Abstract

The invention relates to a receiving device for an audio-video system. The receiving device comprises a connector, a video processing unit, an audio processing module, and a monitoring unit. The monitoring unit detects a status of an inputted signal received by the connector and controls the operation of at lease one of the video processing unit and the audio processing module in accordance with the detected result to avoid the audio-video system display abnormal image or play noise when the receiving device did not receive the inputted signal by accident.

Claims

1. A receiving device for an audio-video system comprising:

a connector for receiving an inputted signal, the connector adopts a standard of transmission interface with a serial link format to transmit a digitized audio-video data;

a video processing unit for processing a video data included in the inputted signal;

an audio processing module for processing an audio data included in the inputted signal; and

a monitoring unit for detecting a status of at least one signal of the inputted signal and controlling an operation of at least one of the video processing unit and the audio processing module in accordance with the detected result.

2. The receiving device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the monitoring unit detects a voltage level value of a DC-biasing signal included in the inputted signal.

3. The receiving device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the monitoring unit detects a change of a voltage level in the at least one signal of the inputted signal in a predetermined period.

4. The receiving device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the monitoring unit detects a video signal corresponding to a video data in the inputted signal.

5. The receiving device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the monitoring unit detects an audio signal corresponding to an audio data in the inputted signal.

6. The receiving device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the monitoring unit detects a clock signal in the inputted signal.

7. The receiving device as claimed in claim 1, further comprising a decoder and an audio-video separating unit coupled between the connector and the video processing unit.

8. The receiving device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the standard of transmission interface conforms to High Definition Multimedia Interface standard.

9. The receiving device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the standard of transmission interface conforms to Display Port standard.

10. The receiving device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the standard of transmission interface conforms to Unified Display Interface standard.

11. A receiving device installed in an audio-video system comprising:

a connector for receiving an inputted signal, the connector adopts a standard of transmission interface with a serial link format to transmit a digitized audio-video data;

a video data register for storing a video data in the inputted signal;

a video processing unit for processing the video data stored in the video data register;

an audio processing module for processing an audio data in the inputted signal; and

a monitoring unit for detecting a status of the video data register and controlling an operation of at least one of the video processing unit and the audio processing module in accordance with the detected result.

12. The receiving device as claimed in claim 11, further comprising a decoder and an audio-video separating unit coupled between the connector and the video data register.

13. The receiving device as claimed in claim 11, wherein the standard of transmission interface conforms to High Definition Multimedia Interface standard.

14. The receiving device as claimed in claim 11, wherein the standard of transmission interface conforms to Display Port standard.

15. The receiving device as claimed in claim 11, wherein the standard of transmission interface conforms to Unified Display Interface standard.

16. A receiving device for an audio-video system comprising:

a connector for receiving an inputted signal, the connector adopts a standard of transmission interface with a serial link format to transmit a digitized audio-video data;

an audio data register for storing an audio data in the inputted signal;

a video processing unit for processing a video data in the inputted signal;

an audio processing module for processing the audio data stored in the audio data register; and

a monitoring unit for detecting a status of the audio data register and controlling an operation of at least one of the video processing unit and the audio processing module in accordance with the detected result.

17. The receiving device as claimed in claim 16, further comprising a decoder and an audio-video separating unit coupled between the connector and the audio data register.

18. The receiving device as claimed in claim 16, wherein the standard of transmission interface conforms to High Definition Multimedia Interface standard.

19. The receiving device as claimed in claim 16, wherein the standard of transmission interface conforms to Display Port standard.

20. The receiving device as claimed in claim 16, wherein the standard of transmission interface conforms to Unified Display Interface standard.
