Abstract

A media management system for and method of increasing value of media content are provided wherein content attributes associated with media content are stored, a target entry list is generated, and a resultant scenario calculated with an associated financial figure.

Claims

1. A media management system, comprising:

a storage device adapted to store content attributes associated with media content;

a media management module adapted to compare content attributes stored in the storage device with a target entry list with so as to obtain a resultant scenario with associated financial figure.

2. The media management system of claim 1, wherein the media management module is adapted to compare content attributes stored in the storage device with the target entry list with so as to obtain a plurality of resultant scenarios with associated financial figures.

3. The media management system of claim 2, wherein the plurality of resultant scenarios are ranked according to the associated financial figures.

4. The media management system of claim 1, further comprising a user interface device adapted to allow user entry of information in the target entry list.

5. The media management system of claim 4 further comprising:

a user device consisting essentially of one of a personal computer, wired device, wireless device, mobile device, cell phone, personal data assistant, and electronic tablets,

wherein the user interface device is a component of the user device.

6. The media management system of claim 1, wherein entries in the target entry list consist essentially of one of content element, content source, revenue floor, distribution media, market, demographics, and geographies.

7. The media management system of claim 1, wherein the storage device is adapted to store content attributes associated with media content in a media database.

8. The media management system of claim 1, wherein content attributes comprise content producing resource information, distribution form information, demographic information and geographic information.

9. The media management system of claim 8, wherein the storage device is adapted to store at least one preference flag linking different types of content attributes.

10. The media management system of claim 1, wherein the media management module includes a search engine adapted to obtain the resultant scenario with associated financial figure by accessing the storage device.

11. The media management system of claim 1, further comprising a content composer adapted to integrate media content into a program stream.

12. The media management system of claim 11, wherein the program stream has a format corresponding to a selected distribution media.

13. The media management system of claim 11, further comprising:

a broadcast center adapted to distribute media content,

wherein the content composer is adapted to deliver media content to the broadcast center.

14. The media management system of claim 11, wherein the content composer is adapted to pull selected advertisements from the media management system and integrate selected advertisements into the program stream.

15. A method of determining media attribute selections using an inventory of media attributes stored in a database, comprising:

storing at least one content producing resource in the database;

storing distribution forms in the database;

storing demographic sectors in the database;

storing geographies of interest in the database;

mapping media content to distribution forms, demographic sectors;

geographies of interest; and

calculating at least one revenue estimate associated with scenarios of interest.

16. The method of claim 15, further comprising creating a resultant scenario list containing scenarios in rank order by revenue projection.

17. The method of claim 15, wherein content contains at least one of movies, video clips, print articles, audio clips, news programs, documentary programs, graphics, advertisements, music files, and enhanced media.

18. The method of claim 15, wherein content producing sources include at least one of television networks, movie studios television stations, radio stations, newspaper organizations, and online program providers.

19. The method of claim 15, wherein distribution forms include at least one of video broadcast, audio broadcast, video cable, video satellite, video wireless, audio wireless, print publication, video Internet, audio Internet.

20. The method of claim 15, wherein demographic sectors include at least one of age, gender, education, income, and buying habits.

21. The method of claim 15, further comprising calculating projected costs associated with scenarios of interest.

22. The method of claim 21, further comprising determining net income associated with scenarios of interest.

23. The method of claim 15, wherein at least one content asset is provided with a preference flag.

24. The method of claim 15, wherein a plurality of attributes in different groups are provided with preference flags.

27. The media optimizer system of claim 24, wherein the content distribution optimizer is adapted to calculate the highest value-creating distribution channel from the associated content attributes.

29. The media optimizer system of claim 24, wherein the content distribution optimizer operates on dynamically changing rules to match media content with the value-creating distribution channel of the broadcast center.

30. The media optimizer system of claim 27, wherein the rules include bids from media content distributors.

25. A method of determining media attribute selections using an inventory of media attributes stored in a database, comprising:

storing at least one attribute in the database for each category of content, source of content, distribution, market, demographics and geographies;

determining a revenue pool for selected demographic sub-groups;

determining a content revenue pools for each subgroup;

adjusting the content revenue pools by geographic location;

determining an available revenue after subtracting associated costs;

determining total revenue available for selected inventory items with each of the sub-groups;

determining total revenue for inventory sub-groups across various media;

ranking revenue components; and

calculating revenue estimates associated with each of the scenarios of interest.

28. The media optimizer system of claim 25, wherein the content distribution optimizer matches media content with the highest value-creating distribution channel.

31. The media optimizer system of claim 28, wherein the content distribution optimizer is adapted to match media content with the highest bidder for the media content.

26. A media optimizer system, comprising:

a storage device adapted to store media content and associated content attributes;

a broadcast center adapted to distribute media content; and

a content distribution optimizer adapted to match media content with a value-creating distribution channel of the broadcast center.

32. A method of optimizing media content with a rule set, comprising:

identifying attributes of stored media content;

identifying bids from distributors for stored media content associated;

delivering media content with a bidder to the distributor(s) with the highest bid; and

delivering media content without a bidder to a sales department.

35. The method of claim 32, further comprising:

before responsive media content is distributed, determining whether the responsive media content can be distributed without review.

33. A method of identifying media content value for future sales, comprising:

packaging media content with associated attributes;

storing packaged media content in a database;

setting a price for packaged media content; and

distributing packaged media content to a highest bidder.

34. A method of distributing media content to distributors, comprising:

storing media content attributes;

receiving a request for media content from a distributor;

querying media content attributes for media content corresponding to the request; and

at least one of;

distributing responsive media content immediately available to the distributor; and

distributing responsive media stored in inventory to the distributor.
