Abstract

A sensor arrangement is provided that includes at least one sun sensor in a motor vehicle, wherein the sun sensor is used in the region of the outside surface of the motor vehicle, and the sun sensor is mounted in the area of at least one exterior mirror.

Claims

1. A sensor arrangement comprising at least one sun sensor mounted to a motor vehicle, the sun sensor being provided in a region of an outside surface of the motor vehicle such that the sun sensor is mounted in an area of at least one exterior mirror of the motor vehicle.

2. The sensor arrangement according to claim 1, wherein sun sensors are each mounted in an exterior mirror located on opposite sides of the motor vehicle so that each side of the motor vehicle is monitored by one sun sensor.

3. The sensor arrangement according to claim 1, wherein the sun sensor is dual zone in design.

4. The sensor arrangement according to claim 3, wherein a monitorable hemisphere is subdivided into four quadrants by the sun sensors.

5. The sensor arrangement according to claim 1, wherein the sun sensor is inset in transparent areas of a housing of the exterior mirror.

6. The sensor arrangement according to claim 1, wherein an additional sensor, a temperature sensor, and/or an ambient light sensor, is integrated in the sensor arrangement.
