Abstract

A method for regulating the velocity of a motor vehicle in a complex traffic situation is presented. The motor vehicle is equipped with a sensor system for recording the environment. In order to regulate the velocity, an at least partially covered object and/or at least one object on an adjacent lane is viewed.

8. A method for regulating the velocity of a motor vehicle in a complex traffic situation, wherein the motor vehicle is equipped with a sensor system to record the environment, and to regulate an at least partially covered object and/or at least one object on an adjacent lane

characterized in that

at least one object is assigned a nominal acceleration, wherein the nominal acceleration is determined depending on the distance and relative velocity to the motor vehicle, and the object with the lowest or most negative nominal acceleration is assessed as being the object with the highest relevance, and the regulation is undertaken on the object with the highest relevance.

9. A method according to claim 8,

characterized in that

an intention to change lanes by the own motor vehicle and/or by an object is recorded.

10. A method according to claim 9,

characterized in that

more than two conditions are provided in order to describe the intention to change lanes.

11. A method according claim 8,

characterized in that

objects are assigned a lower threshold value for a nominal acceleration, wherein the threshold value depends on whether

the object is covered and/or

the object is on its own or on an adjacent land, and/or

a detectable intention of the motor vehicle or of the object to change lanes is present.

12. A motor vehicle with a driver assistance system for the adaptive regulation of the longitudinal velocity of the motor vehicle, wherein the driver assistance system for the adaptive regulation comprises means for performing the method according to claim 8.
