1. A display device, comprising:
- a first insulating substrate;
a plurality of sensing lines extending in a first direction on the first insulating substrate and disposed at predetermined intervals thereon;
a second insulating substrate facing the first insulating substrate;
a plurality of sensing spacers formed on the second insulating substrate and operable to make electrical contact with corresponding sensing lines in response to an external pressure applied thereto; and
,a sensing controller operable to detect the resistance of a contact closed loop formed by the contact between at least two sensing spacers and a corresponding pair of sensing lines and to determine the position of the contacted sensing lines in the first direction from the resistance detected.

Abstract
A display device includes a first insulating substrate, a plurality of sensing lines extending in a first direction on the first insulating substrate and disposed at predetermined intervals thereon, a second insulating substrate facing the first insulating substrate, a plurality of sensing spacers disposed on the second insulating substrate and operable to make electrical contact with corresponding sensing lines in response to an external pressure applied thereto, and a sensing controller that detects the resistance of a contact closed loop formed by at least two sensor contacts making contact with a pair of corresponding sensing lines and determines the position of the contacted sensing lines in the first direction from the resistance detected.

11. A method for controlling a display device having a first insulating substrate and a second insulating substrate facing the first insulating substrate, the method comprising:

providing a plurality of sensing lines extending in a first direction on the first insulating substrate and arranged at predetermined intervals thereon; providing a plurality of sensing spacers on the second insulating substrate operable to make electrical contact with corresponding sensing lines in response to an external pressure applied thereto; and
,detecting the resistance of a contact closed loop formed by the contact between at least two sensing spacers and a corresponding pair of sensing lines; and
