Abstract

Certain embodiments disclosed herein relate to compositions, methods, devices, systems, and products regarding frozen particles. In certain embodiments, the frozen particles include materials at low temperatures. In certain embodiments, the frozen particles provide vehicles for delivery of particular agents. In certain embodiments, the frozen particles are administered to at least one biological tissue.

Claims

1. A frozen particle composition, comprising:

a frozen solution particle defining at least one cavity;

the at least one cavity containing at least one agent; and

wherein the frozen solution particle has at least one major dimension of approximately one centimeter or less, approximately one millimeter or less, approximately one micrometer or less, approximately one nanometer or less, or any value therebetween.

2. The frozen particle composition of claim 1, wherein the frozen solution particle is in one or more phases including at least one of amorphous solid water, low density amorphous ice, high density amorphous ice, very high density amorphous ice, clathrate ice, hyperquenched glassy water, ice Ic, ice Ih, ice II, ice III, ice IV, ice V, ice VI, ice VII, ice VIII, ice IX, ice X, ice XI, ice XII, ice XIII, or ice XIV.

9. The frozen particle composition of claim 1, wherein the at least one cavity includes at least one matrix.

10. The frozen particle composition of claim 1, wherein the at least one cavity is an inner core cavity of at least one frozen solution particle.

13. The frozen particle composition of claim 1, wherein the at least one cavity has a higher concentration of the at least one agent than any other cavity.

17. The frozen particle composition of claim 1, wherein the at least one cavity includes one or more layers of at least one agent.

18. The frozen particle composition of claim 1, wherein the at least one cavity includes one or more layers of multiple agents.

23. The frozen particle composition of claim 1, wherein the at least one agent includes one or more of a pro-drug or precursor compound.

24. The frozen particle composition of claim 1, wherein the at least one agent includes one or more time-release or extended-release formulations.

39. The frozen particle composition of claim 1, wherein the at least one agent includes one or more of an adhesive agent, reinforcement agent, abrasive, therapeutic agent, biological remodeling agent, or explosive material.

40. The frozen particle composition of claim 1, farther comprising a plurality of frozen solution particles that are approximately uniform in size, shape, weight, or density.

43. The frozen particle composition of claim 1, further comprising at least one of a nanoparticle, detection material, sensor, micro-syringe, or circuit.

44. The frozen particle composition of claim 43, wherein the detection material is intermixed with the at least one frozen particle composition.

45. The frozen particle composition of claim 43, wherein the detection material is located in the at least one frozen particle composition.

46. The frozen particle composition of claim 43, wherein the detection material is located in at least one cavity of at least one frozen particle composition.

47. The frozen particle composition of claim 43, wherein the detection material includes at least one electronic identification device.

48. The frozen particle composition of claim 47, wherein the at least one electronic identification device includes at least one radio frequency identification device.

49. The frozen particle composition of claim 43, wherein the detection material includes at least one radioactive element.

50. The frozen particle composition of claim 49, wherein the at least one radioactive element includes one or more of ³²P, ³⁵S, ¹³C, ¹³¹I, ¹⁹¹Ir, ¹⁹²Ir, ¹⁹³Ir, or ³H.

51. The frozen particle composition of claim 43, wherein the detection material includes at least one luminescent, colorimetric or odorous substance.

52. The frozen particle composition of claim 51, wherein the at least one colorimetric substance includes one or more of an inorganic, organic, biological, natural, artificial, or synthetic substance.

53. The frozen particle composition of claim 43, wherein the at least one detection material includes one or more of a dye, pigment, luminescent substance, fluorescent substance, or phosphorescent substance.

54. The frozen particle composition of claim 43, wherein the detection material includes at least one of a diamagnetic particle, ferromagnetic particle, paramagnetic particle, super paramagnetic contrast agent, or other magnetic particle.

