Abstract

Systems and methods that facilitate data retrieval in a stateless environment by limiting amount of retrievable data associated with a single client request. A retrieval limitation component partially satisfies a query and retrieves an initial batch of information. Moreover, identifications can further be designated to retrieve additional information if so is required. Accordingly, an application requesting data thru a query can initially be supplied with a limited number of data, which subsequently can be followed by additional data items returned as unique identifiers.

Claims

1. A computer implemented system comprising the following computer executable components:

a data platform that supplies data to a query associated with an application in a stateless environment; and

a retrieval limitation component that retrieves an initial batch of information for the application, and further supplies an option to retrieve additional data.

2. The computer implemented system of claim 1 further comprising unique identifiers that designate the additional data.

3. The computer implemented system of claim 1, the stateless environment includes a web farm.

4. The computer implemented system of claim 1, the data in form of virtual lists of views or paged data or a combination thereof.

5. The computer implemented system of claim 1 further comprising a query processor as part of the data platform.

6. The computer implemented system of claim 5 further comprising a protocol interpretation component that interprets a protocol associate with the data platform.

7. The computer implemented system of claim 5, the protocol interpretation component with an analysis component that analyzes information associated with a header associated with a query.

8. The computer implemented system of claim 7 further comprising an application program interface that interacts with the retrieval limitation component.

9. The computer implemented system of claim 8, the application program interface further comprising an interpreter component that determines type of request by the application.

10. The computer implemented system of claim 8 further comprising an authorization component that determines privileges to the data.

11. The computer implemented system of claim 10 further comprising authorization rules definable by third parties.

12. The computer implemented system of claim 11 further comprising an artificial intelligence component that facilitates data retrieval.

13. A method of retrieving data comprising:

partially satisfying a query submitted by an application as part of a data platform in a stateless environment; and

supplying additional information for the query as unique identifiers.

14. The method of claim 13 further comprising retrieving an initial batch of data from the data platform, in response to a single query by the application.

15. The method of claim 14 further comprising explicitly requesting number of full data items in response to the single query.

16. The method of claim 15 further comprising retrieving data without a requirement to progress through data linearly.

17. The method of claim 15 further comprising retrieving predetermined ranges of data for the query.

18. The method of claim 15 further comprising automatically load balancing between web servers associated with the stateless environment.

19. The method of claim 15 further comprising crafting user experiences in form of list views.

20. A computer implemented system comprising the following computer executable components:

issuing means for issuing a query; and

means for partially satisfying the query and retrieving data to the issuing means.
