Abstract

A mobile terminal and a method for controlling the same are disclosed, which facilitates diverse functions thereof to be registered in a touch gesture and functions, information and menu icons registered in the touch gesture to be arranged and displayed adjacent to the input touch gesture, when the touch gesture is inputted on the touchscreen.

In another aspect, a mobile terminal and a method for controlling the same are disclosed, which facilitates a terminal to be used in further consideration of user'"'"'s convenience. According to at least one of embodiments of the present invention.

Claims

1. A mobile terminal, comprising:

a touch-screen configured to display at least one user interface (UI) on a touch-locked screen;

a memory configured to set at least one touch gesture for unlocking the touch-locked screen and executing a function, the touch gesture having a specific pattern; and

a controller configured to unlock the touch-lock of the screen and to execute a function assigned to the UI object on the touch-unlocked screen when the touch gesture set in the memory is recognized on the UI object.

2. The mobile terminal of claim 1, wherein the controller intercepts a inputted touch gesture from being setting in the memory when the inputted touch gesture is similar to the touch gestures set in the memory in case of setting the inputted touch gesture in the memory.

3. The mobile terminal of claim 2, wherein the controller examines similarity between the inputted touch gesture and the touch gestures set in the memory and the displays information of the examined similarity on the screen.

4. The mobile terminal of claim 1, wherein the controller unlocks the touch-locked of the screen and executes a function of at least one UI object located in a specific region on the screen when a touch gesture set in the memory is recognized in the specific region on the screen.

5. The mobile terminal of claim 1, wherein function execution of the UI object is locked and the controller unlocks the function of the UI object, and executes the function of the UI object.

6. The mobile terminal of claim 5, wherein the controller displays information representing whether to execute or lock the function of the UI object in the UI object or adjacent to the UI object.

7. The mobile terminal of claim 1, wherein the controller unlocks the touch-locked of the screen and executes functions of UI objects when a touch gesture set in the memory is recognized on a plurality of UI objects.

8. The mobile terminal of claim 7, wherein the controller displays a list of the functions of the UI objects before executing the functions of the UI objects, and executes a function selected on the list.

9. The mobile terminal of claim 7, wherein the controller executes the functions of the UI objects, respectively, and displays each of the functions executing screens on the touch-screen.

10. The mobile terminal of claim 1, wherein the controller unlocks the touch-locked of the screen and unlocks function-execution locked of the UI objects displayed on the screen, when a touch gesture set in the memory is recognized on a region in the screen, wherein the UI objects are not displayed on the region.

11. The mobile terminal of claim 10, wherein the controller displays a list of functions of the UI objects and the controller executes a function selected on the list when the touch-lock and the function-execution lock are unlocked.

12. The mobile terminal of claim 1, wherein at least one touch gesture mapped with a plurality of functions is further set in the memory, and

the controller searches UI objects having assigned functions mapped with the touch gesture when the touch gesture mapped with the functions is inputted on the touch-unlocked screen, and displays the searched UI objects on the screen.

13. The mobile terminal of claim 12, wherein the controller sorts the UI objects based on set usage frequency, importance and priority, and arranges and displays the sorted UI objects adjacent to the pattern of the inputted touch gesture.

14. The mobile terminal of claim 12, wherein the controller arranges the UI objects adjacent to the pattern of the inputted touch gesture in at least one of Grid style, random style, pile style and messy style.

15. The mobile terminal of claim 12, wherein the controller displays a three-dimensional polyhedron adjacent to the pattern of the inputted touch gesture, and displays the UI objects on facets of the three-dimensional polyhedron, respectively.

16. The mobile terminal of claim 12, wherein the controller arranges and displays the UI objects at a location of the pattern of the inputted touch gesture.

17. The mobile terminal of claim 12, wherein the controller displays UI objects mapped with a searched touch gestures based on an identical order of the pattern of the inputted touch gestures when a plurality of touch gestures including the pattern of the inputted gesture are searched in the memory.

18. The mobile terminal of claim 12, wherein the controller enlarges a selected UI objects to a predetermined size when one of the UI objects is selected, and the controller executes a function of the enlarged UI object when the enlarged UI object is selected.

19. The mobile terminal of claim 12, wherein the screen is an idle-screen, and

the functions mapped with the touch gesture set in the memory are favorite menu functions set by the user, and

the controller arranges the UI objects having assigned the favorite menu functions, at a location of the pattern of the inputted touch gesture in an appearance of the pattern when the pattern of the touch gesture mapped with the favorite menu functions is inputted on the idle-screen.

20. A method for controlling a mobile terminal, the method comprising:

setting in a memory of the mobile terminal, at least one touch gesture for unlocking a touch-locked screen and executing a function, the touch gesture having a specific pattern;

displaying at least one UI object on the touch-locked touch-screen;

unlocking the touch-locked of the touch-screen when a touch gesture set in the memory is recognized on the UI object; and

executing a function assigned to the UI object on the touch-unlocked touch-screen.

21. The control method of claim 21, further comprising:

setting at least one touch gesture mapped with a plurality of functions;

searching UI objects having assigned functions mapped with the touch gesture when the touch gesture mapped with the functions is inputted on the touch-unlocked screen; and

displaying the searched UI objects on the screen.
