Abstract

In a software suite for enabling viewing and manipulation of data through a single portal accessible from a data-packet-network, a software interface for enabling proxy transfer of funds from one financial account to another is provided. The software interface comprises, an interactive main window for configuring transfer funds orders, viewing pending transfers, viewing transaction history, and viewing active account balances related to registered financial accounts, an interactive selection window accessible through the main interface, the selection window for enabling selection of individual accounts for grouping into a list of activated accounts and an automated confirmation window enabling confirmation of data parameters of a requested funds transfer. A user operating the main interface may initiate funds transfer orders to be performed between accounts at requested times by proxy in a fashion transparent at the time of execution to the requesting user.

Claims

1. A method for third-party fund transfer, comprising steps of:

(a) providing, by an Internet-enabled service enterprise, an interactive interface to a client;

(b) receiving via the interface an order from the client for transfer, the request including identification of an account at a first institution from which to withdraw, an identification of an account at a second institution into which to deposit, a date, and an amount;

(c) navigating by the service enterprise, to Web sites of the first and second financial institutions via an automated browser on the Internet, logging into the accounts on behalf of the client with account name and password provided by the client, withdrawing the indicated amount from the account at the first institution, and depositing the amount to the account at the second institution.

2. The method of claim 1 wherein in step (a), the interactive interface is a hyper-text-markup-language (HTML) interface.

3. The method of claim 1 wherein in step (b), the amount is input by selecting from a list of available amounts.

4. The method of claim 1 wherein the interactive interface is provided to an Internet-connected, computerized appliance operated by the client.

5. The method of claim 4 wherein the computerized appliance is a personal computer with Internet connection.

6. The method of claim 4 wherein the computerized appliance is a cellular telephone with Internet connection.

7. The method of claim 4, wherein the computerized appliance is a personal digital assistant with Internet connection.
