Abstract

A mobile communication device includes a processing module that executes a gaming application based on gaming data and that generates display data in response thereto, wherein the gaming data includes first data and second data. A sensor generates the first data in response to the actions of a user. At least one transceiver receives the second data from a remote communication device and that sends the display data to a display device in a gaming mode of operation.

Claims

1. A mobile communication device comprising:

a processing module that executes a gaming application based on gaming data and that generates display data in response thereto, wherein the gaming data includes first data and second data;

a sensor, coupled to the processing module, for generating the first data in response to the actions of a user; and

at least one transceiver, coupled to the processing module, that receives the second data from a remote communication device and that sends the display data to a display device in a gaming mode of operation.

2. The mobile communication device of claim 1 wherein the display data includes split screen data for simultaneous display of a first picture and a second picture and wherein the first picture is based on the first data and the second picture is based on the second data.

3. The mobile communication device of claim 1 wherein the display data includes picture-in-picture data for simultaneous display of a first picture and a second picture and wherein the first picture is based on the first data and the second picture is based on the second data.

4. The mobile communication device of claim 1 wherein the display data includes composite data that is based on the first data and the second data.

5. The mobile communication device of claim 1 wherein the display device includes a home display device.

6. The mobile communication device of claim 1 wherein the display device includes a public display device, and the processing module further generates connection data for establishing a connection with the public display device.

7. The mobile communication device of claim 6 wherein the connection data includes subscription data associated with at least one of:

the mobile communication device, and a user of the mobile communication device.

8. The mobile communication device of claim 6 wherein the connection data includes payment data.

9. The mobile communication device of claim 1 wherein the at least one transceiver includes a wireless telephony transceiver that transceives wireless telephony data with a wireless telephony network in a telephony mode of operation.

10. The mobile communication device of claim 9 wherein the wireless telephony transceiver sends the display data to the display device in the gaming mode of operation.

11. The mobile communication device of claim 1 wherein the at least one transceiver includes a millimeter wave transceiver that sends the display data to the display device in the gaming mode of operation.

12. The mobile communication device of claim 11 wherein the at least one transceiver includes a millimeter wave transceiver that receives the first data from the remote communication device.

13. A method for use in a mobile communication device, the method comprising:

executing a gaming application based on gaming data;

generating display data based on the gaming data, wherein the gaming data includes first data and second data;

generating the first data in response to the actions of a user.

receiving the second data from a remote communication device; and

transmitting the display data to a display device in a gaming mode of operation.

14. The method of claim 13 wherein the display data includes split screen data for simultaneous display of a first picture and a second picture and wherein the first picture is based on the first data and the second picture is based on the second data.

15. The method of claim 13 wherein the display data includes picture-in-picture data for simultaneous display of a first picture and a second picture and wherein the first picture is based on the first data and the second picture is based on the second data.

16. The method of claim 13 wherein the display data includes composite data that is based on the first data and the second data.

17. The method of claim 13 wherein the display device includes a home display device.

18. The method of claim 13 wherein the display device includes a public display device, and the method further comprises:

generating connection data; and

establishing a connection with the public display device.

19. The method of claim 18 wherein the connection data includes subscription data associated with at least one of:

the mobile communication device, and a user of the mobile communication device.

20. The method of claim 18 wherein the connection data includes payment data.
