Abstract

Disclosed herein are various exemplary systems and methods for linking entity references to entities and identifying associations between entities. In particular, a method for delinking one or more entity references linked to a same entity is provided, where the one or more entity references having at least one common data field. The method comprises the steps of evaluating at least one actual measurement of the entity based at least in part on one or more field values of the one or more entity references, determining a difference between the at least one actual measurement and at least one predefined measurement associated with the entity and delinking the one or more entity references based at least in part on a comparison of the difference and a defined threshold.

26. A method for breaking links between a plurality of entity references, each of the plurality of entity references comprising at least one common data field and having a common Definitive Identifier (DID), the method comprising the steps of:

measuring, for the at least one common data field, a variance of the field values of one or more entity references; and

disassociating the common DID from at least one of the plurality of entity references when the measured variance of the at least one common data field exceeds a variance threshold associated with the at least one common data field.

27. The method as in claim 26, further comprising the step of associating a first indicator with the one or more entity references when the measured variance exceeds the variance threshold, the first indicator indicating that the one or more entity references was erroneously linked.

28. The method as in claim 27, furcated comprising the step of associating a second indicator with an entity reference when the first indicator already is associated with the entity reference, the second indicator indicating that the entity reference is possibly erroneous.

29. The method as in claim 26, wherein a unique Reference Identifier (RID) is associated with each of the one or more entity references and where the steep of disassociating the common DID comprises changing the DID of an entity reference to the RID of the entity reference.

30. The method as in claim 26, wherein the subset of data fields includes one or more of:

a first name field;

a last name field;

a date-of-birth field;

an address field; and

a social security number field.

31. The method as in claim 26, wherein the entity references are at least part of one or more databases.

32. The method as in claim 31, wherein the one or more databases includes one of a group consisting of:

a medical records database;

a criminal records database;

a motor vehicles registration database;

a voters registration database;

a Uniform Commercial Code flings database;

a corporations filing database;

a Federal Aviations Administration database;

a credit report database;

an immigrations database;

a bankruptcy filings database;

a property deeds database; and

a directory assistance database.
