Abstract

Methods and systems for reviewing previously recorded and real-time user session data of presentation layer protocol data. Methods describing a shadowing tool receiving a streaming real-time presentation layer protocol data stream from a shadowing agent service executing on a server; receiving a recorded presentation layer protocol data stream from the shadowing agent service; and combining the streaming real-time presentation layer protocol data stream and the recorded presentation layer protocol data stream producing a single output stream. Systems describing a shadowing tool executing on a computing device receiving a streaming real-time presentation layer protocol data stream from a shadowing agent service executing on a server; the shadowing tool receiving a recorded presentation layer protocol data stream from the shadowing agent service; and the shadowing tool combining the streaming real-time presentation layer protocol data stream and the recorded presentation layer protocol data stream producing a single output stream.

Claims

1. A method for reviewing previously recorded and real-time user session data of presentation layer protocol data, the method comprising:

(a) receiving, by a shadowing tool executing on a computing device, a streaming real-time presentation layer protocol data stream from a shadowing agent service executing on a server;

(b) receiving, by the shadowing tool, a recorded presentation layer protocol data stream from the shadowing agent service; and

(c) combining, by the shadowing tool, the streaming real-time presentation layer protocol data stream and the recorded presentation layer protocol data stream producing a single output stream.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising receiving, by the shadowing tool, the streaming real-time presentation layer protocol data stream and the recorded presentation layer protocol data stream at substantially the same time.

3. The method of claim 1, further comprising receiving, by the shadowing tool, a recorded presentation layer protocol data stream in a plurality of files, each of the plurality of files a pre-determined file size.

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising receiving, by the shadowing tool, a recorded presentation layer protocol data stream in a plurality of files, each of the plurality of files a pre-determined durational length.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising indicating, by the shadowing tool, the transition from the recorded presentation layer protocol data stream to the real-time presentation layer protocol data stream by displaying a message.

6. The method of claim 1, further comprising indicating, by the shadowing tool, the transition from the recorded presentation layer protocol data stream to the real-time presentation layer protocol data stream by displaying the recorded presentation layer protocol data stream in one of a visually different hue and saturation in color than the real-time presentation layer protocol data stream.

7. The method of claim 1, further comprising deleting, by the shadowing tool, the received real-time presentation layer protocol data stream and the recorded presentation layer protocol data stream once the shadowing tool disconnects from the shadowing agent service.

8. The method of claim 1, further comprising providing, by the shadowing tool, one or more video playback features of play, rewind, and pause.

9. The method of claim 1, further comprising providing, by the shadowing tool, one or more of fast forward and slow forward review modes.

10. The method of claim 1, further comprising providing, by the shadowing tool, random seeking review mode.

11. A system for reviewing previously recorded and real-time user session data of presentation layer protocol data comprising:

a shadowing tool executing on a computing device receiving a streaming real-time presentation layer protocol data stream from a shadowing agent service executing on a server;

the shadowing tool receiving a recorded presentation layer protocol data stream from the shadowing agent service; and

the shadowing tool combining the streaming real-time presentation layer protocol data stream and the recorded presentation layer protocol data stream producing a single output stream.

12. The system of claim 11, wherein the shadowing tool receives the streaming real-time presentation layer protocol data stream and the recorded presentation layer protocol data stream at substantially the same time.

13. The system of claim 11, wherein the shadowing tool receives a recorded presentation layer protocol data stream in a plurality of files, each of the plurality of files a pre-determined file size.

14. The system of claim 11, wherein the shadowing tool receives a recorded presentation layer protocol data stream in a plurality of files, each of the plurality of files a pre-determined durational length.

15. The system of claim 11, where the shadowing tool indicates the transition from the recorded presentation layer protocol data stream to the real-time presentation layer protocol data stream by displaying a message.

16. The system of claim 11, wherein the shadowing tool indicates the transition from the recorded presentation layer protocol data stream to the real-time presentation layer protocol data stream by displaying the recorded presentation layer protocol data stream in one of a visually different hue and saturation in color than the real-time presentation layer protocol data stream.

17. The system of claim 11, wherein the shadowing tool deletes the received real-time presentation layer protocol data stream and the recorded presentation layer protocol data stream once the shadowing tool disconnects from the shadowing agent service.

18. The system of claim 11, wherein the shadowing tool provides one or more video playback features of play, rewind, and pause.

19. The system of claim 11, wherein the shadowing tool provides one or more of fast forward and slow forward review modes.

20. The system of claim 11, wherein the shadowing tool provides a random seeking review mode.
