1. A data entry system using a number of different input signals provided by interacting with input means such as keys wherein:

  • a number of characters, including substantially all letters of alphabet of one language, are distributively assigned to four of said input signals such that at least two of said letters are ambiguously assigned to one of said four input signals,said data entry system includes a database of words and uses a word predictive system such that in order to enter a word of said database the user provides input information in the form of the input signals corresponding to the characters, generally the letters, of said word through said four input signals, and wherein the system provides a word of the dictionary that corresponds to said input information, andsaid letters of alphabet are distributively assigned to said four input signals such as to increase the accuracy of recognizing the user'"'"'s desired word by the system, based on the input information alone.
