Abstract

The present invention comprises, in one embodiment, a system, process or method for controlling, operating or otherwise directing a personal safety mobile notification system having a mobile device adapted to initiate and transmit an alarm notification signal to a network (such as an PLMN network) in the event of an impending emergency or emergency in progress for further emergency processing by the network. In another embodiment, the mobile device of the present invention is adapted to record, collect, store and transmit evidentiary data concerning the emergency event to the network.

Claims

1. A method for controlling, operating or otherwise directing a personal safety mobile notification system, the process comprising the steps of:

introducing at least one mobile device adapted to, upon user interaction, create and transmit an alarm notification signal from the device in the event of an emergency event; and

adapting a network to receive and prioritize the alarm notification signal, the network further being adapted to locate the geographic location of the mobile device and notify emergency personnel of the emergency event and the location of the mobile device in an approximately real-time basis.

The method according to claim 1, wherein the mobile device comprises at least one programmable computer control system and at least one alert triggering device therein, the alert triggering device being in communication with the computer control system, the computer control system being adapted to create and transmit the alarm notification signal over one or more communication signal paths upon engagement of the alert triggering device.

3. The method according to claim 1, wherein the network is selected from the group consisting of a wireless network having a router adapted to receive wireless communication signals, a wired network, and a PLMN network having a tower/base station adapted to receive wireless communication signals.

4. The method according to claim 3, wherein the mobile device is further adapted to transmit a request for geographic global positioning information to the network, and to receive the geographic global positioning information from the network for display on the mobile device.

5. The method according to claim 2, wherein the alarm triggering device further comprises at least one switch, the switch corresponding to a pre-defined emergency event.

6. The method according to claim 4, wherein the alarm notification signal is a text message conforming to SMS protocol standards.

7. The method according to claim 1, further including the steps of adapting the network to transmit, at pre-defined intervals, follow-up emergency data to the mobile device concerning the emergency event.

8. The method according to claim 1, wherein the network is adapted to receive, prioritize and process any data transmitted from the mobile device after the emergency notification signal is received.

9. The method according to claim 1, wherein the network is adapted to calculate and transmit optimized route data to the emergency personnel based on global positioning data.

10. The method according to claim 9, wherein the network is further adapted to control traffic signals along the best route path, to thereby provide emergency personnel an optimized directional route to the emergency based on known current traffic data.

11. The method according to claim 1, wherein the network is in control communication with at least one alarm system in the vicinity of the mobile device, the network being adapted to identify and control localized alarm systems in the geographic vicinity of the mobile device.

12. The method according to claim 1, wherein the network is further adapted to identify secondary mobile devices in the geographic vicinity of the mobile device, and to transmit an emergency signal to each secondary mobile device.

The method according to claim 12, wherein the emergency signal is a mobile phone command selected from the group of commanding the secondary mobile device to engage a pre-defined ringtone concerning the emergency event, and commanding the secondary mobile device to display a text message concerning the emergency event,.

The method according to claim 1, wherein the mobile device further comprises a primary battery and a backup battery in communication with the computer control system, the computer control system adapted to engage the backup battery as a power source if the mobile device is powered off within a certain time after the after the alarm notification signal is transmitted by the device.

The method according to claim 1, further comprising the steps of introducing a secondary transmission device in communication with the mobile device or other nearby secondary transmission device, the secondary transmission device being adapted to command the mobile device to initiate the alarm notification process.

16. The method according to claim 1, further comprising the steps of introducing a secondary transmission device in communication with the network, the secondary transmission device being adapted to initiate and transmit an alarm notification signal to the network.

17. The method according to claim 16, wherein the network is selected from the group of a PLMN network and a localized Wi-Fi router, both the PLMN Network and the router adapted for connection to the Internet.

The method according to claim 17, wherein the secondary transmission device is adapted to be coupled with, or integrated with, clothing worn by a user, and wherein the secondary transmission device is further adapted to include secondary electronics which are adapted to communicate with a nearby mobile device.

The method according to claim 17, wherein the secondary transmission device is adapted to be coupled with, or integrated with, jewelry worn by a user, and wherein the secondary transmission device is further adapted to include secondary electronics which are adapted to communicate with a nearby mobile device.

20. The method according to claim 17, wherein the computer control system further comprises one or more inertial movement means which are adapted to the alarm notification signal when the mobile device is thrown, violently shook or rapidly moved.

21. The method according to claim 1, wherein each mobile device is adapted to record, collect or store evidentiary data and data events regarding an emergency event.

22. The method according to claim 1, wherein each mobile device is adapted to allow each mobile device recording, collecting or storing evidentiary data and data events to transmit such data and data events to secondary mobile devices within the vicinity of the mobile device.

