Abstract

A system receives context data associated with a context and a user. The system then associates the context data to a user identifier and retrieves data associated with the context. The system then filters the data according to the context data to create result data. In another embodiment, the system also receives context data from a plurality of users, where the context data pertains to one or more attributes of a context. The system then using the context data ranks the one or more attributes of the context to create ranked data and generates a user interface based on the ranked data. In yet another embodiment, the system communicates context data associated with a context and a user to a server, and receives result data created by the server filtering data retrieved based on the context data. The system then generates a user interface based on the result data.

Claims

1. A method, including:

receiving via a network context data associated with a context and a user;

associating the context data to a user identifier;

retrieving data associated with the context; and

filtering the data according to the context data to create result data.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the receiving of the context data includes receiving at least one from a group including a uniform resource locator, a notation, a product identifier, a service identifier, one or more rules, and a context attribute.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the context is from a group including a product and a service.

4. The method of claim 1 wherein the result data associated with the context includes at least one from a group including a review list, a recommendation list, research from other users, research from the user, a seller list, and a buyer list.

5. The method of claim 1, including grouping the result data according to a context data identifier.

6. The method of claim 1, further including:

receiving a rating from the user pertaining to the result data; and

filtering the result data according to the rating.

7. The method of claim 1, including filtering the result data according to one or more ratings associated with the result data.

8. The method of claim 1, including filtering the result data according to geographic data associated with the user when the context is a service.

9. The method of claim 1, further including:

associating an advertisement from a third party pertaining to a context; and

providing the advertisement to a user interface of the user.

10. The method of claim 1, including selectively providing at least a portion of the context data associated with the user to another user based on one or more rules.

11. The method of claim 1, including selectively updating the result data based on receiving new data associated with the context.

12. A system, comprising:

a context module to receive from a client, context data associated with a context and a user, and to associate the context data to a user identifier;

a filtering module to retrieve data associated with the context and to filter the data according to the context data; and

a results module to create result data to communicate to the client.

13. The system of claim 12, wherein the context module to receive of the context data is to receive at least one from a group including a uniform resource locator, a notation, a product identifier, a service identifier, one or more rules, and a context attribute.

14. The system of claim 12, wherein the results module is to group the result data according to a context data identifier.

15. The system of claim 12, further including:

a rating module to receive a rating from the user pertaining to the result data; and

the filtering module is to filter the result data according to the rating.

16. The system of claim 12, including a filter module to filter the result data according to one or more ratings associated with the result data.

17. The system of claim 12, including a filter module to filter the result data according to geographic data associated with the user when the context is a service.

18. The system of claim 12, wherein the results module is to associate an advertisement from a third party pertaining to a context and to provide the advertisement to a user interface of the user.

19. The system of claim 12, including a filter module to provide a selectable portion of the context data associated with the user to another user based on a one or more rules.

20. The system of claim 12, wherein the results module is to selectively update the result data based on receiving new data associated with the context.

21. A machine-readable medium embodying instructions which, when executed by a machine, cause the machine to:

receive context data associated with a context and a user;

associate the context data to a user identifier;

retrieve data associated with the context; and

filter the data according to the context data to create result data.

22. A method, including:

receiving context data from a plurality of users, the context data pertaining to one or more attributes of a context;

using the context data to rank the one or more attributes of the context; and

generating a user interface based on the ranked data.

23. The method of claim 22, further including:

receiving a request for data pertaining to a context; and

responsive to the request providing the user interface.

24. The method of claim 22, including generating a catalogue based on the ranked data.

25. The method of claim 24, the generating of the catalogue includes creating a listing comprised of one or more entry fields, wherein the one or more entry fields pertain to the one or more attributes of the context.

26. The method of claim 25, further including:

receiving the listing, wherein at least one of the one or more entry fields include data; and

communicating the listing to an electronic marketplace.

27. A method, including:

communicating context data associated with a context and a user to a server;

receiving result data created by the server filtering data retrieved based on the context data; and

generating a user interface based on the result data.

28. The method of claim 27, including creating selectable elements in the user interface, wherein each of the selectable elements correspond to a context data identifier.

29. The method of claim 28, wherein the context data identifier includes at least one from the group including notes, reviews, buyers, and sellers.

30. The method of claim 27 wherein the communicating of the context data includes communicating at least one from a group including a uniform resource locator, a notation, a product identifier, a service identifier, a one or more rules, and a context attribute.
