Abstract

Systems and/or methods are disclosed for interacting with a multiple criteria buying and/or selling system to conduct business electronically. A dynamic discount card is disclosed according to an aspect of the present invention. The dynamic discount card comprises an information access component for receiving information and a presentation component for displaying information to a user via the dynamic discount card.

Claims

1. A dynamic discount card that electronically facilitates business transactions, comprising:

an information access component configured to receive, from a communication network, product data as a function of location, wherein the product data relates to a good or service for sale at a price that changes at least in part according to order volume; and

a presentation component that presents the product data.

2. The card of claim 1, wherein the information access component is further configured to receive the product data based upon proximity to a third-party device or card.

3. The card of claim 1, wherein the information access component is further configured to receive the product data (1) within a particular geographic area, (2) from a device within the particular geographic area, or (3) based upon a predefined behavior, activity, or relationship in connection with a user of the dynamic discount card.

4. The card of claim 1, wherein the information access component is further configured to receive the product data based upon a current location of the card or an expected future location of the card.

5. The card of claim 1, wherein the location is determined based upon at least one of global positioning satellite (GPS) data, radio frequency identification (RFID) data, a scan associated with a third-party device, an Internet protocol (IP) address, a postal code associated with a profile or itinerary.

6. The card of claim 1, wherein the information access component is further configured to transmit the product data to a disparate dynamic discount card, to a device comprising or coupled to the disparate dynamic discount card, or to a disparate network.

7. The card of claim 6, wherein the information access component is further configured to transmit the product data in a peer-to-peer fashion.

8. The card of claim 6, wherein the disparate network is a social network.

9. The card of claim 6, wherein the information access component is further configured to transmit the product data based upon a relationship between a transmitter and a recipient.

10. The card of claim 9, wherein the relationship is based upon contact information associated with at least one of an email address, a network alias, or a telephone number.

11. The card of claim 6, wherein disparate dynamic discount card is integrated with or included in at least one of a laptop, a personal digital assistant, a cellular phone, a car panel, a transporter, a segway or segue, a television, a sign or a billboard, or a product or container thereof

12. The card of claim 1 is integrated with or included in at least one of a laptop, a personal digital assistant or other smart device, a cellular phone or other handheld device, a car panel, a transporter, a segway or segue, a television, a sign or a billboard, or a product or container thereof

13. The card of claim 1, wherein the product data includes at least one of a product description, a product price, an advertisement, a reward, or a promotion.

14. A method for employing a dynamic discount card for transacting business electronically, comprising:

utilizing a network as a communication medium for a dynamic discount card;

receiving product data relating to a good or service for sale at a price that varies at least in part according to order volume, wherein the receiving product data is based upon location; and

presenting the product data by way of a set of I/O features included in the dynamic discount card.

15. The method of claim 14, further comprising receiving the product data (1) based upon a proximity to a third-party device or card, (2) from a device within a particular geographic area, or (3) based upon a predefined behavior, activity, or relationship with respect to a user of the dynamic discount card.

16. The method of claim 14, further comprising receiving the product data based upon a current location of the card or an expected future location of the card.

17. The method of claim 16, further comprising determining the current location of the card based upon at least one of global positioning satellite (GPS) data, radio frequency identification (RFID) data, a scan associated with a third-party device, an Internet protocol (IP) address, a postal code associated with a profile.

18. The method of claim 16, further comprising determining the expected future location of the card based upon a postal code associated with an itinerary.

19. The method of claim 14, further comprising forwarding the product data to a disparate device identified in a list of contacts associated with a user of the dynamic discount card.

20. A system for employing a dynamic discount card for transacting business electronically, comprising:

means for integrating a dynamic discount card into a mobile device;

means for utilizing a network as a communication medium for the mobile device;

means for determining a location of the mobile device;

means for receiving product data, subject to the location, relating to a good or service for sale at a price that varies based at least in part to order volume; and

means for presenting the product data by way of a set of I/O features included in the dynamic discount card.

21. The system of claim 20, further comprising transmitting the product data to a disparate device identified in a list of contacts associated with a user of the mobile device.

22. The system of claim 20, further comprising transmitting the product data in the form of a promotion or advertisement.
