Abstract

The present invention is a method of organizing and processing data in a distributed computing system. The invention is also implemented as a computer program on a computer medium and as a distributed computer system. Software modules can be configured as hardware. The method and system organizes select content which is important to an enterprise operating said distributed computing system. The select content is represented by one or more predetermined words, characters, images, data elements or data objects. The computing system has a plurality of select content data stores for respective ones of a plurality of enterprise designated categorical filters which include content-based filters, contextual filters and taxonomic classification filters, all operatively coupled over a communications network. A data input is processed through at least one activated categorical filter to obtain select content, and contextually associated select content and taxonomically associated select content as aggregated select content. The aggregated select content is stored in the corresponding select content data store. A data process from the group of data processes including a copy process, a data extract process, a data archive process, a data distribution process and a data destruction process is associated with the activated categorical filter and the method and system applies the associated data process to a further data input based upon a result of that further data being processed by the activated categorical filter utilizing the aggregated select content data.

Claims

1. A method of organizing and processing data in a distributed computing system having:

select content important to an enterprise operating said distributed computing system, said select content represented by one or more predetermined words, characters, images, data elements or data objects, said distributed computing system having a plurality of select content data stores for respective ones of a plurality of enterprise designated categorical filters which include content-based filters, contextual filters and taxonomic classification filters, said plurality of select content data stores and enterprise designated categorical filters operatively coupled over a communications network, the method of organizing and processing data comprising;

activating at least one of said enterprise designated categorical filters and processing a data input therethrough to obtain said select content, and contextually associated select content and taxonomically associated select content as aggregated select content;

storing said aggregated select content for said at least one categorical filter in said corresponding select content data store;

for said activated categorical filter, associating at least one data process from the group of data processes including a copy process, a data extract process, a data archive process, a data distribution process and a data destruction process;

applying the associated data process to a further data input based upon a result of said further data processed by said activated categorical filter utilizing said aggregated select content data.

A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 1 wherein said enterprise designated filter screens data for an enterprise policy from the group of enterprise policies including level of service policy, customer privacy policy, supplier privacy policy, enterprise human resource privacy policy, financial data handling policy, public company reporting policy, health care regulation policy, technical innovation policy, competitive reporting policy and document or data retention policy.

A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 2 wherein, prior to activating said designated categorical filter, said data input is processed through a screening taxonomical classification filter which output activates said at least one designated categorical filter for said data input.

4. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 3 including activating several categorical filters based upon said screening taxonomical classification filter output.

5. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 1 wherein said further data input is the same as said data input.

6. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 1 wherein said result of said further data processed by said activated categorical filter indicates the presence or absence of select content or aggregated select content.

7. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 1 wherein said further data input encompasses structured or unstructured data which is processed by said activated categorical filter.

8. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 1 wherein said data input is deconstructed into its constituent data elements before processing through said categorical filter.

9. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 1 wherein activating said enterprise designated categorical filter encompasses an automatic activation or a manual activation.

10. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 9 wherein said automatic activation is time-based, distributed computer system condition-based, or event-based.

11. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 1 wherein activation of said enterprise designated categorical filter is linked to a data process request from said group of data processes.

12. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 11 wherein said group of data processes includes an inter-enterprise data distribution process and an intra-enterprise data distribution process and different categorical filters associated therewith.

13. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 12 wherein said group of data processes includes a data access request coupled with said data distribution process, a denial data distribution process, and a limited data distribution process.

14. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 1 imposing a classification taxonomy onto said stored aggregated select content.

15. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 1 including storing said select content separate from said aggregated select content in said select content store.

16. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 15 imposing a classification taxonomy onto said stored select content.

17. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 1 including storing the obtained select content or a representation thereof in said select content data store.

18. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 1 wherein said data input has a source indicator and the obtained select content, when stored in said select content data store, includes a corresponding representative source indicator.

19. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 18 including generating a tag or label responsive to said source indicator and said corresponding representative source indicator.

20. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 2 wherein said further data input is the same as said data input and wherein said result of said further data processed by said activated categorical filter indicates the presence or absence of select content or aggregated select content.

21. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 20 wherein said data input is deconstructed into its constituent data elements before processing through said categorical filter and wherein, prior to activating said designated categorical filter, said data input is processed through a screening taxonomical classification filter which output activates said at least one designated categorical filter for said data input.

A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 21 wherein activating said enterprise designated categorical filter encompasses an automatic activation or a manual activation and said automatic activation is time-based, distributed computer system condition-based, or event-based.

A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 22 wherein activation of said enterprise designated categorical filter is linked to a data process request from said group of data processes and said group of data processes includes an inter-enterprise data distribution process, an intra-enterprise data distribution process, a data access request coupled with said data distribution process, a denial data distribution process, and a limited data distribution process.

A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 23 including storing said select content separate from said aggregated select content in said select content store, imposing a classification taxonomy onto said stored aggregated select content and imposing said classification taxonomy onto said stored select content.

25. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 24 including storing the obtained select content or a representation thereof in said select content data store.

A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 25 wherein said data input has a source indicator and the obtained select content, when stored in said select content data store, includes a corresponding representative source indicator and the method includes generating a tag or label responsive to said source indicator and said corresponding representative source indicator.

27. A method of organizing and processing data in a distributed computing system having select content important to an enterprise operating said distributed computing system and represented by one or more predetermined words, characters, images, data elements or data objects, said distributed computing system having a plurality of select content data stores for respective ones of a plurality of designated categorical filters which are operatively coupled over a communications network, the method of organizing and processing data comprising:

activating at least one of said designated categorical filters and processing a data input therethrough to obtain said select content and associated select content, which associated select content is at least one of contextually associated select content and taxonomically associated select content, as aggregated select content;

storing said aggregated select content for said at least one categorical filter in said corresponding select content data store;

for said activated categorical filter, associating at least one data process from the group of data processes including a copy process, a data extract process, a data archive process, a data distribution process and a data destruction process;

applying the associated data process to a further data input based upon a result of said further data processed by said activated categorical filter utilizing said aggregated select content data.

A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 27 wherein said designated filter is an enterprise designated filter which screens data for an enterprise policy from the group of enterprise policies including level of service policy, customer privacy policy, supplier privacy policy, enterprise human resource privacy policy, financial data handling policy, public company reporting policy, health care regulation policy, technical innovation policy, competitive reporting policy and document or data retention policy.

29. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 27 wherein activating said designated categorical filter encompasses an automatic activation or a manual activation and said automatic activation is time-based, distributed computer system condition-based, or event-based.

A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 27 wherein activation of said designated categorical filter is linked to a data process request from said group of data processes and said group of data processes includes an inter-enterprise data distribution process, an intra-enterprise data distribution process, a data access request coupled with said data distribution process, a denial data distribution process, and a limited data distribution process.

A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 27 including storing said select content separate from said aggregated select content in said select content store, imposing a classification taxonomy onto said stored aggregated select content and imposing said classification taxonomy onto said stored select content.

32. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 27 including storing the obtained select content or a representation thereof in said select content data store.

33. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 27 wherein said data input has a source indicator and the obtained select content, when stored in said select content data store, includes a corresponding representative source indicator and the method includes generating a tag or label responsive to said source indicator and said corresponding representative source indicator.

A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 27 wherein said data input is said further data input and said data input is deconstructed into its constituent data elements before processing through said categorical filter and wherein, prior to activating said designated categorical filter, said data input is processed through a screening taxonomical classification filter which output activates said at least one designated categorical filter for said data input.

35. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 27 wherein said storing includes at least one or more of translating, transforming, converting, rendering, archiving and transposing said select content in or into said select content data store.

36. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 27 wherein said storing of said select content in said select content data store includes at least one or both of partially or completely storing said select content.

37. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 27 wherein said storing of said select content in said select content data store includes partially or completely storing said select content in said select content data stores with at least one of encryption, data compression, or with parsed transmission of data.

38. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 27 wherein said storing of said select content in said select content data store includes at least one or more of tagging, labeling, or classifying said select content.

39. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 27 wherein

said select content is defined as at least one of litigation specific content, aged content, archival content, historical content and said select content data store is correspondingly designated as at least one of litigation specific stores, aged content stores, archival stores, or historical content stores.

