Abstract

Disclosed are a network-based device, method and computer-readable medium for operating an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) to provide registration review. The method embodiment includes tracking and storing all current registrations for each user in an IMS system, receiving a request from a user for a status of the user'"'"'s current registrations and presenting, in response to the request, the current status of current registrations for the user.

Claims

1. A method of operating a device in an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), the method comprising:

tracking and storing all current registrations for each user in an IMS system;

receiving a request from a user for a status of the user'"'"'s current registrations; and

presenting, in response to the request, the current status of current registrations for the user.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving an instruction from the user to take an action relative to the user'"'"'s current registrations; and

based on the instruction, taking the action to modify at least one aspect of the user'"'"'s current registrations.

3. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving a request from a customer service agent for the status of the user'"'"'s current registrations; and

presenting to the customer service agent the current status of current registrations for the user.

4. The method of claim 3, further comprising:

receiving an instruction from the customer service agent to take an action relative to the user'"'"'s current registration; and

based on the instructions, taking the action to modify at least one aspect of the user'"'"'s current registrations.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the request is received from a remote device that is not registered to the user in the IMS, further comprising:

presenting to the remote device the current status of current registrations for the user.

6. A network-based device in an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), the method comprising:

a module configured to track and store all current registrations for each user in an IMS system;

a module configured to receive a request from a user for a status of the user'"'"'s current registrations; and

a module configured to present, in response to the request, the current status of current registrations for the user.

7. The network-based device of claim 6, further comprising:

a module configured to receive an instruction from the user to take an action relative to the user'"'"'s current registrations; and

a module, based on the instruction, configured to take the action to modify at least one aspect of the user'"'"'s current registrations.

8. The network-based device of claim 6, further comprising:

a module configured to receive a request from a customer service agent for the status of the user'"'"'s current registrations; and

a module configured to present to the customer service agent the current status of current registrations for the user.

9. The network-based device of claim 8, further comprising:

a module configured to receive an instruction from the customer service agent to take an action relative to the user'"'"'s current registration; and

a module, based on the instructions, configured to take the action to modify at least one aspect of the user'"'"'s current registrations.

10. The network-based device of claim 6, wherein the request is received from a remote device that is not registered to the user in the IMS, further comprising:

a module configured to present to the remote device the current status of current registrations for the user.

11. The network-based device of claim 6, wherein the request from a user further comprises a request from a device at which the user is registered.

12. A computer-readable medium storing instructions for controlling a network-based device in an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) to provide registration review to a user, the instructions comprising:

tracking and storing all current registrations for each user in an IMS system;

receiving a request from a user for a status of the user'"'"'s current registrations; and

presenting, in response to the request, the current status of current registrations for the user.

13. The computer-readable medium of claim 12, further comprising:

receiving an instruction from the user to take an action relative to the user'"'"'s current registrations; and

based on the instruction, taking the action to modify at least one aspect of the user'"'"'s current registrations.

14. The computer-readable medium of claim 12, further comprising:

receiving a request from a customer service agent for the status of the user'"'"'s current registrations; and

presenting to the customer service agent the current status of current registrations for the user.

15. The computer-readable medium of claim 14, further comprising:

receiving an instruction from the customer service agent to take an action relative to the user'"'"'s current registration; and

based on the instructions, taking the action to modify at least one aspect of the user'"'"'s current registrations.

16. The computer-readable medium of claim 12, wherein the request is received from a remote device that is not registered to the user in the IMS, further comprising:

presenting to the remote device the current status of current registrations for the user.

17. The method of claim 12, wherein the request from a user further comprises a request from a device at which the user is registered.
