Abstract

A system of exchanging and managing information includes a mobile device configured to automatically insert, exchange and update a caller'"'"'s contact information into a user'"'"'s phonebook. The phonebook can reside on either the UICC card, SIM, USIM, Mega SIM, any other smart card or an integrated chip, on the mobile device or on a remote server. The automatic insert and/or automatic exchange mechanism is triggered when a call is made between two people on mobile phones or other devices.

Claims

1. An information management system comprising:

a first user device having an address book;

a second user device having an address book and configured to interface with the first user device over a wireless network; and

an application module configured to enable the first user device to send information associated with a first user over the wireless network to the second user device address book upon a communication between the first user device and the second user device.

2. The information management system of claim 1 wherein the application module is configured to detect a communication event in at least one of the first user device or the second user device.

3. The information management system of claim 2 wherein the first user device is configured to send information associated with the first user to the second user device in association with a detection of the communication event by the application module.

4. The information management system of claim 2 wherein the first user device is configured to prompt a first user to send information associated with the first user to the second user device in association with a detection of the communication event by the application module.

5. The information management system of claim 1 wherein the application module is configured to insert the information associated with the first user into the second user device address book.

6. The information management system of claim 1 wherein the application module is configured to prompt the second user to insert the information associated with the first user into the second user device address book.

7. The information management system of claim 1 wherein the application module is configured to prompt the first user to update first user information in the first user device.

8. The information management system of claim 1 wherein the first user device is configured to send an updated information message to the second user device to update the information associated with the first user in the second user device address book.

9. The information management system of claim 1 wherein the application module is configured to insert an updated information message into the second user device address book.

10. The information management system of claim 1 wherein the application module is configured to prompt the second user to insert an updated information message into the second user device address book.

11. The information management system of claim 1 wherein the first device includes a smart device comprising one of a Subscriber Identity Module, a UMTS Subscriber Identity Module, a smart card or an embedded chip, and wherein the smart device is configured to include the first user address book.

12. The information management system of claim 11 wherein the second device includes a smart device comprising one of a Subscriber Identity Module, a UMTS Subscriber Identity Module, a smart card or an embedded chip, and wherein the smart device is configured to include the second user address book.

13. The information management system of claim 12 wherein the first user device is configured to send information related to the first user to the smart device of the second user device.

14. The information management system of claim 1 wherein the application module is configured to detect a call identifier of the communication to determine whether the calling number is a mobile device call identifier.

15. The information management system of claim 1 wherein the application module is configured to:

detect a format for a second user identifier stored in the first user device after the communication event; and

format the second user contact identifier when the second user contact identifier is not in a correct dialing format.

16. The information management system of claim 1 wherein the application module is configured to determine a frequency of the communication between the first user device and the second user device.

17. The information management system of claim 16 wherein when the frequency of the communication between the first user device and the second user device exceeds a threshold, the application module is configured to prompt the first user to send an updated information message to the second user.

18. The information management system of claim 1 wherein the application module is configured to determine whether a roaming restriction applies to the first user device before the first user device sends the first user information over the wireless network.

19. The information management system of claim 1 wherein the first application module is configured to allow entry of a permission level for the information stored in the first user device.

20. The information management system of claim 19 wherein the first application module is configured to send information associated with the first user device that corresponds to the permission level to the second user device.

21. The information management system of claim 19 wherein the first application module is configured to store the permission level that corresponds to the second user device.

22. The information management system of claim 21 wherein the first application module is configured to store a sent record to indicate a time of sent data, a destination number and a permission level.
