Abstract

In various embodiments, a method includes receiving a request to initiate recording of media content of an event. The method also includes controlling capturing of the media content by a capture machine in response to the received request. The method includes opening a chat session among one or more persons that are listeners or viewers of the event being captured, wherein the opening is in response to the request to initiate recording of the media content. The chat session comprises one or more entries that include a chat input from the one or more persons and a timecode of the chat input. The method includes receiving a request to stop recording of the media content of the event. The method also includes combining at least a subset of the one or more entries of the chat session with the media content using the time code of the one or more entries.

Claims

1. A computerized method comprising:

receiving a request to initiate playback of media content of an event;

initiating the output of the media content for playback;

opening a chat session among one or more persons that are listeners or viewers of the playback of the media content, wherein the opening is in response to the request to initiate the playback of the media content of the event, wherein chat data is recorded in response to opening the chat session, the chat data comprising one or more entries that include a chat input from the one or more persons and a timecode of the chat input;

combining at least a subset of the one or more entries of the chat data with the media content to generate an integrated media content, using the time code of the one or more entries; and

storing the integrated media content in a machine-readable medium.

2. The computerized method of claim 1, wherein combining of at least the subset of the one or more entries with the media content occurs after the output of the media content is complete and the chat session is closed.

3. The computerized method of claim 1, wherein the one or more entries of the chat session comprises a transcription of audio of the event.

4. The computerized method of claim 1, wherein combining of at least the subset of the one or more entries of the chat data with the media content comprises rendering at least the subset the one or more entries of the chat data onto the media content,

5. The computerized method of claim 1, wherein combining of at least the subset of the one or more entries of the chat data with the media content comprises storing at least the subset of the one or more entries of the chat data as caption data within the media content.

6. The computerized method of claim 5, wherein storing the one or more entries of the chat session as caption data within the media content comprises storing the one or more entries into metadata of the media content.

7. The computerized method of claim 1, wherein the chat input comprises at least one of an image or a video.

8. The computerized method of claim 1, wherein the media content of the event was recorded prior to the receiving of the request to initiate at least one of listening or viewing of media content of the event.

9. A computerized method comprising:

receiving a request to initiate recording of media content of an event;

controlling capturing of the media content by a capture machine in response to the received request;

opening a chat session among one or more persons that are listeners or viewers of the event being captured, wherein the opening is in response to the request to initiate recording of the media content, the chat session comprising one or more entries that include a chat input from the one or more persons and a timecode of the chat input;

receiving a request to stop recording of the media content of the event;

combining at least a subset of the one or more entries of the chat session with the media content using the time code of the one or more entries; and

storing the combined media content in a machine-readable medium.

10. The computerized method of claim 9, further comprising transmitting invite requests to the chat session to client devices of the one or more persons, wherein the transmitting is in response to the request to initiate the recording of the media content.

11. The computerized method of claim 9, wherein combining at least a subset of the one or more entries of the chat session with the media content comprises rendering at least a subset of the one or more entries of the chat session onto the media content.

12. The computerized method of claim 9, wherein combining at least a subset of the one or more entries of the chat session with the media content comprises storing at least a subset of the one or more entries of the chat session as caption data within the media content.

13. The computerized method of claim 12, wherein storing at least a subset of the one or more entries of the chat session as caption data within the media content comprises storing at least a subset of the one or more entries into metadata of the media content.

14. The computerized method of claim 9, wherein the media content comprises video data.

15. The computerized method of claim 9, wherein the chat input comprises at least one of an image or a video.

16. The computerized method of claim 9, further comprising closing the chat session, in response to the request to stop recording.

17. The computerized method of claim 16, wherein closing the chat session is also in response to all of the one or more persons leaving the chat session.

18. The computerized method of claim 9, wherein at least part of the chat session is open during a time when the event is occurring.

19. A machine-readable medium including instructions, which when executed by a machine cause the machine to perform operations comprising:

receiving media content that comprises a recording of an event;

receiving chat data comprising one or more entries that include a chat input from one or more persons and a timecode of the chat input, wherein the chat input was received while the one or more persons viewed or listened to the event or a playback of the recording of the event;

combining at least a subset of the one or more entries of the chat data with the media content to generate an integrated media content, wherein the combining is time-synced using the time code of the one or more entries; and

storing the integrated media content in a machine-readable medium.

20. The machine-readable medium of claim 19, wherein the one or more entries of the chat session comprises at least one of a transcription or a translation of audio of the event.

21. The machine-readable medium of claim 19, wherein combining at least a subset of the one or more entries of the chat data with the media content comprises rendering the one or more entries of the chat data onto the media content.

22. The machine-readable medium of claim 19, wherein combining at least a subset of the one or more entries of the chat data with the media content comprises storing at least a subset of the one or more entries of the chat data as caption data within the media content.

23. A system comprising:

a first server configured to initiate an opening of a chat session in response to a recording of an event into a media content, the chat session among one or more persons that are at least one of a listener or a viewer of the event, wherein chat data is recorded in response to the opening of the chat session, the chat data comprising one or more entries that include a chat input from the one or more persons and a timecode of the chat input.

24. The system of claim 23, further comprising a second server configured to combine, using the time code of the one or more entries, the media content with at least a subset of the one or more entries of the chat data to generate an integrated media content.

25. The system of claim 24, wherein the media content is time synced with at least a subset of the one or more entries of the chat data using the time code of the one or more entries.

26. The system of claim 24, wherein the second server is configured to combine the media content with at least a subset of the one or more entries of the chat data after the event is complete and the chat session is closed.

27. The system of claim 24, wherein the one or more entries of the chat session comprises a transcription of audio of the event.

28. The system of claim 24, wherein the second server is configured to generate the integrated media content as a rendering of at least a subset of the one or more entries of the chat data onto the media content.

29. The system of claim 24, wherein the second server is configured to generate the integrated media content with at least a subset of the entries of the chat data stored as caption data within the media content.

30. The system of claim 24, wherein the chat input comprises at least one of an image or a video.