23. The method according to claim 1, wherein each mobile device recording, collecting or storing evidentiary data and data events is adapted to transmit such data and data events to secondary mobile devices within the vicinity of the mobile device.

24. The method according to claim 1, wherein the network is adapted to transmit exit information data to one or more mobile devices in the vicinity of the emergency event.

25. The method according to claim 1, further including the step of allowing the network to selectively engage one or more olfactory systems in the vicinity of the emergency event to generate scents correspond to the location of the emergency event.

26. The method according to claim 1, further including the step of allowing the network to selectively engage one or more audio systems adapted to vary in frequency which functions to direct listeners away from the emergency event.

27. The method according to claim 1, further including the step of allowing the network to selectively engage one or more visual systems adapted to vary in frequency which functions to direct viewers away from the emergency event.

28. The method according to claim 1, further including the step of adapting the mobile device to operate in an alert mode, the alert mode allowing the mobile device to appear inoperable while allowing the device to continue communication with the network.

29. The method according to claim 28, further including the step of adapting the mobile device to operate in an alert mode, the alert mode allowing the mobile device to appear inoperable while allowing the device to continue communication with other nearby mobile devices.

30. A method for controlling, operating and directing a mobile notification system, the method comprising the step of introducing at least one mobile device in communication with a wireless network over one or more communication signal paths, adapting the mobile device to initiate an alarm notification signal in the event of an user emergency, and programming the mobile device transmit a request for geographic global positioning information to the network and receive the geographic global positioning information from the network for display on the mobile device.

The method of claim 30 further comprising the step of adapting the network to receive and prioritize the alarm notification signal, and programming the network to determine the geographic global positioning information of the mobile device and notify emergency personnel of the emergency event and the location of the mobile device.

32. The method of claim 31 further comprising the step of allowing the network to notify secondary mobile communication devices of the emergency event.

33. The method of claim 31 further comprising the step of introducing one or more secondary transmission devices, and providing each secondary transmission device with secondary electronics which are adapted to communicate with a nearby mobile device to initiate an alarm notification signal.

34. The method of claim 31 further comprising the step of programming each mobile device to record, collect or store evidentiary data and data events regarding the emergency event.

35. A personal safety mobile notification system comprising at least one mobile device in communication with a network, the mobile device adapted to, upon user interaction, create and transmit an alarm notification signal from the device in the event of an emergency event in pre-defined geographic vicinity, the mobile device being further adapted to transmit a request for geographic global positioning information to the network, and to receive the geographic global positioning information from the network for display on the mobile device, and the network adapted to receive and prioritize the alarm notification signal, the network further being adapted to determine the geographic global positioning information of the mobile device and notify emergency personnel of the emergency event and the location of the mobile device in an approximately real-time basis.

36. The system of claim 35 further comprising at least one secondary transmission device in communication with the mobile device, the secondary transmission device being adapted to command the mobile device to initiate the alarm notification process.

37. The system of claim 36 wherein the at least one secondary transmission device is in communication with the network, the secondary transmission device being adapted to initiate the alarm notification process.

38. The system of claim 37 wherein the secondary transmission device is adapted to be coupled with, or integrated with, clothing, clothing accessories or jewelry worn by a user, and wherein the secondary transmission device is further adapted to include secondary electronics which are adapted to communicate with a nearby mobile device.

39. The system of claim 37 wherein the network is further adapted to identify secondary mobile devices in the geographic vicinity of the mobile device, and to transmit an emergency signal to each secondary mobile device.

40. The system of claim 39 wherein the emergency signal is a mobile phone command which controls the secondary mobile device to engage a pre-defined ringtone concerning the emergency event, and which commands the secondary mobile device to display a text message concerning the emergency event,.

41. The system of claim 37 wherein each mobile device comprises at least one programmable computer control system and at least one alert triggering device therein, the alert triggering device being in communication with the computer control system, the computer control system being adapted to create and transmit the alarm notification signal over one or more communication signal paths upon engagement of the alert triggering device.

42. The system of claim 41 wherein the network is adapted to transmit, at pre-defined intervals, follow-up emergency data to the mobile device concerning the emergency event.

43. The system of claim 41 wherein the network is adapted to receive, prioritize and process any data transmitted from the mobile device after the emergency notification signal is received.

44. The system of claim 41 wherein the network is adapted to calculate and transmit optimized route data to the emergency personnel based on global positioning data.

45. The system of claim 41 wherein the network is in control communication with at least one alarm system in the vicinity of the mobile device which transmitted the alarm notification signal, the network being adapted to identify and control localized alarm systems in the pre-defined geographic vicinity of the mobile device.

46. The system of claim 35, wherein each mobile device is adapted to record, collect or store evidentiary data.

47. The system of claim 35 wherein the network is selected from the group of a PLMN network and a localized Wi-Fi router, both the PLMN Network and the router adapted for connection to the Internet.

