Abstract

A glass run includes a main body portion and a pair of seal lips. Further, the glass run is constituted by a vehicle exterior side molded member and a vehicle interior side molded member divided at a bottom portion of the main body portion. Further, the vehicle exterior side molded member and the vehicle interior side molded member include engaging portions for engaging to be integrated with each other. By integrating the vehicle exterior side molded member and the vehicle interior side molded member by the engaging portions, the vehicle exterior side molded member is restricted from being shifted to move relative to the vehicle interior side molded member in a vehicle width direction and in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle interior side molded member.

Claims

1. A glass run including a main body portion attached to an attaching portion provided along an inner periphery of a door frame of a vehicle, comprising:

a bottom portion and a vehicle interior side wall portion and a vehicle exterior side wall portion extended from the bottom portion and constituting a section substantially in a U-shape, and

a vehicle interior side seal lip and a vehicle exterior side seal lip extended from tip ends of the vehicle interior side wall portion and the vehicle exterior side wall portion respectively to an inner side of the main body portion;

wherein the main body portion is constituted by a vehicle interior side molded member and a vehicle exterior side molded member;

wherein the vehicle interior side molded member and the vehicle exterior side molded member include engaging portions for engaging to be integrated with each other; and

wherein the vehicle exterior side molded member is restricted from being shifted to move relative to the vehicle interior side molded member in a vehicle width direction and in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle interior side molded member to thereby constitute an entire region in a longitudinal direction comprising an upper side portion in correspondence with an upper edge portion of a door glass and a front vertical side portion and a rear vertical side portion in correspondence with a front edge portion and a rear edge portion of the door glass.

2. The glass run according to claim 1, wherein the vehicle interior side molded member includes at least a portion of the vehicle interior side wall portion of the main body portion, the vehicle interior side seal lip, and the vehicle interior side engaging portion;

wherein the vehicle exterior side molded member includes the vehicle exterior side seal lip, a portion of the main body portion which is not included in the vehicle interior side molded member, and the vehicle exterior side engaging portion; and

wherein the vehicle exterior side molded member is restricted from being shifted to move relative to the vehicle interior side molded member in the vehicle width direction and in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle interior side molded member by engaging the vehicle interior side engaging portion and the vehicle exterior side engaging portion and integrating the vehicle interior side molded member and the vehicle exterior side molded member.

3. The glass run according to claim 1, wherein the main body portion is divided into the vehicle interior side molded member and the vehicle exterior side molded member at the bottom portion or a vicinity thereof.

The glass run according to claim 1, wherein the engaging portions are provided at boundary portions of the vehicle interior side molded member and the vehicle exterior side molded member of the main body portion so as not to be projected from a face on an inner peripheral side and a face on an outer peripheral side of the main body portion.

5. The glass run according to claim 1, wherein the main body portion is divided into the vehicle interior side molded member and the vehicle exterior side molded member at a middle portion in the vehicle width direction of the bottom portion;

wherein a tape member comprising a material harder than a material of the bottom portion is pasted to an inner side face of the bottom portion to ride over the vehicle interior side molded member and the vehicle exterior side molded member.

6. The glass run according to claim 5, wherein at least a face of the bottom portion pasted with the tape member is constituted by a flat face.

7. The glass run according to claim 1, wherein further comprising:

a connecting member constituting at least at a portion of the bottom base portion for connecting the vehicle interior side molded member and the vehicle exterior side molded member;

wherein the connecting member includes a functioning portion constituting an inner side portion of the bottom portion in a state of connecting the vehicle interior side molded member and the vehicle exterior side molded member;

wherein the vehicle interior side molded member includes at least the vehicle interior side wall portion and the vehicle interior side seal lip; and

wherein the vehicle exterior side molded member includes at least the vehicle exterior side wall portion and the vehicle exterior side seal lip.

8. The glass run according to claim 7, wherein the functioning member of the connecting member provided at least at the upper side portion is constituted by a foamed member.

9. The glass run according to claim 7, wherein the functioning portion of the connecting member provided at least at the upper side portion constitutes a hollow shape.

