Abstract

A low-resolution image is displayed at higher resolution and afterimages are reduced. Resolution is made higher by super-resolution processing. In this case, the super-resolution processing is performed after frame interpolation processing is performed. Further, in that case, the super-resolution processing is performed using a plurality of processing systems. Therefore, even when frame frequency is made higher, the super-resolution processing can be performed at high speed. Further, since frame rate doubling is performed by the frame interpolation processing, afterimages can be reduced.

Claims

1. A method for driving a display device, comprising:

performing a frame interpolation processing; and

performing a super-resolution processing after the frame interpolation processing.

2. The method for driving a display device according to claim 1, wherein performing converting an interlace image into a progressive image before the super-resolution processing.

3. The method for driving a display device according to claim 1, wherein performing the super-resolution processing in a part of a region in a screen.

4. A method for driving a display device, comprising:

performing a frame interpolation processing; and

performing a super-resolution processing after the frame interpolation processing,

wherein the frame interpolation processing and the super-resolution processing are concurrently performed.

5. The method for driving a display device according to claim 4, wherein performing converting an interlace image into a progressive image before the super-resolution processing.

6. The method for driving a display device according to claim 4, wherein performing the super-resolution processing in a part of a region in a screen.

7. A method for driving a display device, comprising:

performing a frame interpolation processing;

performing a first super-resolution processing; and

performing a second super-resolution processing,

wherein one of the first super-resolution processing and the second super-resolution processing is performed after the frame interpolation processing.

8. The method for driving a display device according to claim 7, wherein performing converting an interlace image into a progressive image before the first and second super-resolution processings.

9. The method for driving a display device according to claim 7, wherein performing the first super-resolution processing in a part of a region in a screen.

10. The method for driving a display device according to claim 7, wherein performing the second super-resolution processing in a part of a region in a screen.

11. A method for driving a display device, comprising:

performing a frame interpolation processing;

performing a super-resolution processing after the frame interpolation processing; and

performing a local dimming processing after the super-resolution processing.

12. The method for driving a display device according to claim 11, wherein performing converting an interlace image into a progressive image before the super-resolution processing.

13. The method for driving a display device according to claim 11, wherein performing the super-resolution processing in a part of a region in a screen.

14. The method for driving a display device according to claim 11, wherein performing the local dimming processing in a part of a region in a screen.

15. A method for driving a display device, comprising:

performing a frame interpolation processing;

performing a super-resolution processing after the frame interpolation processing;

performing a local dimming processing after the super-resolution processing; and

performing an overdrive processing after the local dimming processing.

16. The method for driving a display device according to claim 15, wherein performing converting an interlace image into a progressive image before the super-resolution processing.

17. The method for driving a display device according to claim 15, wherein performing the super-resolution processing in a part of a region in a screen.

18. The method for driving a display device according to claim 15, wherein performing the local dimming processing in a part of a region in a screen.

19. The method for driving a display device according to claim 15, wherein performing the overdrive processing in a part of a region in a screen.
