Abstract

A child device capable of implementing a plurality of device functions includes a plurality of operational components, each operational component being configured to implement at least one of the plurality of device functions. The child device further includes a control circuit coupled to the plurality of operational components to direct operation of each operational component, and a memory in communication with the control circuit. The memory is configured to store data indicative of an operational mode, the data specifying a plurality of operational settings for the plurality of operational components, respectively. The child device still further includes a user interface coupled to the control circuit and configured to detect an operator interaction resulting in selection of the operational mode. The control circuit directs the plurality of operational components in accordance with the plurality of operational settings in response to the selection of the operational mode.

Claims

1. A child device capable of implementing a plurality of device functions, the child device comprising:

a plurality of operational components, each operational component being configured to implement at least one of the plurality of device functions;

a control circuit coupled to the plurality of operational components to direct operation of each operational component;

a memory in communication with the control circuit and configured to store data indicative of an operational mode, the data specifying a plurality of operational settings for the plurality of operational components, respectively; and

a user interface coupled to the control circuit and configured to detect an operator interaction resulting in selection of the operational mode;

wherein the control circuit directs the plurality of operational components in accordance with the plurality of operational settings in response to the selection of the operational mode.

2. A child device according to claim 1, wherein the memory is configured to store further data indicative of a further operational mode specifying a further plurality of operational settings for the plurality of operational components.

3. A child device according to claim 1, further comprising a further operational component not within the plurality of operational components yet configured to implement at least one of the plurality of device functions.

4. A child device according to claim 1, wherein the data indicative of the operational mode is user-defined.

5. A child device according to claim 4, wherein the user interface is configured to detect a further operator interaction directed to identification and collection of the plurality of operational settings.

6. A child device according to claim 1, wherein one of the plurality of operational components comprises an audio input source switch such that one of the plurality of device functions comprises selection of an audio input source.

7. A child device according to claim 1, wherein one of the plurality of operational components comprises an audio amplifier such that one of the plurality of device functions comprises selection of an audio output volume.

8. A child device according to claim 1, wherein one of the plurality of operational components comprises a vibration motor regulator such that one of the plurality of device functions comprises selection of a vibration motor intensity.

9. A child device according to claim 1, wherein one of the plurality of operational components comprises a swing motor regulator such that one of the plurality of device functions comprises selection of a swing motor speed.

10. A child device according to claim 1, wherein one of the plurality of operational components comprises an output register for controlling visual output devices such that one of the plurality of device functions comprises selection of output illumination.
