Abstract

A system, method and apparatus for efficiently accessing Internet resources are disclosed. The system, method and apparatus employ a portable device for receiving and transmitting information such as contact information, voting information and medical information, for example.

Claims

1. A method for providing access to information in a database, the method comprising:

identifying on a portable device a list of at least one user;

receiving a selection of a target user from the list of at least one user;

receiving a selection of information to be transmitted to the target user;

receiving authorization to transmit the information;

transmitting the information to the target user; and

receiving verification of receipt from the target user.

2. The method of claim 1 wherein the receiving verification of receipt comprises authorizing a link by the target user.

3. The method of claim 1 wherein the identifying is based on a location of the at least one user.

4. The method of claim 1 wherein the information comprises medical information.

5. The method of claim 1 wherein the information comprises contact information.

6. The method of claim 1 wherein the receiving authorization Occurs automatically.

7. The method of claim 1 wherein the transmitting the information to the target user comprises connecting to a global communication network.

8. The method of claim 1 wherein the transmitting the information comprises transmitting a link to the information.

9. The method of claim 8 wherein the link provides access to updated information.

10. The method of claim 1 wherein the receiving authorization includes receiving biometric data.

11. A method for providing access to information in a database, comprising:

identifying on a portable device a communication signal from a broadcast media receiver;

receiving a selection of information to be transmitted based on the communication signal from the broadcast media receiver;

receiving authorization to receive the information;

receiving the information;

receiving a response to the information; and

transmitting over a global communication network a response to the information.

12. The method of claim 11 wherein the information comprises a redeemable coupon.

13. The method of claim 11 wherein the information comprises a link to at least one of the group of:

contact information, payment information, voting information, television show information, movie information, and advertisement information for joining a group.

14. An apparatus for providing access to information in a database, comprising:

a processor;

an input device;

an output device;

a receiver;

a transmitter; and

a memory operatively connected to the processor, the receiver, the input device, the output device, the receiver and the transmitter, the memory storing instructions operable with the processor to cause the processor to perform;

presenting on the output device a list of at least one user;

receiving from the input device a selection of a target user from the list of at least one user;

receiving from the input device a selection of information to be transmitted to the target user;

receiving from the input device authorization to transmit the information;

transmitting from the transmitter the information to the target user; and

receiving from the receiver verification of receipt by the target user.

15. The apparatus of claim 14 wherein the receiving verification of receipt comprises authorizing a link by the target user.

16. The apparatus of claim 14 wherein the presenting is based on a location of the at least one user.

17. The apparatus of claim 14 wherein the information comprises medical information.

18. The apparatus of claim 14 wherein the information comprises contact information.

19. The apparatus of claim 14 wherein the receiving authorization occurs manually.

20. The apparatus of claim 14 wherein the transmitting the information to the target user comprises connecting to a global communication network.

21. The apparatus of claim 14 wherein the transmitting the information comprises transmitting a link to the information.

22. The apparatus of claim 21 wherein the link provides access to updated information.

23. The apparatus of claim 14 wherein the receiving authorization includes receiving biometric data.