48. An apparatus for controlling, operating or otherwise directing a personal safety mobile notification system over at least one wireless network, the apparatus comprising at least one mobile device in communication with the network over one or more communication signal paths, the mobile device adapted to initiate an alarm notification signal in the event of an user emergency, the mobile device being further adapted to transmit a request for geographic global positioning information to the network and receive the geographic global positioning information from the network for display on the mobile device.

49. The apparatus of claim 48, the network being adapted to receive and prioritize the alarm notification signal, the network further being adapted to determine the geographic global positioning information of the mobile device and notify emergency personnel of the emergency event and the location of the mobile device.

50. The apparatus of claim 49 wherein the network is further adapted to notify secondary mobile communication devices.

51. The apparatus of claim 49, the mobile device further comprising a computer control system and a pre-defined key in communication with the computer control system, the pre-defined key being adapted to initiate and transmit the alarm notification signal to the network.

52. The apparatus of claim 51 wherein the computer control system is adapted to initially receive and store a user'"'"'s alarm voice command, and upon receipt and confirmation of the user'"'"'s alarm voice command, the computer control system is adapted to initiate and transmit the alarm notification signal to the network.

53. The apparatus of claim 49 wherein the network is adapted to transmit, at pre-defined intervals, follow-up emergency data to the mobile device.

54. The apparatus of claim 49 wherein the network is adapted to receive, prioritize and process data transmitted by the mobile device to the network after the emergency notification signal is received by the network.

55. The apparatus of claim 49 wherein the network is further adapted to transmit optimized route data to emergency personnel, and is further adapted to control and change traffic control signals which exist along the path of the optimized route.

56. The apparatus of claim 49 wherein the network is adapted to control localized alarm systems in the geographic vicinity of the mobile device which initiated the alarm notification signal.

57. The apparatus of claim 49 wherein the network is adapted to identify secondary mobile devices in the geographic vicinity of the mobile device which initiated the alarm notification, and attempt to transmit an emergency signal to each secondary mobile device notifying each secondary mobile device of the emergency event.

58. The apparatus of claim 49 wherein the network is adapted to calculate GPS data in relation to one or more mobile devices in the vicinity of the emergency event, and transmit exit information data to the mobile devices, the exit information data being directional data which would allow a user to move away from the emergency location.

59. The apparatus of claim 49 wherein the mobile device is adapted to create, store and transmit a pre-determined text message to the network through the SMS protocol.

The apparatus of claim 49 wherein the mobile device further comprises a bypass battery in communication with the computer control system, the computer control system engaging the bypass battery to power the device if, within a certain time after the alarm notification signal is transmitted by the device, the device'"'"'s main power source either fails or is turned off, thereby allowing the mobile device to continue communication with the network.

61. The apparatus of claim 49 wherein the network is adapted to transmit exit information data to one or more mobile devices in the vicinity of the emergency event.

62. The apparatus of claim 49 wherein the network is adapted to selectively engage one or more olfactory systems in the vicinity of the emergency event to generate scents which correspond to the location or severity of the emergency event.

63. The apparatus of claim 49 wherein the network is further adapted to identify secondary mobile devices in the geographic vicinity of the mobile device initiating the alarm notification signal, and to transmit an emergency signal to each secondary mobile device concerning the emergency event.

64. The apparatus of claim 49 further comprising a secondary transmission device, the secondary transmission device being in communication with the mobile device or other nearby secondary transmission device, the secondary transmission device being adapted to command the mobile device to initiate the alarm notification process.

The apparatus of claim 64, wherein the secondary transmission device is adapted to be coupled with, or integrated with, clothing worn by a user, and wherein the secondary transmission device is further adapted to include secondary electronics which are adapted to communicate with a nearby mobile device.

66. The apparatus of claim 64, wherein the secondary transmission device is adapted to be coupled with, or integrated with, jewelry worn by a user, and wherein the secondary transmission device is further adapted to include secondary electronics which are adapted to communicate with a nearby mobile device.

67. The apparatus of claim 49, wherein each mobile device is adapted to record, collect or store evidentiary data and data events regarding an emergency event.

68. The apparatus of claim 67 wherein each mobile device is adapted to allow each mobile device recording, collecting or storing evidentiary data and data events to transmit such data and data events to secondary mobile devices within the vicinity of the mobile device.

69. The apparatus of claim 68 wherein each mobile device recording, collecting or storing evidentiary data and data events is adapted to transmit such data and data events to secondary mobile devices within the vicinity of the mobile device.

70. The apparatus of claim 69 wherein the network is adapted to transmit exit information data to one or more mobile devices in the vicinity of the emergency event.
