Abstract

A method for detecting a character or a word emphasized by a user from a voice inputted in a mobile terminal to refer it as meaningful information for a voice recognition, or emphatically displaying the user-emphasized character or word in a pre-set format when the inputted voice is converted into text, and a mobile terminal implementing the same are disclosed. The mobile terminal includes: a microphone to receive a voice of user; a controller to convert the received voice into corresponding text and detect a character or a word emphatically pronounced by the user from the voice; and a display unit to emphatically display the detected character or word in a pre-set format when the converted text is displayed.

Claims

1. A mobile terminal, comprising:

a microphone configured to receive a voice of a user;

a controller configured to convert the received voice into corresponding text and detect a character or a word emphatically pronounced by the user from the received voice; and

a display unit configured to emphatically display the detected character or word in a pre-set format when the text is displayed.

2. The mobile terminal of claim 1, wherein the controller detects a pronunciation in the voice that is emphasized by the user in units of characters, words, phrases or a portion thereof.

The mobile terminal of claim 1, wherein the controller compares a stress, a sound volume or an intonation of each character or word of the received voice with pre-set particular reference values, and detects a character or a word having a value of the stress, the sound volume, or the intonation that is more than the preset particular reference values as an emphasized character or word.

4. The mobile terminal of claim 1, wherein the controller sequentially detects characters or words having a highest value of stress, sound volume or intonation, among the characters or words of the received voice, as emphasized characters or words.

5. The mobile terminal of claim 4, wherein the controller sequentially detects the emphasized characters or words within a pre-set number or rate.

The mobile terminal of claim 1, wherein the controller provides control to change a color, brightness, font, size or thickness of emphasized characters or words, change the emphasized characters or words into a pre-set particular image, apply special effects such as animation to the emphasized characters or words, or automatically input sentence symbols between the emphasized characters or words, and display the emphasized characters or words.

7. A voice recognition method of a mobile terminal, the method comprising:

receiving and recognizing a voice of a user;

converting the received voice into corresponding text and displaying the text;

detecting a character or word emphatically pronounced by the user from the received voice; and

when the received voice is converted into the text, emphatically displaying the emphatically pronounced character or word in a pre-set format.

8. The method of claim 7, wherein in recognizing the voice of the user, units of characters, words, phrases, or a portion thereof emphasized by the user is detected from the received voice.

The method of claim 7, wherein a stress, a sound volume or an intonation of each character or word of the received voice is compared with pre-set reference values, and a character or a word having a value of the stress, sound volume, or the intonation that is more than the particular pre-set reference values is detected as an emphasized character or word.

10. The method of claim 7, wherein characters or words having a highest value of a stress, a sound volume or an intonation, among the characters or words of the received voice, are sequentially detected as emphasized characters or words.

The method of claim 7, wherein in emphatically displaying the emphatically pronounced characters or words, a color, brightness, font, size or thickness of emphasized characters or words are changed, the emphasized characters or words are changed into a pre-set particular image, special effects such as animation are applied to the emphasized characters or words, or sentence symbols are automatically inputted between the characters or words.

12. The method of claim 7, further comprising:

discriminating whether the received voice is an instruction or a simple voice message to be converted into the text; and

if the received voice is an instruction, recognizing a meaning of the voice instruction with reference to user emphasized characters or words as meaningful information.

13. A mobile terminal, comprising:

a microphone configured to receive a voice of the user that pronounces one or more characters or words;

a controller configured to convert the pronounced one or more characters or words into corresponding text, and to additionally detect at least one of the one or more characters or words that is emphasized when pronounced; and

a display unit to display the corresponding text of the one or more characters or words, including the at least one or more characters or words that is emphasized.

14. The mobile terminal of claim 13, wherein the corresponding text is in a first format, and the at least one of the one or more characters that is emphasized is in a second format.

15. The mobile terminal of claim 14, wherein the second format is different from the first format in terms of color, brightness, contrast, font, size thickness, a pre-set particular image, and/or a special effect.

16. The mobile terminal of claim 14, wherein only a portion of the one or more characters or words is in the second format.

17. The mobile terminal of claim 16, wherein the display unit is a touch screen.
