Abstract

The present invention relates to wireless communications system. More specifically, the present invention relates to a method in which a mobile station communicates with any desired node in a wireless communications system. This communications method comprises the steps of: transmitting upwards a first signal for searching for any desired node; receiving from the desired node a second signal indicating that a service can be provided to the mobile station, by way of response to the first signal; and carrying out a procedure for receiving the service from the desired node, wherein the desired node monitors the first signal in a sleep mode.

Claims

1. A method for communicating with an arbitrary node at a Mobile Station (MS) in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

transmitting a first signal for searching for the arbitrary node on an uplink;

receiving from the arbitrary node a second signal indicating that a service can be provided to the MS as a response to the first signal; and

performing a procedure for receiving a service from the arbitrary node,

wherein the arbitrary node monitors the first signal in a sleep mode.

2. The method according to claim 1, wherein the first signal is a preamble signal.

3. The method according to claim 1, wherein the procedure for receiving a service from the arbitrary node includes transmission of information necessary for self-organization to the arbitrary node.

4. The method according to claim 3, wherein the information necessary for self-organization includes a result of monitoring downlink traffic of a neighbor cell.

5. The method according to claim 4, wherein the monitoring result includes at least one of a cell Identifier (ID), a signal strength of the cell, a system bandwidth, a downlink/uplink (DL/UL) ratio, and a frame number.

6. A method for conducting communication at an arbitrary node in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

monitoring a signal of a neighbor cell in a stand-alone mode; and

changing, upon detection of a signal of one or more cells, a configuration of the arbitrary node to avoid collision with the detected cells.

7. The method according to claim 6, wherein the arbitrary node operates according to default configuration information in the stand-alone mode.

8. The method according to claim 6, wherein the changing of a configuration of the arbitrary node comprises changing a cell IDentifier (ID) of the arbitrary node.

9. A method for conducting communication in an irregular cell in a wireless communication system supporting Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA), the method comprising:

spreading data in a time, frequency or time/frequency domain; and

transmitting the spread data to a Mobile Station (MS) using radio resources shared with a regular cell.

10. The method according to claim 9, wherein the spread data ensures a signal quality requested for a downlink signal of the regular cell.

11. The method according to claim 9, wherein if the spread data includes two or more data, the spread data does not share radio resources with one another.

12. The method according to claim 9, wherein the data spreading comprises applying a spreading sequence of a different length to the data according to a type of the data.

13. The method according to claim 9, wherein the irregular cell uses a different spreading sequence from a neighbor irregular cell.

14. The method according to claim 9, wherein if the data is transmitted on a synchronization channel or a control channel, the synchronization channel or control channel is transmitted in the same format as a synchronization channel or a control channel of the regular cell.

15. The method according to claim 9, wherein the regular cell includes a femto cell or a pico cell.
