Abstract

A printed circuit board comprises at least one printed circuit board with at least one electrical contact and one circuit board connector. The circuit board connector includes a printed circuit board provided with one or several open tracks on at least one side for connection with electrical contact(s) of the printed circuit board.

Claims

1. A printed circuit board assembly of the type having at least one printed circuit board with at least one electrical contact and a circuit board connector, wherein the circuit board connector comprises a printed circuit board and an open conductive track provided on at least one side of the circuit board connector for connecting with the electrical contact with the printed circuit board.

2. The assembly of claim 1 wherein the conductive tracks are metallic.

3. The assembly of claim 1 where the electrical contacts of the printed circuit board protrude from the printed circuit board to contact the conductive track of the circuit board connector when connected.

4. The assembly of claim 3 wherein the electrical contacts are resilient and designed in such manner to be biased against the track on the circuit board connector.

5. The assembly of claim 4 wherein the circuit board connector and the printed circuit board are connected in a detachable manner by means of the resilient contacts.

6. The assembly of claim 1 wherein the circuit board connector and the printed circuit board are permanently connected to each other.

7. The assembly of claim 1 wherein one of the circuit board connector and the printed circuit board are provided with slots so that the board connector and the printed circuit board can be interlocked when connected.

8. The assembly of claim 1 including a plurality of printed circuit boards connected to the circuit board connector.

9. The assembly of claim 8 including a spacer installed between the printed circuit boards.

10. The assembly of claim 9 wherein the spacer includes guide notches interlocked in connection with the circuit board connector.

11. The assembly of claim 8 where in said plurality of printed circuit boards includes a first printed circuit board and a second printed circuit board, a guide opening formed in the first printed circuit board, and a guide element connected to said second printed circuit board being received through the guide opening when the printed circuit boards are connected by the circuit board connector.

12. The assembly of claim 11 wherein the printed circuit board assembly is installed in a camera housing and the guide element includes a camera lens.

13. The assembly of claim 11 wherein the printed circuit board assembly is installed in a camera housing and the guide element includes a camera lens.

14. The assembly of claim 1 wherein the circuit board connector has a generally U-shaped cross-section formed by a base and a pair of special upstanding board legs.

15. The assembly of claim 14 wherein the circuit boards are disposed at a right angle relative to the connector board legs when connected.

16. The assembly of claim 1 wherein the printed circuit board assembly is installed in a camera housing.

17. The assembly of claim 16 including a camera lens designed as the guide element extending centrally through the guide opening.

18. A printed circuit board assembly comprising:

a first printed circuit board having an electrical contact;

a second printed circuit board having an electrical contact;

a circuit board connector having an open conductive track provided on at least one side of the board connector;

the circuit board connector including a pair of spaced opposing legs between which the first and second printed circuit boards are carried, and the conductive track being carried on the opposing legs;

the electrical contacts of the first and second printed circuit board protruding up from the respective printed circuit boards to engage the conductive tracks on the legs of the circuit board connector.

21. A camera assembly comprising:

a camera housing;

a printed circuit board assembly included in the housing including plurality of printed circuit boards includes a first printed circuit board and a second printed circuit board;

a circuit board connector disposed generally perpendicular to the printed circuit boards being physically and electrically connected;

a guide opening formed in the first printed circuit board, and

a camera lens carried by the second printed circuit board being received through the guide opening when the printed circuit boards are connected by the circuit board connector.

19. The assembly of claim 21 wherein one of the circuit board connector and the printed circuit boards are provided with edge slots so that the board connector and the printed circuit board are interlocked when connected.

20. The assembly of claim 21 including spacers between the first and second printed circuit boards which include edge notches interlocked in connection with the circuit board connector.

22. The assembly of claim 25 wherein the board connector includes a pair of spaced opposing connector legs, and the printed circuit boards are physically connected to the board connector legs and electrically connected to the electrical contacts of the control board.
