Abstract

One embodiment of the present invention discloses a cardio-fitness equipment with a seat that features height adjustment, proximity to handlebars adjustment, and easy removal of the seat for the purpose of exchange with a different user-selected model or for cleaning.

Claims

1. A stationary exercise equipment, comprising:

a frame;

one or more handlebars mechanically attached to said frame;

a seat mechanically attached to said frame; and

means for adjusting a distance from said seat to said one or more handlebars.

2. A stationary exercise equipment, comprising:

a frame;

a seat mechanically attached to said frame; and

means for removing said seat from said frame.

3. A cardio-fitness system, comprising:

a frame;

one or more handlebars mechanically attached to said frame;

a computer running a computer program;

a video monitor in communication with said computer;

a force-resisting pedal-rotation mechanism controlled by said computer program;

a movable member, a motion of said movable member captured by said computer program;

a seat mechanically attached to said frame; and

means for adjusting a distance from said seat to said one or more handlebars.

4. A cardio-fitness system, comprising:

a frame;

one or more handlebars mechanically attached to said frame;

a computer running a computer program;

a video monitor in communication with said computer;

a force-resisting pedal-rotation controlled by said computer program;

a movable member, a motion of said movable member captured by said computer program;

a seat, said seat mechanically attached to said frame; and

means for removing said seat from said frame.

5. A method of exercising, comprising the steps of:

providing a stationary exercise equipment having at least a frame and one or more handlebars;

providing a seat mechanically attached to said frame;

fastening said seat to said frame of said stationary exercise equipment;

exercising on said stationary exercise equipment; and

removing said seat from said frame of said stationary exercise equipment upon completion of exercise.

6. The method of claim 5, further comprising a step of adjusting a distance from said seat to said one or more handlebars.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein said distance from said seat to said one or more handlebars can be selected from an integer number of discrete values.

8. The method of claim 6, wherein said distance from said seat to said one or more handlebars can be continuously adjusted.

9. A stationary exercise equipment, comprising:

a frame,

one or more handlebars mechanically attached to said frame;

a seat mechanically attached to said frame in a first of a plurality of discrete positions, each of the plurality of discrete positions having a different distance between said seat and said one or more handlebars; and

a seat proximity adjusting member, wherein actuating said seat proximity adjusting member allows said seat to be mechanically attached to said frame in a second of the plurality of discrete positions, wherein said second position being different than the first position.

10. The stationary exercise equipment of claim 9 wherein said seat proximity adjusting member includes two springs.

11. The stationary exercise equipment of claim 9 wherein actuating said seat proximity adjusting member involves pulling said seat proximity adjusting member by more than a predetermined distance.

12. The stationary exercise equipment of claim 9 wherein actuating said seat proximity adjusting member involves pulling said seat proximity adjusting member by at least one of two preset distances, wherein a first distance of said two preset distances is greater than a second distance of said two preset distances.

13. The stationary exercise equipment of claim 12 wherein pulling said seat proximity adjusting member by said second distance allows said seat to be removed from said frame.

14. A stationary exercise equipment, comprising:

a frame;

one or more handlebars mechanically attached to said frame;

a seat mechanically attached to said frame in a first of a continuum of positions, each of said continuum of positions having a different distance between said seat and said one or more handlebars; and

a seat proximity adjusting member, wherein actuating said seat proximity adjusting member allows said seat to be mechanically attached to said frame in a second of said continuum of positions, wherein said second position being different than the first position.
