Abstract

An apparatus for processing a signal and method thereof are disclosed. Data coding and entropy coding are performed with interconnection, and grouping is used to enhance coding efficiency. The present invention includes the steps of obtaining a group reference value corresponding to a plurality of data included in one group through grouping including first grouping and second grouping and a first difference value corresponding to the group reference value and obtaining the data using the group reference value and the first difference value.

Claims

1. A method of processing a signal, comprising the steps of:

obtaining from the signal a group reference value corresponding to data included in a group through a grouping including first grouping and second grouping and a first difference value corresponding to the group reference value; and

obtaining the data using the group reference value and the first difference value.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the group reference value comprises a first pilot reference value.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the group reference value comprises a difference reference value.

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising the step of decoding at least one of the group reference value and the first difference value.

5. The method of claim 2, wherein the first pilot reference value is determined per the group.

6. The method of claim 5, further comprising the steps of:

obtaining a second pilot reference value corresponding to a plurality of the first pilot reference values and a second difference value corresponding to the second pilot reference value; and

obtaining the first pilot reference value using the second pilot reference value and the second difference value.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the second grouping comprises external grouping for the first grouping.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein the second grouping comprises internal grouping for the first grouping.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein the grouping is performed on the data on at least one of a time domain and a frequency domain.

10. The method of claim 9, wherein the grouping is a domain grouping that groups at least one of the time domain and the frequency domain.

11. The method of claim 9, wherein the time domain comprises one selected from the group consisting of a timeslot domain, a parameter set domain or a data set domain.

12. The method of claim 9, wherein the frequency domain comprises one selected from the group consisting of a sample domain, a sub-band domain, a hybrid domain, a parameter band domain, a data band domain or a channel domain.

13. The method of claim 1, wherein the grouped data comprises either an index or a parameter.

14. The method of claim 13, further comprising the step of reconstructing an audio signal using the obtained parameter.

15. The method of claim 13, further comprising the step of entropy-decoding the first difference value using an entropy table indicated by the index included in one group through the first grouping, wherein the data is obtained using the group reference value and the entropy-decoded first difference value.

16. The method of claim 13, further comprising the step of entropy-decoding the first difference value and the group reference value using an entropy table indicated by the index included in one group through the first grouping, wherein the data is obtained using the entropy-decoded group reference value and the entropy-decoded first difference value.

17. The method of claim 1, wherein grouping information is used in obtaining the data.

18. The method of claim 17, wherein the grouping information includes at least one selected from the group consisting of a position of each group, a number of groups, whether to apply the group reference value to each group, a number of the group reference values, a coding scheme of the group reference value and whether to obtain the group reference value.

19. The method of claim 1, further comprising the step of receiving the grouping information.

20. The method of claim 19, further comprising the step of entropy-decoding the grouping information.

21. The method of claim 19, further comprising the step of data-decoding the grouping information.

22. An apparatus for processing a signal, comprising:

a value obtaining part configurable for obtaining from the signal a group reference value corresponding to data included in one group through grouping including a first grouping and a second grouping and a difference value corresponding to the group reference value; and

a data obtaining part configurable for obtaining the data using the group reference value and the difference value.

23. A method of processing a signal, comprising the steps of:

generating a difference value using a group reference value corresponding to data included in a group through grouping including first grouping and second grouping and the data, wherein the group reference value is obtained from the signal; and

transferring the generated difference value.

24. An apparatus for processing a signal, comprising:

a value generating part configurable for generating a difference value using a group reference value corresponding to data included in a group through grouping including first grouping and second grouping and the data, wherein the group reference value is obtained from the signal; and

an outputting part transferring the generated difference value.

25. The apparatus of claim 24, wherein the outputting part transfers the group reference value and the difference value.

26. A method of processing a signal, comprising the steps of:

obtaining from the signal a group reference value corresponding to data included in a group through grouping including first grouping and second grouping and a first difference value corresponding to the group reference value; and

obtaining the data using the group reference value and the first difference value.

27. The method of claim 26, wherein the first or second grouping comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of internal grouping, external grouping, domain grouping and data grouping.

28. The method of claim 27, wherein the data grouping is performed on a domain group.

29. The method of claim 28, wherein a time domain included in the domain group comprises one selected from the group consisting of a timeslot domain, a parameter set domain or a data set domain.

30. The method of claim 28, wherein a frequency domain included in the domain group comprises one selected from the group consisting of a sample domain, a sub-band domain, a hybrid domain, a parameter band domain, a data band domain or a channel domain.
