Abstract

In certain embodiments, an apparatus includes an oxygen depletion sensor (ODS) includes a thermocouple, a first nozzle configured to direct heat from combustion of a first gas, liquid, or combination thereof to the thermocouple, a second nozzle configured to direct heat from combustion of a second gas, liquid, or combination thereof to the thermocouple, and a first igniter.

2. An apparatus comprising:

a first fuel source of a first gas, liquid, or combination thereof;

a second fuel source of a second gas, liquid, or combination thereof, different from the first;

a first flow channel in communication with the first fuel source;

a second flow channel in communication with the second fuel source;

a first outlet in fluid communication with said first flow channel;

a second outlet in fluid communication with said second flow channel; and

an igniter configured to instigate combustion of the first gas, liquid, or combination thereof and the second gas, liquid or combination thereof.

3. The apparatus of claim 2, wherein the igniter is spaced apart at a different distance from said first outlet than from said second outlet

4. The apparatus of claim 2, wherein the igniter comprises a piezoelectric igniter.

5. The apparatus of claim 2, further comprising an igniter switch configured to activate the igniter

6. A dual fuel heater comprising:

a burner;

a first fuel source of a first gas, liquid, or combination thereof;

a second fuel source of a second gas, liquid, or combination thereof, different from the first;

a first flow channel in communication with the first fuel source;

a second flow channel in communication with the second fuel source;

a first outlet in fluid communication with said first flow channel;

a second outlet in fluid communication with said second flow channel; and

an igniter configured to instigate combustion of the first gas, liquid, or combination thereof and the second gas, liquid or combination thereof.

7. The apparatus of claim 6, wherein the igniter is spaced apart at a different distance from said first outlet than from said second outlet

8. The apparatus of claim 6, wherein the igniter comprises a piezoelectric igniter.

9. The apparatus of claim 6, further comprising an igniter switch configured to activate the igniter
