Abstract

The present invention provides a navigation device which includes an obtaining unit that, when updating contents introduction data which introduces the latest updating contents of an arbitrary home page is sent from the outside, obtains the updating contents introduction data, a position information generation unit that generates position information according to the latitude and longitude information included in the updating contents introduction data, and a position registration unit that registers the position information in a predetermined storage unit.

Claims

1. A navigation device comprising:

obtaining means for obtaining the updating contents introduction data, when updating contents introduction data which introduces the latest updating contents of an arbitrary home page is sent from the outside;

position information generation means for generating position information according to the latitude and longitude information included in the updating contents introduction data; and

position registration means for registering the position information in predetermined storage means.

2. The navigation device according to claim 1, further comprising:

position retrieval request means for requesting an external device which has stored therein a position retrieval database to retrieve position information corresponding to a text included in the updating contents introduction data, in the case where the latitude and longitude information is not included in the updating contents introduction data.

3. The navigation device according to claim 1, further comprising:

display control means for displaying a landmark corresponding to the position information on display means, when the position information is registered in the storage means by the position registration means.

4. The navigation device according to claim 3, wherein

in the case where an event period is represented in the updating contents introduction data, the display control means displays the landmark on the display means for only a time period of the event period.

5. The navigation device according to claim 3, wherein

the landmark is an image included in the updating contents of the home page.

6. The navigation device according to claim 1, wherein

the updating contents introduction data is Rich Site Summary (RSS) written in the Extensible Markup Language (XML) format.

7. The navigation device according to claim 1, wherein

the position information is Point of Interest (POI).

8. A position registration method comprising:

an obtaining step of obtaining the updating contents introduction data by obtaining means, when updating contents introduction data which introduces the latest updating contents of an arbitrary home page is sent from the outside;

a position information generation step of generating position information by position information generation means according to the latitude and longitude information included in the updating contents introduction data; and

a position registration step of registering the position information in predetermined storage means by position registration means.

9. The position registration method according to claim 8, further comprising:

a position retrieval request step of requesting an external device which has stored therein a position retrieval database to retrieve position information corresponding to a text included in the updating contents introduction data, in the case where the latitude and longitude information is not included in the updating contents introduction data.

10. The position registration method according to claim 8, further comprising:

a display control step of displaying a landmark corresponding to the position information on display means, when the position information is registered in the storage means by the position registration step.

11. The position registration method according to claim 10, wherein

in the case where an event period is represented in the updating contents introduction data, the display control step displays the landmark on the display means for only a time period of the event period.

12. The position registration method according to claim 10, wherein

the landmark is an image included in the updating contents of the home page.

13. The position registration method according to claim 8, wherein

the updating contents introduction data is Rich Site Summary (RSS) written in the Extensible Markup Language (XML) format.

14. The position registration method according to claim 8, wherein

the position information is Point of Interest (POI).

15. A navigation device comprising:

an obtaining unit that obtains the updating contents introduction data, when updating contents introduction data which introduces the latest updating contents of an arbitrary home page is sent from the outside;

a position information generation unit that generates position information according to the latitude and longitude information included in the updating contents introduction data; and

a position registration unit that registers the position information in a predetermined storage unit.