A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 27 wherein said storing of said select content in said select content data store includes at least one or more of storing in predetermined select data stores, storing in a predetermined manner by random selection of select data stores, storing by data class in said select data stores, storing data by data type in said select data stores, storing by level of importance in said select data stores, or storing data in said select data stores in a predetermined manner with an algorithmic selection.

41. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 27 wherein said storing of said select content in said select content data store includes storing data in at least one of optical media data stores or non-magnetic media stores or print stores.

42. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 27 wherein storing of said select content is done separately with respect to at least one of remainder data, left-over data, non-sensitive content data, surplus data, residue data, remnant data, or data complementary to said select content data.

43. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 27 including permitting reconstruction of said select content or said aggregated select content by at least one of reassembly, reconstitution, regeneration, compilation, reorganization, reclamation or reformation of some or all of said data with appropriate access controls applied to respective select content data stores with the use of at least one of predetermined access controls, assigned access controls, access controls generated with said storing of said secure data, or access controls and encryption.

A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 43 wherein said access controls are applied to at least one or more of predetermined respective select data stores, associated respective select data stores, correlated respective select data stores, designated respective select data stores, archival respective select data stores, copy protected respective select data stores, or electromagnetic pulse (EMP) protected respective select data stores.

A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 27 wherein the method of organizing and processing data is deployed in a client-server computer system with at least one server computer and a plurality of select content data stores, said server operatively coupled to at least one client computer and said secure data stores over said communications network,

said server effecting said actuation of said at least one designated categorical filter.

46. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 27 wherein the method of organizing and processing data is deployed in a client-server computer system with at least one server computer and a plurality of select content data stores, said server operatively coupled to at least one client computer and said secure data stores over said communications network,

said server effecting said storing of said aggregated select content.

A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 27 wherein the method of organizing and processing data is deployed in a client-server computer system with at least one server computer and a plurality of select content data stores, said server operatively coupled to at least one client computer and said secure data stores over said communications network,

said server effecting the association of said at least one data process to said activated filter.

A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 27 wherein the method of organizing and processing data is deployed in a client-server computer system with at least one server computer and a plurality of select content data stores, said server operatively coupled to at least one client computer and said secure data stores over said communications network,

said server applying the associated data process and effecting the processing of said further data input.

49. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 27 wherein said select content is at least one or more of:

select sensitive words, data objects, characters, images, data elements or icons;

defined sensitive words, data objects, characters, images, data elements or icons;

known sensitive words, data objects, characters, images, data elements or icons;

certain sensitive words, data objects, characters, images, data elements or icons;

a collection of sensitive words, data objects, characters, images, data elements or icons;

a plurality of predetermined sensitive words, data objects, characters, images, data elements or icons;

a plurality of predetermined sensitive words, data objects, characters, images, data elements or icons having different hierarchal or orthogonal levels of sensitive content;

formatives of predetermined sensitive words, data objects, characters, images, data elements or icons;

or

words, data objects, characters, images, data elements or icons which are not from a plurality of predetermined words, data objects, characters, images, data elements or icons.

A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 27 wherein said associated select content is correlated to select content by at least or more of function, meaning, semiotic relationship, syntactic relationship, semantic relationship, pragmatic relationship, or taxonomic relationship.

51. A method of organizing and processing data in a distributed computing system having security sensitive content and select content, said security sensitive content represented by one or more security sensitive words, characters, images, data elements or data objects therein, said security sensitive content having a plurality of security levels, each security level having an associated security clearance, said select content represented by one or more predetermined words, characters, images, data elements or data objects, said distributed computing system having a plurality of extract data stores for respective ones of said plurality of security levels and having a plurality of select content data stores for respective ones of a plurality of enterprise designated filters, said plurality of extract data stores and said select content data stores operatively coupled over a communications network, the method of organizing and processing data comprising:

extracting said security sensitive content from a data input to obtain extracted security sensitive data for a corresponding security level and remainder data;

storing said extracted security sensitive data for said corresponding security level in a respective security sensitive extract store and storing said remainder data in said distributed computer system;

limiting distribution of said data input with respect to said distributed computing system based upon throughput from at least one of said enterprise designated filters; and

,

controlling release of corresponding extracted security sensitive data from said respective extract stores with said associated security clearances for corresponding security levels.

