Abstract

An embedded web server is disclosed. In one embodiment, a casino gaming system comprises a back end system having one or more servers. One or more gaming machines are operatively connected to the back end system via a network connection and one or more gaming devices operatively connected to at least one gaming machine. The gaming device includes an embedded web server and a web browser in communication with the web server, delivers a management user interface to the web browser for accessing the gaming device.

Claims

1. A casino gaming system comprising:

a back end system having one or more servers;

one or more gaming machines, wherein each gaming machine is operatively connected to the back end system via a network connection;

one or more gaming devices operatively connected to a gaming machine, wherein at least one gaming device is an enhanced gaming device, and the enhanced gaming device includes an embedded web server; and

a web browser in communication with the web server, wherein the web server delivers a management user interface to the web browser for accessing the gaming device.

2. The casino gaming system of claim 1, wherein the management user interface may be configured to be unique to the gaming device into which the web server is embedded.

3. The casino gaming system of claim 1, further comprising an external computer comprising a display, wherein the web browser is presented on the display.

4. The casino gaming system of claim 1, further comprising a mobile web browser for receiving the management user interface delivered by the web server.

5. The casino gaming system of claim 1, further comprising an embedded web page display device, wherein the web browser is presented on the embedded web page display device.

The casino gaming system of claim 1, wherein the enhanced gaming device is a network rack, network bridge, gaming machine, game monitoring unit, video controller, player input mechanism, ticket reader, ticket printer, bill acceptor device, card reader, machine processing unit, overhead signage controller, or game controller.

7. A casino gaming system comprising:

one or more gaming machines operatively connected to a back-end server system via a network connection, wherein each gaming machine comprises one or more gaming devices;

a web server embedded in at least one gaming device; and

a web browser operatively connected to the web server, wherein the web browser displays a management user interface generated by the web server, wherein the management user interface allows for access to a particular gaming device.

8. The casino gaming system of claim 7, wherein the management user interface generated by the web server may be configured to be unique to the gaming device into which the web server is embedded.

9. The casino gaming system of claim 7, further comprising an external computer having a display, wherein the web browser is presented on the display.

10. The casino gaming system of claim 7, further comprising an embedded web page display device, wherein the web browser is presented on the embedded web page display device.

11. The casino gaming system of claim 7, further comprising a mobile component for interfacing wirelessly with one or more web servers, and wherein the web browser is displayed on the mobile component.

12. The casino gaming system of claim 7, wherein the gaming device having an embedded web server is a network rack, network bridge, gaming machine, game monitoring unit, video controller, player input mechanism, ticket reader, ticket printer, bill acceptor device, card reader, machine processing unit, overhead signage controller, or game controller.

13. The casino gaming system of claim 7, wherein the network connection is a wireless connection.

14. A gaming device management system, comprising:

a gaming device comprising an embedded web server;

a web browser in communication with the embedded web server; and

a management user interface, wherein the management user interface is delivered to the web browser from the web server, and wherein the management user interface provides access for managing the gaming device.

15. The gaming device management system of claim 14, wherein the management user interface may be configured to be unique to the gaming device into which the web server is embedded.

16. The gaming device management system of claim 14, wherein the gaming device is a network rack, network bridge, gaming machine, game monitoring unit, video controller, player input mechanism, ticket reader, ticket printer, bill acceptor device, card reader, machine processing unit, overhead signage controller, or game controller.
