Abstract

A method and apparatus for signal processing which enable data compression and recovery with high transmission efficiency are disclosed. Data coding and entropy coding are performed with correlation and grouping is used to increase coding efficiency. A method for signal processing according to this invention, the method includes decapsulating the signal received over an Internet protocol network, obtaining data coding identification information from the de-capsulated signal and data-decoding data according to a data coding scheme indicated by the data coding identification information, wherein the data coding scheme includes at least a pilot coding scheme, the pilot coding scheme decodes the data using a pilot reference value corresponding to a plurality of data and a pilot difference value, and the pilot difference value is generated using the data and the pilot reference value.

Claims

1. A method of processing a signal, the method comprising:

receiving broadcast signals including video stream and audio stream from an Internet network, the broadcast signals encapsulated by an internet protocol and decapsulating the encapsulated broadcast signals;

demultiplexing, the broadcast signals into the video stream and the audio stream, the audio stream which include audio data encoded by a data coding scheme;

obtaining data coding identification information from the audio stream; and

decoding the audio data according to the data coding scheme indicated by the data coding identification information,

wherein the data coding scheme includes a pilot coding scheme at least, wherein the pilot coding scheme decodes the audio data using a pilot reference value corresponding to a plurality of data units in the audio data and a pilot difference value, and wherein the pilot difference value is generated using the audio data and the pilot reference value.

The method of claim 1, wherein the data coding scheme further includes a differential coding scheme, the differential coding scheme corresponds to one of a frequency differential coding scheme and a time differential coding scheme, and the time differential coding scheme corresponds to one of a forward time differential coding scheme and a backward time differential coding scheme.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the obtaining step further comprises obtaining entropy coding identification information and the decoding step further comprises entropy-decoding the data using an entropy coding scheme indicated by the entropy coding identification information.

5. The method of claim 3, wherein the entropy decoding scheme is one of a one-dimensional coding scheme and a multi-dimensional coding scheme and the multi-dimensional coding scheme is one of a frequency pair coding scheme and a time pair coding scheme.

7. An apparatus for processing a signal, the apparatus comprising:

a manager receiving broadcast signals including video stream and audio stream from an internet network, the broadcast signals encapsulated by an internet protocol and decapsulating the encapsulated broadcast signals;

a demultiplexer demultiplexing the broadcast signals into the video stream and the audio stream, the audio stream which include audio data encoded by a data coding scheme; and

a decoder obtaining data coding identification information from the audio stream and decoding the audio data according to the data coding scheme indicated by the data coding identification information,

wherein the data coding scheme includes a pilot coding scheme at least, wherein the pilot coding scheme decodes the audio data using a pilot reference value corresponding to a plurality of data units in the audio data and a pilot difference value, and wherein the pilot difference value is generated using the audio data and the pilot reference value.

8. A method of processing a signal, the method comprising:

encoding audio data according to a data coding scheme;

generating data coding identification information indicating the data coding scheme and outputting audio stream including the encoded audio data and the data coding identification information;

multiplexing video stream and the audio stream to broadcast signals; and

encapsulating the broadcast signals according to an internet protocol and transmitting the encapsulated broadcast signals through an internet network,

wherein the data coding scheme includes at least a pilot coding scheme, wherein the pilot coding scheme encodes the audio data using a pilot reference value corresponding to a plurality of data units in the audio data and a pilot difference value, and wherein the pilot difference value is generated using the audio data and the pilot reference value.

9. An apparatus for processing a signal, the apparatus comprising:

an encoder encoding audio data according to a data coding scheme, generating data coding identification information indicating the data coding scheme, and outputting audio stream including the audio data and the data coding identification information;

a multiplexer multiplexing video stream and the audio stream to broadcast signals; and

a manager encapsulating the broadcast signal according to an internet protocol and transmitting the encapsulated broadcast signals through an internet network,

wherein the data coding scheme includes at least one pilot coding scheme, wherein the pilot coding scheme encodes the audio data using a pilot reference value corresponding to a plurality of data units in the audio data and a pilot difference value, and wherein the pilot difference value is generated using the audio data and the pilot reference value.