A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 51 wherein limiting distribution of said data input includes at least one data process from the group of data processes including a copy process, a data extract process, a data archive process, a data destruction process, an inter-enterprise data distribution process, an intra-enterprise data distribution process, a denial data distribution process, and a limited data distribution process.

53. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 51 including fully or partially reconstructing all or part of said data input with said corresponding extracted data and remainder data after controlling release thereof.

A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 51 wherein said enterprise designated filter is a categorical filter which includes content, contextual and taxonomic classification filter elements for an enterprise policy from the group of enterprise policies including level of service policy, customer privacy policy, supplier privacy policy, enterprise human resource privacy policy, financial data handling policy, public company reporting policy, health care regulation policy, technical innovation policy, competitive reporting policy and document or data retention policy.

A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 51 including identifying and storing said select content from said data input, or a representation thereof, into said select content store with said corresponding enterprise designated filter, and imposing a classification taxonomy onto said stored select content or representation thereof.

A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 55 wherein said data input has a source indicator and said select content, when stored in said select content data store, includes a corresponding representative source indicator and the method includes generating a tag or label responsive to said source indicator and said corresponding representative source indicator.

57. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 52 including fully or partially reconstructing all or part of said data input with said corresponding extracted data and remainder data after controlling release thereof.

A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 57 wherein said enterprise designated filter is a categorical filter which includes content, contextual and taxonomic classification filter elements for an enterprise policy from the group of enterprise policies including level of service policy, customer privacy policy, supplier privacy policy, enterprise human resource privacy policy, financial data handling policy, public company reporting policy, health care regulation policy, technical innovation policy, competitive reporting policy and document or data retention policy.

A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 58 including identifying and storing said select content from said data input, or a representation thereof, into said select content store with said corresponding enterprise designated filter, and imposing a classification taxonomy onto said stored select content or representation thereof.

A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 59 wherein said data input has a source indicator and said select content, when stored in said select content data store, includes a corresponding representative source indicator and the method includes generating a tag or label responsive to said source indicator and said corresponding representative source indicator.

61. A computer readable medium containing programming instructions for organizing and processing data in a distributed computing system having select content important to an enterprise operating said distributed computing system, said select content represented by one or more predetermined words, characters, images, data elements or data objects, said distributed computing system having a plurality of select content data stores for respective ones of a plurality of enterprise designated categorical filters which include content-based filters, contextual filters and taxonomic classification filters, said plurality of select content data stores and enterprise designated categorical filters operatively coupled over a communications network, the method of organizing and processing data, the programming instructions comprising:

activating at least one of said enterprise designated categorical filters and processing a data input therethrough to obtain said select content, and contextually associated select content and taxonomically associated select content as aggregated select content;

storing said aggregated select content for said at least one categorical filter in said corresponding select content data store;

for said activated categorical filter, associating at least one data process from the group of data processes including a copy process, a data extract process, a data archive process, a data distribution process and a data destruction process;

applying the associated data process to a further data input based upon a result of said further data processed by said activated categorical filter utilizing said aggregated select content data.

The computer readable medium for organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 61 wherein said enterprise designated filter screens data for an enterprise policy from the group of enterprise policies including level of service policy, customer privacy policy, supplier privacy policy, enterprise human resource privacy policy, financial data handling policy, public company reporting policy, health care regulation policy, technical innovation policy, competitive reporting policy and document or data retention policy.

The computer readable medium for organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 62 wherein, prior to activating said designated categorical filter, said data input is processed through a screening taxonomical classification filter which output activates said at least one designated categorical filter for said data input.

64. The computer readable medium for organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 63 including activating several categorical filters based upon said screening taxonomical classification filter output.

65. The computer readable medium for organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 61 wherein said further data input is the same as said data input.

66. The computer readable medium for organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 61 wherein said result of said further data processed by said activated categorical filter indicates the presence or absence of select content or aggregated select content.

67. The computer readable medium for organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 61 wherein said further data input encompasses structured or unstructured data which is processed by said activated categorical filter.

68. The computer readable medium for organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 61 wherein said data input is deconstructed into its constituent data elements before processing through said categorical filter.

