Abstract

An antenna assembly for a portable device is provided. The antenna assembly includes a battery cover including a metal material, a short-range wireless communication module electrically connected to the battery cover, and a main antenna electrically connected to the short-range communication module.

Claims

1. An antenna assembly of a portable device, the assembly comprising:

a battery cover, at least one part of the battery cover, comprising a metal material;

a short-range communication module electrically connected to the battery cover; and

a main antenna electrically connected to the short-range communication module.

2. The assembly of claim 1, wherein the main antenna is located at one side of a battery case.

3. The assembly of claim 1, wherein the short-range communication module is mounted on a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card.

4. The assembly of claim 3, wherein the short-range communication module is a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) module.

5. The assembly of claim 1, further comprising:

a case coupled to the battery cover;

a placement part located at one side of the case; and

a SIM card interface located at one side of the case where a SIM card including a short-range communication module is mounted.

6. The assembly of claim 5, wherein the battery cover comprises:

a cover body for covering at least one part of the case;

a hole located at one side of the cover body;

an auxiliary structure mounted in the hole; and

a first cover pad and a second cover pad located at one side of the cover body and connected to antenna leads located at the SIM card.

7. The assembly of claim 6, wherein the case comprises:

a first case pad and a second case pad connected to the first cover pad and the second cover pad, respectively; and

a first signal line and a second signal line for connecting interface antenna leads of the SIM card interface to the first case pad and the second case pad.

8. The assembly of claim 6, wherein the auxiliary structure comprises a non-metal material.

9. The assembly of claim 5, further comprising:

a battery connecting interface located at the placement part;

a battery connected to the battery connecting interface; and

signal lines connecting leads of the battery connecting interface and leads of the SIM card interface, respectively.

10. The assembly of claim 9, wherein the battery cover comprises:

a cover body for covering at least one part of the case;

a hole located at one side of the cover body;

an auxiliary structure mounted in the hole; and

a first cover pad and a second cover pad located at one side of the cover body and connected to antenna leads located at the SIM card,

wherein the case comprises;

a first case pad and a second case pad connected to the first cover pad and the second cover pad, respectively, and

a first signal line and a second signal line for connecting interface antenna leads of the battery connecting interface to the first case pad and the second case pad.

11. The assembly of claim 10, wherein the auxiliary structure comprises a non-metal material.

12. An antenna assembly of a portable device, the assembly comprising:

a battery cover, at least one part of the battery cover, comprising a metal material;

a short-range communication module electrically connected to the battery cover;

a main antenna electrically connected to the short-range communication module;

a case coupled to the battery cover;

a placement part located at one side of the case; and

a SIM card interface located at one side of the case where a SIM card including a short-range communication module is mounted.

13. The assembly of claim 12, wherein the main antenna is located at one side of a battery case.

14. The assembly of claim 12, wherein the short-range communication module is mounted on a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card.

15. The assembly of claim 14, wherein the short-range communication module is a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) module.

16. The assembly of claim 12, wherein the battery cover comprises:

a cover body for covering at least one part of the case;

a hole located at one side of the cover body;

an auxiliary structure mounted in the hole; and

a first cover pad and a second cover pad located at one side of the cover body and connected to antenna leads located at the SIM card.

17. The assembly of claim 16, wherein the case comprises:

a first case pad and a second case pad connected to the first cover pad and the second cover pad, respectively; and

a first signal line and a second signal line for connecting interface antenna leads of the SIM card interface to the first case pad and the second case pad.

18. The assembly of claim 16, wherein the auxiliary structure comprises a non-metal material.

19. The assembly of claim 12, further comprising:

a battery connecting interface located at the placement part;

a battery connected to the battery connecting interface; and

signal lines connecting leads of the battery connecting interface and leads of the SIM card interface, respectively.
