Abstract

The present invention provides a method of processing data. The method of processing data includes receiving a broadcasting signal where mobile service data are multiplexed with main service data, extracting transmission-parameter-channel signaling information and fast-information-channel signaling information from a data group within the received mobile service data; obtaining first program table information describing virtual channel information of an ensemble and a service provided by the ensemble using the fast-information-channel signaling information, the ensemble the ensemble corresponding to a virtual channel group of the received mobile service data, obtaining information indicating that second program table information, which describes an additional service provided by the ensemble, is included in the ensemblem and parsing the second program table information according to the obtained information; and providing the additional service by using the second program table information.

Claims

1. A method of processing data, comprising:

receiving a broadcasting signal where mobile service data are multiplexed with main service data;

extracting transmission-parameter-channel signaling information and fast-information-channel signaling information from a data group within the received mobile service data;

obtaining first program table information describing virtual channel information of an ensemble and a service provided by the ensemble using the fast-information-channel signaling information, the ensemble corresponding to a virtual channel group of the received mobile service data;

obtaining information indicating that second program table information, which describes an additional service provided by the ensemble, is included in the ensemblem and parsing the second program table information according to the obtained information; and

providing the additional service by using the second program table information.

The method of claim 1, wherein the second program table information includes at least one of a component level descriptor describing a component in the ensemble, an event level descriptor describing an event in a virtual channel in the ensemble, a virtual channel level descriptor, and an ensemble level descriptor.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the additional service includes at least one of event information of the service provided by the ensemble, data broadcasting information and interactive broadcasting information.

The method of claim 1, wherein the data group includes a plurality of known data sequences, and the transmission-parameter-channel signaling information and the fast-information-channel signaling information are located between the first known data sequence and the second known data sequence of the known data sequences.

5. A digital broadcasting system comprising:

a baseband processor configured to receive a broadcasting signal where mobile service data are multiplexed with main service data, and extract transmission-parameter-channel signaling information and fast-information-channel signaling information from a data group within the received mobile service data;

a management processor configured to obtain first program table information describing virtual channel information of an ensemble and a service provided by the ensemble using the fast-information-channel signaling information, the ensemble corresponding to a virtual channel group of the received mobile service data, and parse information indicating that second program table information, which describes an additional service provided by the ensemble, is included in the ensemblem and parse the second program table information according to the obtained information; and

a presentation processor configured to provide the additional service by using the second program table information.

The digital broadcasting system of claim 5, wherein the data group includes a plurality of known data sequences, and the transmission-parameter-channel signaling information and the fast-information-channel signaling information are located between the first known data sequence and the second known data sequence of the known data sequences.

7. The digital broadcasting system of claim 5, the management processor comprising:

a service information handler configure to parse the first program table information and the second program table information; and

a storage unit configure to store the information parsed by the service information handler.

8. The digital broadcasting system of claim 6, the presentation processor comprising:

a presentation controller configured to read the additional service information stored in the storage unit; and

a display module configured to display the read the information on the additional service.

The digital broadcasting system of claim 5, wherein the second program table information includes at least one of a component level descriptor describing a component in the ensemble, an event level descriptor describing an event in a virtual channel in the ensemble, a virtual channel level descriptor, and an ensemble level descriptor.

10. The digital broadcasting system of claim 5, wherein the additional service includes at least one of event information of the service provided by the ensemble, data broadcasting information and interactive broadcasting information.