69. The computer readable medium for organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 61 wherein activating said enterprise designated categorical filter encompasses an automatic activation or a manual activation.

70. The computer readable medium for organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 69 wherein said automatic activation is time-based, distributed computer system condition-based, or event-based.

71. The computer readable medium for organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 61 wherein activation of said enterprise designated categorical filter is linked to a data process request from said group of data processes.

72. The computer readable medium for organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 71 wherein said group of data processes includes an inter-enterprise data distribution process and an intra-enterprise data distribution process and different categorical filters associated therewith.

73. The computer readable medium for organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 72 wherein said group of data processes includes a data access request coupled with said data distribution process, a denial data distribution process, and a limited data distribution process.

74. The computer readable medium for organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 61 including imposing a classification taxonomy onto said stored aggregated select content.

75. The computer readable medium for organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 61 including storing said select content separate from said aggregated select content in said select content store.

76. The computer readable medium for organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 75 including imposing a classification taxonomy onto said stored select content.

77. The computer readable medium for organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 61 including storing the obtained select content or a representation thereof in said select content data store.

78. The computer readable medium for organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 61 wherein said data input has a source indicator and the obtained select content, when stored in said select content data store, includes a corresponding representative source indicator.

79. The computer readable medium for organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 78 including generating a tag or label responsive to said source indicator and said corresponding representative source indicator.

The computer readable medium for organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 62 wherein said further data input is the same as said data input and wherein said result of said further data processed by said activated categorical filter indicates the presence or absence of select content or aggregated select content.

The computer readable medium for organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 80 wherein said data input is deconstructed into its constituent data elements before processing through said categorical filter and wherein, prior to activating said designated categorical filter, said data input is processed through a screening taxonomical classification filter which output activates said at least one designated categorical filter for said data input.

The computer readable medium for organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 81 wherein activating said enterprise designated categorical filter encompasses an automatic activation or a manual activation and said automatic activation is time-based, distributed computer system condition-based, or event-based.

The computer readable medium for organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 82 wherein activation of said enterprise designated categorical filter is linked to a data process request from said group of data processes and said group of data processes includes an inter-enterprise data distribution process, an intra-enterprise data distribution process, a data access request coupled with said data distribution process, a denial data distribution process, and a limited data distribution process.

The computer readable medium for organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 83 including storing said select content separate from said aggregated select content in said select content store, imposing a classification taxonomy onto said stored aggregated select content and imposing said classification taxonomy onto said stored select content.

85. The computer readable medium for organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 84 including storing the obtained select content or a representation thereof in said select content data store.

The computer readable medium for organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 85 wherein said data input has a source indicator and the obtained select content, when stored in said select content data store, includes a corresponding representative source indicator and the method includes generating a tag or label responsive to said source indicator and said corresponding representative source indicator.

87. A computer readable medium containing programming instructions for organizing and processing data in a distributed computing system having select content important to an enterprise operating said distributed computing system and represented by one or more predetermined words, characters, images, data elements or data objects, said distributed computing system having a plurality of select content data stores for respective ones of a plurality of designated categorical filters which are operatively coupled over a communications network, the method of organizing and processing data, the programming instructions comprising:

activating at least one of said designated categorical filters and processing a data input therethrough to obtain said select content and associated select content, which associated select content is at least one of contextually associated select content and taxonomically associated select content, as aggregated select content;

storing said aggregated select content for said at least one categorical filter in said corresponding select content data store;

for said activated categorical filter, associating at least one data process from the group of data processes including a copy process, a data extract process, a data archive process, a data distribution process and a data destruction process;

applying the associated data process to a further data input based upon a result of said further data processed by said activated categorical filter utilizing said aggregated select content data.

The computer readable medium for organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 87 wherein said designated filter is an enterprise designated filter which screens data for an enterprise policy from the group of enterprise policies including level of service policy, customer privacy policy, supplier privacy policy, enterprise human resource privacy policy, financial data handling policy, public company reporting policy, health care regulation policy, technical innovation policy, competitive reporting policy and document or data retention policy.

