1. An electric braking system for a road vehicle that includes:

  • at least two wheels (1) each connected for rotation to at least one rotary electric machine (2), with each rotary electric machine (2) cooperating with a single wheel; and

    at least one electronic wheel control module (23) each controlling an electric machine of a corresponding wheel, and each electronic wheel control module enabling a control torque of a determined amplitude and sign to be imparted selectively to a corresponding wheel, such that the corresponding wheel imparts to the vehicle a drive force or a braking force in accordance with the control torque, wherein the electric braking system comprises at least two sub-systems (A and B) connected to a central electric line (40), each of the sub-systems including;

    a part of the wheels (1),the electronic control modules (23) associated with each wheel of the part,a dissipation device controlled by an electronic dissipation module (60A, 60B), andan overcurrent protection device (41A, 41B) for electrically isolating the sub-system from the central electric line (40).
