Storage System
First Claim
1. A storage system to which a plurality of servers that manage data stored in a plurality of volumes is connected via a network, the servers exchanging data via the network, wherein:
- the servers each include a first volume for storing data for a file and a second volume for storing data relating to the file; and
in the servers, a migration-source server managing a file as a target for a request from a client connected to the network transfers the file data stored in the first volume and the data stored in the second volume to a migration-destination server, the migration-destination server reconstructs, based on the transferred data, snapshot volume data that is virtually constructed from a file image at a certain time in the past for the file stored in the first volume, and transfers to the client, based on the request from the client, response information for responding to the request from the client.

Abstract
In a storage system in which plural end servers 104, intermediate servers 103 and clients 101 are connected to each other via a network 106, when a migration-source end server 104 transfers file-level data to a migration-destination end server 104 via the intermediate server 103, the migration-source end server 104 also transfers data in a differential volume simultaneously, and the migration-destination end sever 104 reconstructs data in a snapshot volume based on the transferred data and transfers response information regarding the reconstructed data to the client 101.