The glass run according to claim 7, wherein the functioning portions of the connecting member provided at least at the front vertical side portion and the rear vertical side portion comprises a material harder than a material of the vehicle interior side molded member and the vehicle exterior side molded member.

11. The glass run according to claim 7, wherein the main body portion is divided into the vehicle interior side molded member and the vehicle exterior side molded member at a middle portion of the bottom portion;

wherein the vehicle interior side molded member includes a vehicle interior side bottom piece extended from the vehicle interior side wall portion and constituting a portion on a vehicle interior side of the bottom portion;

wherein the vehicle exterior side molded member includes a vehicle exterior side bottom piece extended from the vehicle exterior side wall portion and constituting a portion on a vehicle exterior side of the bottom portion;

wherein the connecting member includes a connecting portion main body including engaging portions engaged with engaged portions provided at respective tip end portions of the vehicle interior side bottom piece and the vehicle exterior side bottom piece;

wherein the functioning portion constitutes a shape of a plate extended from the connecting portion main body in opposite directions thereof;

wherein the connecting main body is arranged to be interposed between a tip end portion of the vehicle interior side bottom piece and a tip end portion of the vehicle exterior side bottom piece in a state of connecting the vehicle interior side molded member and the vehicle exterior side molded member and the functioning portion is brought into contact with inner side faces of the vehicle interior side bottom piece and the vehicle exterior side bottom piece; and

wherein the functioning portion is extended to be inclined to a side of the engaging portion from a portion thereof connected to the connecting portion main body in the side directions of the connecting portion main body in a state before connecting the vehicle interior side molded member and the vehicle exterior side molded member.

12. The glass run according to claim 7, wherein the functioning portion of the connecting member includes a sublip capable of being brought into contact with a face of the vehicle interior side seal lip on a side opposed to a face thereof brought into sliding contact with the door glass.

13. The glass run according to claim 7, wherein the connecting member includes a connecting portion main body including an engaging portion engaged with engaged portions provided at the vehicle interior side molded member and the vehicle exterior side molded member;

wherein the connecting portion main body is arranged to be interposed between the vehicle interior side molded member and the vehicle exterior side molded member in a state of connecting the vehicle interior side molded member and the vehicle exterior side molded member; and

wherein in a state of connecting the vehicle interior side molded member and the vehicle exterior side molded member, a pressure exerted to portions of faces provided with the engaged portions of the vehicle interior side molded member and the vehicle exterior side molded member disposed on an inner peripheral side of the main body portion of the engaged portions and brought into contact with the connecting portion main body is set to be larger than a pressure exerted to portions disposed on an outer peripheral side of the main body portion of the engaged portions.

14. A glass run including a main body portion fitted to an attaching portion provided along an inner periphery of a door frame of a vehicle, comprising:

a bottom portion and a vehicle interior side wall portion and a vehicle exterior side wall portion extended from the bottom portion and constituting a section substantially in a U-shape;

a vehicle interior side seal lip and a vehicle exterior side seal lip extended from substantially tip ends of the vehicle interior side wall portion and the vehicle exterior side wall portion to an inner side of the main body portion;

a vehicle interior side molding lip and a vehicle exterior side molding lip extended from the tip ends of the vehicle interior side wall portion and the vehicle exterior side wall portion to an outer side of the main body portion; and

a vehicle interior side retaining lip extended from an outer face of the vehicle interior side wall portion to the vehicle interior side molding lip, and a vehicle exterior side retaining lip extended from an outer face of the vehicle exterior side wall portion to the vehicle exterior side molding lip;

wherein the glass run is attached to the attaching portion by interposing the attaching portion between the vehicle interior side wall portion and the vehicle interior side molding lip and between the vehicle exterior side wall portion and the vehicle exterior side molding lip;

wherein the glass run includes a vehicle interior side molded member having at least the vehicle interior side molding lip and the vehicle interior side seal lip, a vehicle exterior side molded member including at least the vehicle exterior side mold lip and the vehicle exterior side seal lip, and a base portion side molded member including at least the vehicle interior side retaining lip and the vehicle exterior side retaining lip, and at least the vehicle interior side molded member and the vehicle exterior side molded member are formed by molding; and

wherein an entire region in a longitudinal direction comprising an upper side portion in correspondence with an upper edge portion of door glass, and a front vertical side portion and a rear vertical side portion in correspondence with a front edge portion and a rear edge portion of the door glass by integrating the vehicle interior side molded member and the vehicle exterior side molded member and the base portion side molded member.

