Abstract

The presently claimed invention relates to deriving or extracting information from audio, images and video. One claim recites a method of operating a network filter. The network includes a plurality of network nodes, the network filter is for filtering video or audio. The method includes: monitoring video or audio traffic to a particular network node; identifying a first video or audio at the particular network node through deriving identifying data from data representing the first video or audio, the deriving utilizes at least one programmed multi-purpose computer processor; determining additional information associated with the first video or audio based at least in part on the identifying information; and notifying the network node of the presence of the additional information.

Claims

1. A method of registering an image or video captured from an aerial platform in a computerized registry, the image or video comprising a digital watermark embedded therein, the digital watermark comprising an identifier, the digital watermarking embedded in the image or video through relatively slight alterations to data representing the image or video, said method comprising:

storing the image or video in the computerized registry so as to be retrievable based on the identifier;

employing at least one multi-purpose computer processor programmed to automatically search computer databases for information associated with the identifier, the computer databases being distinct from the image or video; and

upon finding additional information that is associated with the identifier, associating the additional information with the image or video via the digital watermark identifier.

2. The method of claim 1 wherein the identifier comprises a geo-location associated with an area depicted in the image or video.

3. The method of claim 2 wherein the additional information comprises information associated with the geo-location associated with the area depicted in the image or video.

4. A programmed computing device storing instructions in memory, said instructions are executable by said programmed computing device to perform the acts of claim 1.

5. A computer readable media comprising instructions stored thereon to cause a multi-purpose computer processor to perform the acts of claim 1.

A method of registering an image or video captured from an aerial platform in an imagery registry, the image or video comprising a digital watermark embedded therein, the digital watermark comprising an identifier, the digital watermarking embedded in the image or video through relatively slight alterations to data representing the image or video, said method comprising:

storing the image or video in the registry so as to be retrievable based on the identifier;

employing at least one multi-purpose computer processor configured to automatically search computer databases for information associated with the identifier, wherein the identifier comprises a key word, and said searching comprises providing the key word to a search engine associated with the computer databases; and

upon finding additional information that is associated with the identifier, associating the additional information with the image or video via the digital watermark identifier.

7. A programmed computing device storing instructions in memory, said instructions are executable by said programmed computing device to perform the acts of claim 6.

8. A computer readable media comprising instructions stored thereon to cause a multi-purpose computer processor to perform the acts of claim 6.

9. A method of operating a network filter, the network comprising a plurality of network nodes, the network filter for filtering video or audio, said method comprising:

monitoring video or audio traffic to a particular network node;

identifying a first video or audio at the particular network node through deriving or extracting identifying data from data representing the first video or audio, the deriving or extracting utilizes at least one programmed multi-purpose electronic processor;

determining additional information associated with the first video or audio based at least in part on the identifying information; and

notifying the network node of the presence of the additional information.

10. The method of claim 9 wherein the additional information comprises a recently uploaded video or audio file corresponding to the first video or audio file.

11. A programmed computing device storing instructions in memory, said instructions are executable by said programmed computing device to perform the acts of claim 9.

12. A computer readable media comprising instructions stored thereon to cause a multi-purpose electronic processor to perform the acts of claim 9.

13. A method of scheduling an alert to announce the presence of available information associated with video or audio, said method comprising:

receiving identifying data from a remotely located computerized device, the remotely located computerized device including at least one multi-purpose processor, wherein the identifying data is obtained through deriving or exacting attributes from data representing the video or audio with at least a multi-purpose processor;

monitoring data records associated with the identifying data; and

upon identifying updated information associated with the identifying data, sending a message or alert to the remotely located computerized device announcing the availability of the updated information.

14. The method of claim 13 wherein said deriving or exacting utilizes digital watermarking.

15. A programmed computing device storing instructions in memory, said instructions are executable by said programmed computing device to perform the acts of claim 13.

16. A computer readable media comprising instructions stored thereon to cause a multi-purpose computer processor to perform the acts of claim 13.

17. A method comprising:

receiving data representing audio signals; and

utilizing a configured electronic processor, encoding the data with multiple instances of a digital watermark, wherein each instance of the digital watermark varies to indicate geolocation information associated with digital watermark instances encoded within the data, and

wherein the audio signals represent sensed activity associated with one or more geo-locations, and each instance of the digital watermark is associated with one or more geo-locations.

18. A programmed computing device storing instructions in memory, said instructions are executable by said programmed computing device to perform the acts of claim 17.

19. A computer readable media comprising instructions stored thereon to cause an electronic processor to perform the acts of claim 17.

20. A method of registering an audio signal in a registry, the audio signal comprising a digital watermark embedded therein, the digital watermark comprising an identifier, the digital watermarking embedded in the audio signal through relatively slight alterations to data representing the audio signal, said method comprising:

storing the audio signal in the registry so as to be retrievable based on the identifier;

employing at least one processor to automatically search one or more computer databases for information associated with the identifier, the computer databases being distinct from the audio signal, and the information comprising information related to audio signal capture or capture location; and

upon finding additional information that is associated with the identifier, associating the additional information with the audio signal via the digital watermark identifier.

21. A programmed computing device storing instructions in memory, said instructions are executable by said programmed computing device to perform the acts of claim 20.

22. A computer readable media comprising instructions stored thereon to cause an electronic processor to perform the acts of claim 20.
