Abstract

A navigation device is disclosed. In at least one embodiment, the navigation device includes a storage device to store points of interest (POIs); and an integrated input and display device to display at least one of the stored POIs and to enable selection of the displayed at least one POI; and a processor to execute an action, upon selection of one of the displayed at least one POI, associated with the selected one of the displayed at least one POI.

Claims

1. A navigation device, comprising:

a storage device to store points of interest (POIs); and

an integrated input and display device to display at least one of the stored POIs and to enable selection of the displayed at least one POI; and

a processor to execute an action, upon selection of one of the displayed at least one POI, associated with the selected one of the displayed at least one POI.

2. The navigation device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the action includes causing the integrated input and display device to display further information related to the selected POI.

3. The navigation device as claimed in claim 2, wherein the displayed further information includes at least one element of further selectable information related to the selected POI, wherein upon selection of the at least one element of further selectable information, the processor is used to execute a further action.

4. The navigation device as claimed in claim 3, wherein the further action includes the processor causing the navigation device to establish a communication link using a phone number associated with the selected at least one element of further selectable information for the selected POI.

5. The navigation device as claimed in claim 3, wherein the action includes the processor causing the navigation device to establish an internet communication link with a web-address associated with the selected at least one element of further selectable information for the selected POI.

6. The navigation device as claimed in claim 3, wherein the further action includes the processor determining a navigation route to a location associated with the selected at least one element of further selectable information for the selected POI.

7. The navigation device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the action includes the processor causing the navigation device to establish a communication link using a phone number associated with the selected one of the displayed at least one POI

8. The navigation device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the action includes the processor causing the navigation device to establish an internet communication link with a web-address associated with the selected one of the displayed at least one POI.

9. A navigation device, comprising:

a storage device to store points of interest (POIs); and

an integrated input and display device to display at least one of the stored POIs and to enable selection of the displayed at least one POI, the integrated input and display device displaying, upon selection of one of the displayed at least one POI, further selectable information related to the selected one of the displayed at least one POI.

10. The navigation device as claimed in claim 9, wherein the displayed further selectable information includes at least one element of further selectable information related to the selected POI, and wherein the navigation device further comprises

a processor to execute a further action upon selection of the at least one element of further selectable information.

11. The navigation device as claimed in claim 10, wherein the further action includes the processor causing the navigation device to establish a communication link using a phone number associated with the selected at least one element of further selectable information for the selected POI.

12. The navigation device as claimed in claim 10, wherein the action includes the processor causing the navigation device to establish an internet communication link with a web-address associated with the selected at least one element of further selectable information for the selected POI.

13. The navigation device as claimed in claim 10, wherein the further action includes the processor determining a navigation route to a location associated with the selected at least one element of further selectable information for the selected POI.

14. A method, comprising:

storing points of interest (POIs) in a memory of a navigation device;

displaying at least one of the stored POIs on an integrated input and display device of the navigation device, enabling selection of the displayed at least one POI; and

displaying, upon selection of one of the displayed at least one POI, further selectable information related to the selected one of the displayed at least one POI.

15. The method as claimed in claim 14, wherein the displaying of the further selectable information includes displaying at least one element of further selectable information related to the selected POI, and wherein the method further comprises

executing a further action upon selection of the at least one element of further selectable information.

16. The method as claimed in claim 15, wherein the executing of the further action includes,

causing the navigation device to establish a communication link using a phone number associated with the selected at least one element of further selectable information for the selected POI.

17. The method as claimed in claim 15, wherein the executing of the further action includes,

causing the navigation device to establish an internet communication link with a web-address associated with the selected at least one element of further selectable information for the selected POI.

18. The method as claimed in claim 15, wherein the executing of the further action includes,

determining a navigation route to a location associated with the selected at least one element of further selectable information for the selected POI.

19. A method, comprising:

storing points of interest (POIs) in a memory of a navigation device;

displaying at least one of the stored POIs on an integrated input and display device of the navigation device, enabling selection of the displayed at least one POI; and

executing an action, upon selection of one of the displayed at least one POI, associated with the selected one of the displayed at least one POI

20. The method as claimed in claim 19, wherein the executing of the action includes,

causing the integrated input and display device to display further information related to the selected POI.

21. The method as claimed in claim 20, wherein the displayed further information includes at least one element of further selectable information related to the selected POI, the method further comprising

executing a further action upon selection of the at least one element of further selectable information.

22. The method as claimed in claim 21, wherein the executing of the further action includes,

causing the navigation device to establish a communication link using a phone number associated with the selected at least one element of further selectable information for the selected POI.

23. The method as claimed in claim 21, wherein the executing of the action includes,

causing the navigation device to establish an internet communication link with a web-address associated with the selected at least one element of further selectable information for the selected POI.

24. The method as claimed in claim 21, wherein the executing of the further action includes,

determining a navigation route to a location associated with the selected at least one element of further selectable information for the selected POI.

25. The method as claimed in claim 19, wherein the executing of action includes,

causing the navigation device to establish a communication link using a phone number associated with the selected one of the displayed at least one POI

26. The method as claimed in claim 19, wherein the executing of action includes,

causing the navigation device to establish an internet communication link with a web-address associated with the selected one of the displayed at least one POI.