15. The glass run according to claim 14, wherein the retaining lip is formed continuously over the upper side portion, the front vertical side portion, and the rear vertical side portion, and a sectional shape thereof is constituted to stay substantially the same.

16. A glass run including a main body portion attached to an attaching portion provided along an inner periphery of a door frame of a vehicle, comprising:

a bottom portion and a vehicle interior side wall portion and a vehicle exterior side wall portion extended from the bottom portion and constituting a section substantially in a U-shape, and

a vehicle interior side seal lip and a vehicle exterior side seal lip extended from substantially tip ends of the vehicle interior side wall portion and the vehicle exterior side wall portion to an inner side of the main body portion;

wherein the glass run includes a vehicle interior side molded portion having at least the vehicle interior side seal lip and the vehicle interior side wall portion, and a vehicle exterior side molded portion including at least the vehicle exterior side seal lip and the vehicle exterior side wall portion;

wherein an entire region in a longitudinal direction comprising an upper side portion in correspondence with an upper edge portion of door glass and a front vertical side portion and a rear vertical side portion in correspondence with a front edge portion and a rear edge portion of the door glass;

wherein a portion in correspondence with the bottom portion is provided with a connecting portion connecting the vehicle interior side molded portion and the vehicle exterior side molded portion and elongatable and contractable in a vehicle inner and outer direction; and

wherein the vehicle interior side molded portion, the vehicle exterior side molded portion, and the connecting portion are integrally formed by molding.

17. The glass run according to claim 16, wherein the connecting portion is partially or intermittently provided in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle interior side molded portion and the vehicle exterior side molded portion.

18. A method of fabricating a glass run including a main body portion attached to an attaching portion provided along an inner periphery of a door frame of a vehicle, comprising a bottom portion and a vehicle interior side wall portion and a vehicle exterior side wall portion extended from the bottom portion and constituting a section substantially in a U-shape, and a vehicle interior side seal lip and a vehicle exterior side seal lip extended from substantially tip ends of the vehicle interior side wall portion and the vehicle exterior side wall portion to an inner side of the main body portion, the method comprising:

a molding step of molding a vehicle interior side molded member including at least the vehicle interior side seal lip and a vehicle exterior side molded member including at least the vehicle exterior side seal lip by molding; and

an integrating step of constituting an entire region in a longitudinal direction comprising an upper side portion in correspondence with an upper edge portion of door glass, and a front vertical side portion and a rear vertical side portion in correspondence with a front edge portion and a rear edge portion of the door glass by integrating the vehicle interior side molded member and the vehicle exterior side molded member;

wherein the molding step comprises;

an installing step of installing a sliding member comprising a material harder than a material of the main body portion at portions of molding faces constituting cavities for subjecting the vehicle interior side molded member and the vehicle exterior side molded member to molding for molding an inner side face of the bottom portion, a door glass sliding face of the vehicle interior side seal lip, and a door glass sliding face of the vehicle exterior side seal lip; and

a filling step of injecting a material constituting the molded members to fill in the cavities installed with the sliding members.

19. The method of fabricating a glass run according to claim 18, further comprising:

a shift preventing step of restricting a positional shift of the sliding member installed in the cavity at the installing step;

wherein the filling step is carried out in a state of restricting the positional shift of the sliding member.

20. The method of fabricating the glass run according to claim 18, wherein the sliding member is constituted by a sheet-like shape and one face side thereof is formed with a plurality of rows of groove portions or recess portions.
