Abstract

A method of supporting data retransmission in a mobile communication system is disclosed according to the present invention. A method of supporting a hybrid automatic repeat and request (HARQ) at a user equipment in a mobile communication system comprises transmitting a first packet to a network, receiving a reception status signal for the first packet from the network, obtaining a negative acknowledgement signal (NACK) by decoding the reception status signal, and receiving supplemental control information indicating that the reception status signal is a positive acknowledgement signal (ACK).

Claims

1. A method of supporting a hybrid automatic repeat and request (HARQ) in a mobile communication system, comprising:

receiving a packet from a user equipment;

decoding the received packet;

transmitting a reception status signal for the packet according to the decoding result; and

transmitting, when the received packet is successfully decoded, supplemental control information indicating that the reception status signal is a positive acknowledgement signal (ACK).

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the supplemental control information is included in a message to be transmitted to the user equipment.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the supplemental control information is included in the message in such a way that at least one field of the message is configured to have a predetermined value.

4. The method of claim 2, wherein the supplemental control information is included in a message in such a way that a field having the supplemental control information is added in the message.

5. The method of claim 2, wherein the message is an uplink scheduling grant message.

6. The method of claim 2, wherein the message is a control message.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein the control message is transmitted on an L1/2 control channel or a downlink shared channel (DL-SCH).

8. The method of claim 5, wherein the supplemental control information is represented by one bit.

9. The method of claim 7, wherein the supplemental control information is represented by one bit.

10. The method of claim 6, further comprising allocating uplink resources for the user equipment to transmit the control message.

11. The method of claim 1, wherein the mobile communication system is based on an OFDM or OFDMA scheme.

12. A method of supporting a hybrid automatic repeat and request (HARQ) at a user equipment in a mobile communication system, comprising:

transmitting a first packet to a network;

receiving a reception status signal for the first packet from the network;

obtaining a negative acknowledgement signal (NACK) by decoding the reception status signal; and

receiving supplemental control information indicating that the reception status signal is a positive acknowledgement signal (ACK).

13. The method of claim 12, further comprising determining the reception status signal to be a positive acknowledgement signal (ACK).

14. The method of claim 12, further comprising performing a next procedure on an assumption that the first packet is successfully received by the network.

15. The method of claim 12, wherein the next procedure is to transmit a second packet to the network, the second packet not being a retransmission packet.

16. The method of claim 12, further comprising transmitting a second packet to the network, the second packet not being a retransmission packet.

17. The method of claim 12, wherein the supplemental control information is included in a message to be received from the network.

18. The method of claim 17, wherein the message is an uplink scheduling grant message.

19. The method of claim 17, wherein the control message is received on an L1/2 control channel or a downlink shared channel (DL-SCH).

20. The method of claim 12, wherein the mobile communication system is based on an OFDM or OFDMA scheme.

21. A method of supporting a hybrid automatic repeat and request (HARQ) at a user equipment in a mobile communication system, comprising:

transmitting a first packet to a network;

receiving a reception status signal for the first packet from the network;

receiving an uplink scheduling grant message allocating uplink resources for transmitting a second packet from the network; and

performing a next procedure on an assumption that the first packet is successfully received by the network.

22. The method of claim 21, further comprising obtaining a negative acknowledgement signal (NACK) by decoding the reception status signal.

23. The method of claim 21, wherein the next procedure is to transmit a second packet to the network, the second packet not being a retransmission packet.

24. The method of claim 21, wherein the supplemental control information is included in a message to be received from the network.

25. The method of claim 24, wherein the message is an uplink scheduling grant message.

26. The method of claim 24, wherein the control message is received on an L1/2 control channel or a downlink shared channel (DL-SCH).

27. The method of claim 23, wherein the mobile communication system is based on an OFDM or OFDMA scheme.

28. The method of claim 25, wherein the supplemental control information is represented by one bit.

29. The method of claim 26, wherein the supplemental control information is represented by one bit.

30. A user equipment for supporting a hybrid automatic repeat and request (HARQ) a mobile communication system, the user equipment being adapted to perform the steps of:

transmitting a first packet to a network;

receiving a reception status signal for the first packet from the network;

obtaining a negative acknowledgement signal (NACK) by decoding the reception status signal; and

receiving supplemental control information indicating that the reception status signal is a positive acknowledgement signal (ACK).

31. A user equipment for supporting a hybrid automatic repeat and request (HARQ) a mobile communication system, the user equipment being adapted to perform the steps of:

transmitting a first packet to a network;

receiving a reception status signal for the first packet from the network;

receiving an uplink scheduling grant message allocating uplink resources for transmitting a second packet from the network; and

performing a next procedure on an assumption that the first packet is successfully received by the network.