62. A method of providing at least one agent to at least one biological tissue of a subject, comprising:

administering at least one frozen particle composition to at least one biological tissue, wherein the at least one frozen particle composition includes one or more frozen solution particles defining at least one cavity;

the at least one cavity containing at least one agent; and

wherein the one or more frozen solution particles have at least one major dimension of approximately one centimeter or less, approximately one millimeter or less, approximately one micrometer or less, approximately one nanometer or less, or any value therebetween.

66. The method of claim 62, wherein administering at least one frozen particle composition to at least one biological tissue includes accelerating, propelling, or ejecting the at least one frozen particle composition toward the at least one biological tissue.

67. The method of claim 62, wherein administering the at least one frozen particle composition to at least one biological tissue includes propelling, ejecting, or accelerating the at least one frozen particle composition toward the at least one biological tissue at a predetermined angle, a predetermined velocity, a predetermined rate of administration, a predetermined depth, a predetermined location, a predetermined time sequence, or a predetermined spatial pattern.

68. The method of claim 62, further comprising varying the rate, velocity, or angle at which the at least one frozen particle composition is administered to the at least one biological tissue.

74. The method of claim 62, wherein the at least one biological tissue is located in at least one of in situ, in vitro, in vivo, in utero, in planta, in silica, or ex vivo.

75. The method of claim 62, wherein the at least one biological tissue is transplanted or implanted into at least one subject.

76. The method of claim 62, wherein the at least one biological tissue is ingested by at least one subject.

77. The method of claim 62, wherein the at least one biological tissue includes at least one biological tissue from at least one donor or recipient.

78. The method of claim 77, wherein the at least one donor includes at least one cadaver.

80. The method of claim 62, wherein the at least one biological tissue includes at least one cell mass.

82. The method of claim 80, wherein the at least one cell mass includes at least one benign or malignant tumor.

84. The method of claim 80, wherein the at least one biological tissue includes one or more of a stalk, stem, leaf, root, plant, or tendril.

85. The method of claim 62, further comprising administering to the at least one biological tissue at least one of a nanoparticle, detection material, sensor, circuit, or micro-syringe.

103. A method of vaccinating a subject, comprising:

administering to at least one biological tissue of a subject at least one frozen particle composition;

wherein the at least one frozen particle composition includes one or more frozen solution particles defining at least one cavity;

the at least one cavity containing at least one vaccine; and

wherein the one or more frozen solution particles have at least one major dimension of approximately one centimeter or less, approximately one millimeter or less, approximately one micrometer or less, approximately one nanometer or less, or any value therebetween.

105. The method of claim 103, wherein the at least one vaccine includes at least one prophylactic or therapeutic vaccine.

107. The method of claim 103, wherein the at least one frozen particle composition further comprises at least one adjuvant.

108. The method of claim 107, wherein the at least one adjuvant and the at least one vaccine are located in at least one of the same or different cavities of the one or more frozen solution particles.

The method of claim 103, wherein administering the at least one frozen particle composition to at least one biological tissue includes propelling, ejecting, or accelerating the at least one frozen particle composition toward the at least one biological tissue at a predetermined angle, a predetermined velocity, or a predetermined rate of administration.

113. The method of claim 103, wherein administering the at least one frozen particle composition to at least one biological tissue includes propelling, ejecting, or accelerating a plurality of frozen particle compositions toward the at least one biological tissue.

125. The method of claim 103, wherein the at least one biological tissue includes a mucosal surface.

126. The method of claim 103, wherein the at least one biological tissue includes at least one cell mass.

128. The method of claim 126, wherein the at least one cell mass includes at least one benign or malignant tumor.

130. The method of claim 103, wherein the at least one biological tissue includes one or more of a stalk, stem, leaf, root, plant, or tendril.

142. The frozen particle composition of claim 141, wherein the frozen solution particle includes at least one inlet port in fluid communication with the at least one cavity.

143. The frozen particle composition of claim 141, wherein the frozen solution particle includes at least one status indicator.

145. The frozen particle composition of claim 143, wherein the at least one status indicator includes at least one of a sensor, a magnet, a colorimetric substance, or a physical measuring device.
