Abstract

Intelligent call transcript systems and methods are disclosed. An intelligent call transcript system can create a transcript of a telephonic communication and supplement the transcript with additional information automatically or upon request. Additional information may be added when key words are detected, such as adding acronym expansion when an acronym is detected or adding identifying information to an important task when mention of the task is detected. Portions of the transcript may also be sent as messages, text-based or audio, upon detection of key words or at the instruction of a user or device.

Claims

1. A method of intelligent transcription, comprising:

recording a telephonic communication comprising speech on a recording medium with a recording device;

detecting a key word within the telephonic communication;

transcribing the telephonic communication to generate a transcript; and

responsive to detecting the key word, automatically inserting additional information into the transcript.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the additional information comprises a tag.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the tag is a hyperlink that links to an audio recording of the telephonic communication.

4. The method of claim 3, wherein the hyperlink links to a portion of the audio recording that is proximate to a location of the key word within the audio recording.

5. The method of claim 2, wherein the tag is a hyperlink to a document associated with the key word.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein inserting additional information comprises adding highlighting to a portion of the transcript.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein inserting additional information comprises adding additional text to the transcript, wherein the additional text is not a transcription of the telephonic communication.

13. The system of claim 7, wherein the specific occurrence is a tone generated by a telephone.

14. The system of claim 13, wherein the additional information is an indication that a portion of the transcript contains a particular type of information.

8. A system for intelligent transcription, comprising:

a transcription component configured receive a telephonic communication comprising speech and transcribe the telephonic communication to generate a transcript; and

a detection component configured to detect a specific occurrence within the telephonic communication;

the detection component further configured to automatically supplement the transcript with additional information responsive to detecting the specific occurrence.

9. The system of claim 8, wherein the specific occurrence is a detection of an emotion by a speaker in the telephonic communication.

10. The system of claim 9, wherein the additional information is an indicator of the detection of the emotion.

11. The system of claim 8, wherein the specific occurrence is a word in a foreign language.

12. The system of claim 11, wherein the additional information is a translation of the word in the foreign language.

15. A mobile communications device, comprising:

a transcription component configured to detect a telephonic communication comprising speech and transcribe the telephonic communication to generate a transcript; and

a detection component configured to detect activation of a control and alter the transcript responsive to the activation of the control.

16. The mobile communications device of claim 15, wherein the activation of the control is the activation of a software control within a software application configured on the mobile communications device.

17. The mobile communications device of claim 15, wherein the activation of the control is the activation of a key on a user interface on the mobile communications device.

18. The mobile communications device of claim 15, wherein the detection component alters the transcript by inserting into the transcript a hyperlink.

19. The mobile communications device of claim 18, wherein the hyperlink is a link to a video file.

20. The mobile communications device of claim 15, further comprising a transmission component configured to transmit at least a portion of the transcript responsive to the activation of the control.
