Abstract

Extensible reconfigurable media appliance for security and entertainment captures images digitally for storage. Digital effects and filters are applied to incoming video stream on-the-fly or to video data stored in memory. Digital effects and filters are dynamically stored, modified, updated or deleted, providing extensible reconfigurable effects studio. Digital media appliance communicates wirelessly with other media appliances, computers, security systems, video storage, email, chat, cellular services or PDAs to provide seamless integration of captured video stream.

Claims

1. Network extensible reconfigurable media processing of A/V data streams according to non-linear branching points comprising steps:

pre-producing a plurality of A/V data streams from a plurality of network extensible reconfigurable media appliances according to a plurality of non-linear branching points; and

sensing or producing the pre-produced data streams, such that one or more of the network extensible reconfigurable media appliances senses or produces the pre-produced data stream according to the one or more non-linear branching points.

2. Processing of claim 1 further comprising step:

post-producing the sensed or produced data stream, such that one or more of the network extensible reconfigurable media appliance post-produces the sensed or produced data stream according to the one or more non-linear branching points.

3. Network extensible reconfigurable media appliance for processing of A/V data streams according to non-linear branching points comprising:

means for pre-producing a plurality of A/V data streams from a plurality of network extensible reconfigurable media appliances according to a plurality of non-linear branching points; and

means for sensing or producing the pre-produced data streams, such that one or more of the network extensible reconfigurable media appliances senses or produces the pre-produced data stream according to the one or more non-linear branching points.

4. Appliance of claim 3 further comprising:

means for post-producing the sensed or produced data stream, such that one or more of the network extensible reconfigurable media appliance post-produces the sensed or produced data stream according to the one or more non-linear branching points.
