Abstract

First topics related to a content page, such as a web page, are identified. Thereafter, second topics related to a first content element, such as advertisements, and a second content element, such as media files, are identified based on the first topics. Common topics are identified that are common to the first and second topics. Based on the common topics, first and second content elements are identified and combined in a bundle that is transmitted to a user requesting the content page.

Claims

1. A method, comprising:

identifying first topics related to a content page;

identifying second topics related to first content elements and second content elements;

identifying common topics common to the first topics and the second topics; and

generating a bundle from the first content elements and the second content elements based on the common topics.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein identifying first topics related to a content page comprises:

receiving one or more of the first topics from a content source associated with the content page.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein identifying first topics related to a content page comprises:

analyzing signals from a content source associated with the content page.

4. The method of claim 3, wherein analyzing signals from the content source comprises:

identifying keywords related to the content page; and

ranking orders of keywords from the content page to generate the first topics.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein identifying second topics related to first content elements and second content elements comprises:

identifying the second topics based on the first topics.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the second topics comprise:

third topics related to the first content elements; and

fourth topics related to the second content elements.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein:

the third topics are identified by analyzing signals from the first content elements; and

the fourth topics are identified by analyzing signals from the second content elements.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein:

the first content elements comprise advertisement content; and

the second content elements comprise media content.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein:

the second content elements comprise video files.

10. The method of claim 1, comprising:

ranking the common topics; and

wherein generating a bundle from the first content elements and the second content elements is based on the ranked common topics.

11. The method of claim 1, wherein generating a bundle comprises:

identifying first content elements and second content elements based on the common topics; and

combining first content elements and second content elements in the bundle.

12. The method of claim 1, wherein generating a bundle comprises:

identifying first content elements and second content elements based on the common topics;

evaluating first content elements and second content elements according to one or more performance parameters; and

combining first content elements and second content elements in the bundle based on the evaluation.

13. The method of claim 12, wherein evaluating first content elements and second content elements comprises:

monitoring an aggregate click-through rate of first content elements and second content elements;

monitoring a click-to-play rate of first content elements and second content elements; and

monitoring an aggregate cost of first content elements and second content elements.

14. The method of claim 13, further comprising:

monitoring a consumption of first content elements and second content elements.

15. The method of claim 12, wherein evaluating first content elements and second content elements comprises:

monitoring the past performance of first content elements and second content elements according to the one or more performance parameters.

16. The method of claim 1, comprising:

transmitting the bundle to a user requesting the content page.

17. A method, comprising:

monitoring a performance of a first bundle of advertisements and media files at a content page; and

generating a second bundle of advertisements and media files if the monitored performance of the first bundle of advertisements and media files is less than a threshold.

18. The method of claim 17, wherein monitoring a performance of a first bundle of advertisements and media files comprises:

evaluating the first bundle of advertisements and media files according to one or more performance parameters.

19. The method of claim 18, wherein evaluating the first bundle of advertisements and media files according to one or more performance parameters comprises:

monitoring an aggregate click-through rate of the advertisements and the media files;

monitoring a click-to-play rate of the advertisements and the media files;

monitoring an aggregate cost of the advertisements and the media files; and

monitoring a consumption of the advertisements and the media files.

20. The method of claim 18, wherein evaluating the first bundle of advertisements and media files according to one or more performance parameters comprises:

determining whether the values of the one or more measured performance parameters do not meet a threshold; and

in response to determining the values of the one or more measured performance parameters do not meet the threshold, adjusting the first bundle of advertisements and media files to generate a second bundle of advertisements and media files based on the measured performance.

21. The method of claim 20, wherein adjusting the first bundle of advertisements and media files to generate a second bundle of advertisements and media files based on the measured performance comprises:

removing advertisements and media files from the first bundle that do not meet the threshold;

identifying additional advertisements and media files; and

combining the additional advertisements and media files in the second bundle.

22. A method, comprising:

identifying first topics related to one or more advertisements;

identifying second topics related to a content page and one or more media files, wherein the media files are selected by a publisher of the content page;

identifying common topics common to the first topics and the second topics; and

selecting one or more advertisements to combine in a bundle with the one or more selected media files based on the common topics.

23. A system, comprising:

a bundle analysis engine configured to;

identify first topics related to a content page;

identify second topics related to first content elements and second content elements; and

identify common topics among the first topics and the second topics; and

a bundler configured to generate a bundle from the first content elements and the second content elements based on the common topics.

24. The system of claim 23, wherein

the first content elements comprise advertisement content data;

and

the second content elements comprise media content data.

29. A system, comprising:

means for identifying first topics related to a content page;

means for identifying second topics related to first content elements and second content elements;

means for identifying common topics among the first topics and the second topics; and

means for generating a bundle from the first content elements and the second content elements based on the common topics.
