Abstract

A method may include receiving first event information about a first entity; receiving second event information about a second entity different from the first entity; associating the first entity and the second entity based on a user associated with the first entity and the second entity; and deriving presence event information based on the first event information and the second event information.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

receiving first event information about a first entity;

receiving second event information about a second entity different from the first entity;

associating the first entity and the second entity based on a user associated with the first entity and the second entity; and

deriving presence event information based on the first event information and the second event information.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

comparing the derived presence information to conditions in an event trigger database; and

scheduling an action based on the comparison of the derived presence information to the conditions in the event trigger database.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the first entity is the user using a mobile device.

4. The method of claim 3, wherein the second entity is a vehicle.

5. The method of claim 4, wherein the second event information comprises vehicle event information regarding the location of the second entity.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein associating the first event information and the second event information comprises accessing a database associating the first entity with the second entity.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein deriving presence information comprises accessing a database associating the first entity with the second entity.

8. The method of claim 1, further comprising disassociating the first entity and the second entity when the user is no longer associated with the first entity and the second entity.

9. A system comprising:

a processor configured to

receive first event information about a user using a mobile device;

receive second event information about a vehicle;

associate the mobile device and the vehicle based on the user associated with the mobile device and the vehicle; and

derive presence event information based on the first event information and the second event information.

10. The system of claim 9, wherein the processor is configured to compare the derived presence information to conditions in an event trigger database;

and

scheduling an action based on the comparison of the derived presence information to the conditions in the event trigger database.

11. The system of claim 9, wherein the second event information comprises vehicle event information regarding the location of the vehicle.

12. The system of claim 9, wherein the second event information comprises the operational status of the vehicle.

13. The system of claim 9, wherein associating the first event information and the second event information comprises accessing a database associating the user of the mobile device with the vehicle.

14. The system of claim 9, wherein deriving presence information comprises accessing a database associating the user of the mobile device with the vehicle.

15. The system of claim 9, further comprising disassociating the user of the mobile device and the vehicle when the user is no longer associated with the mobile device and the vehicle.

16. A system comprising:

a processor configured to

receive first event information about a first entity;

receive second event information about a second entity different from the first entity;

associate the first entity and the second entity based on a user associated with the first entity and the second entity; and

derive presence event information based on the first event information and the second event information.

17. The apparatus of claim 16, further comprising:

means for comparing the derived presence information to conditions in an event trigger database; and

means for scheduling an action based on the comparison of the derived presence information to the conditions in the event trigger database.

18. The system of claim 16, wherein the first entity is the user of the mobile device.

19. The system of claim 16, wherein the second entity is a vehicle.

20. The apparatus of claim 19, wherein the second event information comprises vehicle event information regarding the location of the second entity.

21. The apparatus of claim 16, wherein means for associating the first event information and the second event information comprises means for accessing a database associating the first entity with the second entity.

22. The apparatus of claim 16, wherein means for deriving presence information comprises means for accessing a database associating the first entity with the second entity.

23. The apparatus of claim 16, further comprising means for disassociating the first entity and the second entity when the user is no longer associated with the first entity and the second entity.
