Abstract

The invention provides location information indicating the geographical location of a mobile station via a core net-work node serving the mobile station The method includes the steps of initiating a communication between the mobile station and the network by calculating the geographical location, supplying corresponding location information indicating the geographical location to the core network node, and subsequently routing the communication between the mobile station and the network.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

initiating a communication between a mobile station and a communication network;

calculating a geographical location of the mobile station for use in call establishment; and

subsequently initiating establishment of a call between the mobile station and the network; and

providing the geographical location from a core network node to a service control device in association with at least one communication control related event, wherein the initiating includes

supplying location information indicating the previously calculated geographical location to the core network node;

subsequently routing the call between the mobile station and the network, wherein indicating the geographical location of the mobile station is conducted via the core network node serving the mobile station; and

communicating said location information from said core network node to the service control device.
