Abstract

An Object Customization and Management (OCM) system is configured to identify an object for creating a website based on a business objective. The OCM system includes a customizing module configured to determine qualitative attribute categories for a plurality of objects operable to be used in websites. The module assigns the plurality of objects to the qualitative attribute categories. The OCM system also includes a data management module configured to receive a request for one of the plurality of objects to be used to achieve the business objective. This module also matches the business objective with one of the qualitative attribute categories, and selects an object in the matched qualitative attribute category for the request.

Claims

1. An Object Customization and Management (OCM) system configured to manage digital objects, the OCM system comprising:

a customizing module configured to

determine qualitative attribute categories for a plurality of objects operable to be used in websites, and

assign the plurality of objects to the qualitative attribute categories; and

a data management module executed by a computer system and configured to

receive a request for one of the plurality of objects to be used to achieve a business objective,

match the business objective with one of the qualitative attribute categories, and

select an object in the matched qualitative attribute category for the request.

2. The OCM system of claim 1, further comprising a testing module configured to

provisionally assign the plurality of objects to the qualitative attribute categories, wherein each of the qualitative attribute categories is associated with one of a plurality of business objectives,

test the plurality of objects to determine whether each of the plurality of objects matches the business objective for the respective qualitative attribute categories, and

validate the qualitative attribute categories based on the testing.

3. The OCM system of claim 2, wherein, to provisionally assign the plurality of objects to the qualitative attribute categories, the testing module is configured to

determine a qualitative attribute for each object of the plurality of objects,

match the qualitative attribute with one or more of the qualitative attribute categories, and

assign each object to the one or more qualitative attribute categories based on the matching.

4. The OCM system of claim 3, wherein the qualitative attribute for each object is an emotional response or a perception of a user stimulated by viewing the object.

5. The OCM system of claim 3, wherein the qualitative attribute for each object is a recommended use for an object.

6. The OCM system of claim 5, wherein the recommended use is for a geographic region.

7. The OCM system of claim 5, wherein the recommended use is for a demographic.

8. The OCM system of claim 2, wherein, to test the plurality of objects, the testing module is configured to

use the plurality of objects in one or more websites, and

determine whether a visitor to the one or more websites performs an action associated with the business objective assigned to the qualitative attribute category for each object used in the one or more websites.

9. The OCM system of claim 1, wherein, to determine the qualitative attribute categories, the customizing module is configured to

provisionally identify secondary qualitative attribute categories, wherein each of the secondary qualitative attribute categories is associated with a business objective,

provisionally assign the plurality of objects to the secondary qualitative attribute categories,

test each of the plurality of objects to determine whether the plurality of objects match the business objectives for the respective secondary qualitative attribute categories, and

validate the secondary qualitative attribute categories based on the testing.

10. A method for identifying an object for a business objective, the method comprising:

determining qualitative attribute categories for a plurality of objects operable to be used in websites;

receiving a request for one of the plurality of objects to be used to achieve the business objective;

matching the business objective with one of the qualitative attribute categories; and

selecting, by a computer system, an object in the matched qualitative attribute category for the request.

11. The method of claim 10, wherein determining qualitative attribute categories comprises:

provisionally assigning the plurality of objects to the qualitative attribute categories, wherein each of the qualitative attribute categories is associated with one of a plurality of business objectives;

testing the plurality of objects to determine whether each of the plurality of objects match the business objectives for the respective qualitative attribute categories; and

validating the qualitative attribute categories based on the testing.

12. The method of claim 11, wherein provisionally assigning the plurality of objects to the categories comprises:

determining a qualitative attribute for each object of the plurality of objects;

matching the qualitative attribute with one or more of the qualitative attribute categories; and

assigning each object to the one or more qualitative attribute categories based on the matching.

13. The method of claim 11, wherein testing the plurality of objects comprises:

using the plurality of objects in one or more websites; and

determining whether a visitor to the one or more websites performs an action associated with the business objective assigned to the qualitative attribute category for each object used in the one or more websites.

14. The method of claim 10, wherein determining qualitative attribute categories further comprises:

provisionally identifying secondary qualitative attribute categories, wherein each of the secondary qualitative attribute categories is associated with a business objective;

provisionally assigning the plurality of objects to the secondary qualitative attribute categories;

testing each of the plurality of objects to determine whether the objects influence the matched business objectives for the respective secondary qualitative attribute categories; and

validating the secondary qualitative attribute categories based on the testing.

15. The method of claim 10, the method further comprising:

surveying one or more databases associated with an Object Customization Management (OCM) system for objects pursuant to the request, and

if there are not sufficient objects in the one or more databases associated with the OCM system, generating one or more new objects pursuant to the request.

16. A non-transitory computer readable medium storing computer readable instructions that when executed by a computer system perform a method for identifying an object for a business objective, the method comprising:

determining qualitative attribute categories for a plurality of objects operable to be used in websites;

receiving a request for one of the plurality of objects to be used to achieve the business objective;

matching the business objective with one of the qualitative attribute categories; and

selecting an object in the matched qualitative attribute category for the request.

17. The computer readable medium of claim 16, wherein the method comprises:

provisionally assigning the plurality of objects to the qualitative attribute categories, wherein each of the qualitative attribute categories is associated with one of a plurality of business objectives;

testing the plurality of objects to determine whether each of the plurality of objects influence the matched business objectives for the respective qualitative attribute categories; and

validating the qualitative attribute categories based on the testing.

18. The computer readable medium of claim 17, wherein the method comprises:

determining a qualitative attribute for each object of the plurality of objects;

matching the qualitative attribute with one or more of the qualitative attribute categories; and

assigning each object to the one or more qualitative attribute categories based on the matching.

19. The computer readable medium of claim 17, wherein the method comprises:

using the plurality of objects in one or more websites; and

determining whether a visitor to the one or more websites performs an action associated with the business objective assigned to the qualitative attribute category for each object used in the one or more websites.

20. The computer readable medium of claim 16, wherein the method comprises:

provisionally identifying secondary qualitative attribute categories, wherein each of the secondary qualitative attribute categories is associated with a business objective;

provisionally assigning the plurality of objects to the secondary qualitative attribute categories;

testing each of the plurality of objects to determine whether the objects influence the matched business objectives for the respective secondary qualitative attribute categories; and

validating the secondary qualitative attribute categories based on the testing.