A computer readable medium containing programming instructions for organizing and processing data in a distributed computing system having security sensitive content and select content, said security sensitive content represented by one or more security sensitive words, characters, images, data elements or data objects therein, said security sensitive content having a plurality of security levels, each security level having an associated security clearance, said select content represented by one or more predetermined words, characters, images, data elements or data objects, said distributed computing system having a plurality of extract data stores for respective ones of said plurality of security levels and having a plurality of select content data stores for respective ones of a plurality of enterprise designated filters, said plurality of extract data stores and said select content data stores operatively coupled over a communications network, the method of organizing and processing data, the programming instructions comprising:

extracting said security sensitive content from a data input to obtain extracted security sensitive data for a corresponding security level and remainder data;

storing said extracted security sensitive data for said corresponding security level in a respective security sensitive extract store and storing said remainder data in said distributed computer system;

limiting distribution of said data input with respect to said distributed computing system based upon throughput from at least one of said enterprise designated filters; and

,

controlling release of corresponding extracted security sensitive data from said respective extract stores with said associated security clearances for corresponding security levels.

The computer readable medium for organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 95 wherein limiting distribution of said data input includes at least one data process from the group of data processes including a copy process, a data extract process, a data archive process, a data destruction process, an inter-enterprise data distribution process, an intra-enterprise data distribution process, a denial data distribution process, and a limited data distribution process.

A method of organizing and processing data in a distributed computing system having select content important to an enterprise operating said distributed computing system, said select content represented by one or more predetermined words, characters, images, data elements or data objects, said distributed computing system being a client-server computer system with at least one server computer and having a plurality of select content data stores for respective ones of a plurality of enterprise designated categorical filters which include content-based filters, contextual filters and taxonomic classification filters, said server operatively coupled to at least one client computer and operatively coupled to said plurality of select content data stores and enterprise designated categorical filters over a communications network, the method of organizing and processing data comprising:

activating at said server computer at least one of said enterprise designated categorical filters and processing a data input therethrough to obtain said select content, and contextually associated select content and taxonomically associated select content as aggregated select content;

effecting the storage of said aggregated select content for said at least one categorical filter in said corresponding select content data store;

for said activated categorical filter, associating at least one data process from the group of data processes including a copy process, a data extract process, a data archive process, a data distribution process and a data destruction process;

applying the associated data process at said server to a further data input based upon a result of said further data processed by said activated categorical filter utilizing said aggregated select content data.

A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 105 wherein said enterprise designated filter screens data for an enterprise policy from the group of enterprise policies including level of service policy, customer privacy policy, supplier privacy policy, enterprise human resource privacy policy, financial data handling policy, public company reporting policy, health care regulation policy, technical innovation policy, competitive reporting policy and document or data retention policy.

A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 106 wherein, prior to activating said designated categorical filter, said data input is processed at said server through a screening taxonomical classification filter which output activates said at least one designated categorical filter for said data input.

108. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 107 including activating several categorical filters based upon said screening taxonomical classification filter output.

109. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 105 wherein said further data input is the same as said data input.

110. A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 105 wherein said result of said further data processed by said activated categorical filter indicates the presence or absence of select content or aggregated select content.

activating at said server computer at least one of said designated categorical filters and processing a data input therethrough to obtain said select content and associated select content, which associated select content is at least one of contextually associated select content and taxonomically associated select content, as aggregated select content;

effecting the storage of said aggregated select content for said at least one categorical filter in said corresponding select content data store;

for said activated categorical filter, associating at least one data process from the group of data processes including a copy process, a data extract process, a data archive process, a data distribution process and a data destruction process;

applying the associated data process at said server to a further data input based upon a result of said further data processed by said activated categorical filter utilizing said aggregated select content data.

A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 124 wherein said designated filter is an enterprise designated filter which screens data for an enterprise policy from the group of enterprise policies including level of service policy, customer privacy policy, supplier privacy policy, enterprise human resource privacy policy, financial data handling policy, public company reporting policy, health care regulation policy, technical innovation policy, competitive reporting policy and document or data retention policy.

