Abstract

A display device for deriving geographic location from a GPS signal or the Internet and cross referencing the location with a database to determine the adjustment required to display correct time regardless of time zone and daylight savings time. Thus, a device may be sold and/or transported anywhere in the country and/or world and display the current time.

Claims

1. A method comprising receiving a time signal distributed across multiple time zones and automatically adjusting a time display based on a geographic location automatically determined and a database including geographic locations and time adjustments associated with the geographic locations to correct the displayed time to reflect the current time within the geographic location.

2. The method of claim 1 including using a GPS signal to derive the time and location.

3. The method of claim 1 including using the Internet to derive the time and location.

4. The method of claim 3 including using an IP address from a router coupled to the Internet to derive location and a signal from the Internet to derive the time.
