Abstract

A system and method of illustrating where at least one ticket is located in an event venue, comprising: accepting event criteria for at least one ticket and at least one event; accepting price criteria for the at least one ticket and the at least one event; displaying an interactive graphics-based event venue map illustrating a location of all sections at a venue with at least one ticket meeting the event criteria and price criteria; accepting section selection criteria, at least one section being selected from the interactive graphics-based event venue map; displaying ticket information in a web browsing language corresponding to the section selection criteria, the displayed ticket information in the web browsing language being able to be utilized to drill down to a specific ticket, causing a location of the specific ticket to be displayed in the interactive graphics-based event venue map; and enabling a capability to utilize the interactive graphics-based event venue map to choose a section of interest, causing corresponding ticket information to be displayed in the web browsing language.

Claims

1. A method of illustrating where at least one ticket is located in an event venue, comprising:

accepting event criteria for at least one ticket and at least one event;

accepting price criteria for the at least one ticket and the at least one event;

displaying an interactive graphics-based event venue map illustrating a location of all sections at a venue with at least one ticket meeting the event criteria and price criteria;

accepting section selection criteria, at least on, section being selected from the interactive graphics-based event venue map; and

displaying ticket information in a web browsing language corresponding to the section selection criteria, the displayed ticket information in the web browsing language being able to be utilized to drill down to a specific ticket, causing a location of the specific ticket to be displayed in the interactive graphics-based event venue map.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

enabling a capability to utilize the interactive graphics-based event venue map to choose a section of interest, causing corresponding ticket information to be displayed in the web browsing language.

3. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

displaying ticket information for a particular section as an overlay on the particular section on the interactive graphics-based event venue map.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the displaying ticket information in the web browsing language further comprises:

displaying ticket information in the web browsing language list next to the interactive graphics-based event venue map, the section corresponding to the ticket information being marked on the interactive graphics-based event venue map.

5. The method of claim 2, wherein a user can interact with the interactive graphics-based event venue map and see the results reflected in web browsing language ticket information.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the interactive graphics-based event venue map is scalable and moveable.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein irrespective of where the method resides, the method is able to interact with third party sites.

8. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

accepting other price criteria;

displaying the interactive graphics-based event venue map illustrating the location of all sections with at least one ticket meeting the other price criteria without requiring relaunching of the interactive graphics-based event venue map.

9. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

accepting other section selection criteria;

displaying ticket information corresponding to the other section selection criteria without requiring relaunching of the interactive graphics-based event venue map.

10. The method of claim 1, wherein a user can select any number of sections or groups of sections as the section selection criteria.

11. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

utilizing the method with any web enabled software application, whether or not hosted by the same party hosting the method.

12. The method of claim 11, wherein the ticket information comprises:

listing information, transaction information, or bid information, or any combination thereof.

13. The method of claim 12, wherein the listing information comprises:

ticket information on at least one ticket sold at a fixed price;

ticket information on at least one ticket sold at a declining price;

or ticket information on at least one ticket available for auction;

or any combination thereof.

14. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

also displaying graphics-based event venue map information that is not interactive.

26. The method of claim 1, wherein the interactive graphics-based event venue map is a FLASH-based event venue map.

27. The method of claim 1, wherein the web browsing language is HTML.

15. A system for illustrating where a ticket is located in an event venue, comprising:

a mediator for accepting event criteria for at least one ticket and at least one event;

a mediator for accepting price criteria for the at least one ticket and the at least one event;

an interactive graphics-based map module for displaying an interactive graphics-based event venue map illustrating a location of all sections at a venue with at least one ticket meeting the event criteria and the price criteria;

a mediator for accepting section selection criteria, at least one section being selected from the interactive graphics-based event venue map; and

a ticket listing module in a web browsing language for displaying a web browsing language ticket listing corresponding to the section selection criteria;

the web browsing language ticket listing being able to be utilized to drill down to a specific ticket, causing a location of the specific ticket to be displayed in the interactive graphics-based event venue map.

16. The system of claim 15, further comprising:

the interactive graphics-based event venue map being able to be utilized to choose a section of interest, causing corresponding ticket information to be displayed in the web browsing language.

17. The system of claim 15, wherein the system is able to reside on any web enabled software application, whether or not hosted by the same party hosting the system.

18. The system of claim 15, wherein irrespective of where the system resides, the system is be able to interact with third party sites.

19. The system of claim 15, wherein ticket information for a particular section is also displayed as an overlay on the particular section on the interactive graphics-based event venue map.

20. The system of claim 15, wherein the interactive graphics-based event venue map is scalable and moveable.

21. The system of claim 15, wherein ticket information includes listing information, transaction information, or bid information, or any combination thereof.

22. The system of claim 15, wherein the system consumes ticket information for multiple events.

23. The system of claim 15, wherein a user can interact with the interactive graphics-based event venue map and see results reflected in the web browsing language ticket information.

24. The system of claim 15, wherein the listing information comprises:

ticket information for at least one ticket that has not yet been sold;

ticket information for at least one ticket that has been sold;

or ticket information for at least one ticket available for auction;

or any combination thereof.

25. The system of claim 15, wherein graphics-based event venue map information is also displayed which is not interactive.

28. The system of claim 15, wherein the interactive graphics-based event venue map is a FLASH-based event venue map.

29. The system of claim 15, wherein the web browsing language is HTML.