A method of organizing and processing data in a distributed computing system having security sensitive content and select content, said security sensitive content represented by one or more security sensitive words, characters, images, data elements or data objects therein, said security sensitive content having a plurality of security levels, each security level having an associated security clearance, said select content represented by one or more predetermined words, characters, images, data elements or data objects, said distributed computing system being a client-server computer system with at least one server computer and having a plurality of extract data stores for respective ones of said plurality of security levels and having a plurality of select content data stores for respective ones of a plurality of enterprise designated filters, said plurality of extract data stores and said select content data stores operatively coupled to said server and to at least one client computer over a communications network, the method of organizing and processing data comprising:

extracting at said server computer said security sensitive content from a data input to obtain extracted security sensitive data for a corresponding security level and remainder data;

effecting the storage of said extracted security sensitive data for said corresponding security level in a respective security sensitive extract store and storing said remainder data in said distributed computer system;

limiting distribution of said data input via said server computer with respect to said distributed computing system based upon throughput from at least one of said enterprise designated filters; and

,

controlling release of corresponding extracted security sensitive data via said server computer from said respective extract stores with said associated security clearances for corresponding security levels.

A method of organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 132 wherein limiting distribution of said data input includes at least one data process from the group of data processes including a copy process, a data extract process, a data archive process, a data destruction process, an inter-enterprise data distribution process, an intra-enterprise data distribution process, a denial data distribution process, and a limited data distribution process.

a plurality of select content data stores for respective ones of a plurality of enterprise designated categorical filters which include content-based filters, contextual filters and taxonomic classification filters, said plurality of select content data stores and enterprise designated categorical filters operatively coupled over said communications network;

a processor activating at least one of said enterprise designated categorical filters and processing a data input therethrough to obtain said select content, and contextually associated select content and taxonomically associated select content as aggregated select content;

means for storing said aggregated select content for said at least one categorical filter in said corresponding select content data store;

means for associating, for said activated categorical filter, at least one data process from the group of data processes including a copy process, a data extract process, a data archive process, a data distribution process and a data destruction process;

said processor having means for applying the associated data process to a further data input based upon a result of said further data processed by said activated categorical filter utilizing said aggregated select content data.

A computer system for organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 142 wherein said enterprise designated filter screens data for an enterprise policy from the group of enterprise policies including level of service policy, customer privacy policy, supplier privacy policy, enterprise human resource privacy policy, financial data handling policy, public company reporting policy, health care regulation policy, technical innovation policy, competitive reporting policy and document or data retention policy.

A computer system for organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 143 including a screening taxonomical classification filter and means for processing, prior to activating said designated categorical filter, said data input through said screening taxonomical classification filter which filter output activates said at least one designated categorical filter for said data input.

means for storing said aggregated select content for said at least one categorical filter in said corresponding select content data store;

means for associating, for said activated categorical filter, at least one data process from the group of data processes including a copy process, a data extract process, a data archive process, a data distribution process and a data destruction process;

said processor having means for applying the associated data process to a further data input based upon a result of said further data processed by said activated categorical filter utilizing said aggregated select content data.

A distributed computing system for organizing and processing data having security sensitive content and select content, said security sensitive content represented by one or more security sensitive words, characters, images, data elements or data objects therein, said security sensitive content having a plurality of security levels, each security level having an associated security clearance, said select content represented by one or more predetermined words, characters, images, data elements or data objects, said distributed computing system operatively coupled to a communications network and comprising:

a plurality of extract data stores for respective ones of said plurality of security levels operatively coupled to said communications network;

a plurality of select content data stores for respective ones of a plurality of enterprise designated filters operatively coupled to said communications network;

means for extracting said security sensitive content from a data input to obtain extracted security sensitive data for a corresponding security level and remainder data;

means for storing said extracted security sensitive data for said corresponding security level in a respective security sensitive extract store and storing said remainder data in said distributed computer system;

means for limiting distribution of said data input with respect to said distributed computing system based upon throughput from at least one of said enterprise designated filters; and

means for controlling release of corresponding extracted security sensitive data from said respective extract stores with said associated security clearances for corresponding security levels.

A computer system for organizing and processing data as claimed in claim 169 wherein means for limiting distribution of said data input includes means for detecting at least one data process from the group of data processes including a copy process, a data extract process, a data archive process, a data destruction process, an inter-enterprise data distribution process, an intra-enterprise data distribution process, a denial data distribution process, and a limited data distribution process.
