Abstract

In a process for creating media content, media submissions are requested and electronically received from end users and stored in a computer database. The submissions are searched for material to be included in the media content, and cross-checked against the other submissions for originality and timeliness. After the material is selected from one or more submissions, the content is developed and released to an audience for review. The end users whose submission material was included in the released content are rewarded. In one embodiment, third parties are permitted to access and search the submissions on an open exchange. The third parties can bid for rights in submissions on the open exchange. After receiving these bids, they are forwarded to the particular submission'"'"'s end user for acceptance or rejection. Appropriate billing and payment processes are used to bill and pay the parties involved.

Claims

1. An electronic process for tracking the activity of end users, comprising the steps of:

providing solicited and unsolicited formats for end user participation in activities;

electronically tracking the participation of end users;

storing end user participation in a repository;

granting end users awards and/or rewards for their participation in activities; and

redeeming the awards and/or rewards for one or more of cash, entry into contests, entry into sweepstakes, purchase of prizes, and purchase of goods and/or services.

2. The process of claim 1, wherein the quantities of end users'"'"' awards and/or rewards are based on their levels of participation.

3. The process of claim 1, wherein the awards and/or rewards for participation in selected activities further comprise a predetermined quantity of awards and/or rewards.

4. The process of claim 1, wherein the providing further comprises providing one or more electronic formats for user participation in activities.

5. The process of claim 4, wherein the participation format is an interactive format, the interactive format comprising of both synchronous and asynchronous communications.

6. The process of claim 5, wherein the interactive participation format includes at least one of questions and answers formats, questionnaire formats, polling formats, survey formats, game formats and use of service formats.

7. The process of claim 5, including the step of tallying the result of the interactive submission formats by a central controller.

8. An electronic process for creating entertainment media, comprising the steps of:

providing solicited and unsolicited formats for media submissions for inclusion in the entertainment media;

electronically receiving the media submissions from end users;

storing the media submissions in a repository;

searching the media submissions for material to be included in the entertainment media;

selecting material from one or more submissions received from one or more searches;

developing the entertainment media based in part upon the selected one or more media submissions; and

electronically rating the released entertainment media by an audience for its entertainment value.

9. The process of claim 8, further comprising rewarding the end user for submissions that were selected, wherein the amount of the reward is based on the entertainment rating.

10. An electronic process for developing an entertainment, comprising the steps of:

soliciting formatted submissions from end users concerning an entertainment, submission formats comprising question and answer formats, questionnaire formats, polling formats, survey formats, and game formats;

storing received end user submissions in a repository;

tallying one or more end user submissions from the repository to produce an evaluation and/or selection;

developing and/or directing the entertainment in dependence on the evaluation and/or the selection; and

releasing the developed entertainment to an audience.

11. The process of claim 10, wherein the results of the tally comprise quantitative and qualitative information.

12. The process of claim 10, wherein the developing further comprises utilizing the submissions in the development of one or more of character or characters, setting, location, storyline, message, plot, theme, tone, winners and outcome for inclusion in the media content.

13. An electronic process for creating media content, comprising the steps of:

providing solicited and unsolicited formats for wireless media submissions;

electronically receiving the submissions from a wireless device from end users;

storing the submissions from the wireless device in a repository;

selecting one or more wireless submissions;

developing the content based in part upon the selected one or more wireless submissions; and

releasing the media content to an audience.

14. The process of claim 13, wherein providing further comprises electronically requesting media submissions from a wireless device.

15. The process of claim 13, wherein the submission formats further comprise providing one or more electronic submissions formats.

16. The process of claim 15, wherein the submission formats comprise an interactive format, the interactive format comprising of both synchronous and asynchronous communications.

17. The process of claim 16, wherein the interactive submission formats include at least one of questions and answers formats, questionnaire formats, polling formats, survey formats, game formats and use of service formats.

18. The process of claim 17, including the step of tallying the result of the interactive submission formats by a central controller.

19. The process of claim 13, wherein the developing further comprises utilizing the wireless submissions in the development of one or more of character or characters, setting, location, storyline, message, plot, theme, tone, winners and outcome for inclusion in the media content.

20. An electronic process for offering services, comprising the steps of:

providing solicited and unsolicited formats for media submissions;

providing solicited and unsolicited formats for offering services, the services comprising intellectual property information and services and/or agency and sales promotional services;

prior to making a submissions to service providers and/or the host, requiring authorization comprising of one or more of passwords or access codes or biometric devices by the host, end users, and third parties;

receiving service requests from authorized end users;

providing the requested services in a manner so that requesting end users can one or more of protect, promote, sell, and license their media content via electronic resources and/or the connection to qualified parties; and

electronically receiving the submissions from end users.
