Abstract

A method and systems for a personal restaurant assistant. In one embodiment, the method, that may be implemented on a system, comprises identifying from an invoice for a group of diner'"'"'s having ordered meals, charge items from the invoice to be allocated to one or more of the diners; transmitting over a network connection to a service provider, the identification of the charge items having been allocated to the one or more diners, to have calculated an allocated amount of the invoice for the one or more diners; and receiving over the network connection from the service provider, a calculated allocated amount of the invoice for the one or more diners.

Claims

1. A computer implemented method comprising:

identifying from an invoice for a group of diner'"'"'s having ordered meals, charge items from the invoice to be allocated to one or more of the diners;

Transmitting over a network connection to a service provider, the identification of the charge items having been allocated to the one or more diners, to have calculated an allocated amount of the invoice for the one or more diners; and

Receiving over the network connection from the service provider, a calculated allocated amount of the invoice for the one or more diners.

2. The computer implemented method of claim 1, wherein the charge items comprise food or beverages of the meal having been ordered.

3. The computer implemented method of claim 1, wherein the identifying is performed by single person identifying the charge items from the invoice to be allocated to one or more of the diners.

4. The computer implemented method of claim 1, wherein the identifying includes a diner respectively identifying charge items that are to be allocated to the respective diner.

5. The computer implemented method of claim 1, wherein the identifying includes identifying a single charge item to be allocated to more than one diner.

6. The computer implemented method of claim 1, further comprising logging into the service provider over a network connection, via an ID comprising one or more of a table number, a restaurant number, coupon number, and meal ID.

7. The computer implemented method of claim 6, wherein the ID is transmitted from a restaurant service provider as a v-card via a wireless transmission.

8. The computer implemented method of claim 1, wherein the calculated allocated amount includes an amount for taxes for the charge items.

9. The computer implemented method of claim 1, wherein the identifying, transmitting, and receiving are performed prior to the meals having been served.

10. The computer implemented method of claim 1, further comprising identifying a separate gratuity to be paid by one or more of the diners.

11. The computer implemented method of claim 1, further comprising one or more diners paying their respective calculated allocated amount of the invoice via electronic payment (e-pay).

12. A machine readable medium having stored thereon a set of instructions which when executed, perform a method comprising:

identifying from an invoice for a group of diner'"'"'s having ordered meals, charge items from the invoice to be allocated to one or more of the diners;

Transmitting over a network connection to a service provider, the identification of the charge items having been allocated to the one or more diners, to have calculated an allocated amount of the invoice for the one or more diners; and

Receiving over the network connection from the service provider, a calculated allocated amount of the invoice for the one or more diners.

13. The machine readable medium of claim 12, wherein the charge items comprise food or beverages of the meal having been ordered.

14. The machine readable medium of claim 12, wherein the identifying is performed by single person identifying the charge items from the invoice to be allocated to one or more of the diners.

15. The machine readable medium of claim 12, wherein the identifying includes a diner respectively identifying charge items that are to be allocated to the respective diner.

16. The computer implemented method of claim 12, wherein the identifying includes identifying a single charge item to be allocated to more than one diner.

17. The computer implemented method of claim 12, further comprising logging into the service provider over a network connection, via an ID comprising one or more of a table number, a restaurant number, coupon number, and meal ID.

18. The computer implemented method of claim 17, wherein the ID is transmitted from a restaurant service provider as a v-card via a wireless transmission.

19. The computer implemented method of claim 12, wherein the calculated allocated amount includes an amount for taxes for the charge items.

20. A system comprising:

A means for identifying from an invoice for a group of diner'"'"'s having ordered meals, charge items from the invoice to be allocated to one or more of the diners;

A means for transmitting over a network connection to a service provider, the identification of the charge items having been allocated to the one or more diners, to have calculated an allocated amount of the invoice for the one or more diners; and

A means for receiving over the network connection from the service provider, a calculated allocated amount of the invoice for the one or more diners.
